Dr. Anthony Rolle is said to be a member of the Malthusian League, a British organisation which advocated the practice of contraception and the education of the public about the importance of family planning, established in 1877. While their focus was on contraception and abstinence, their philosophy is derived from Malthusianism, the theory that population growth is potentially exponential while the growth of the food supply or other resources is linear, which eventually reduces living standards to the point of triggering a population die off. This belief has gained a wider acceptance in modern times due to the advances of technology, the Club of Rome's commission of the 1972 report entitled The Limits of Growth and the aftermath effects of widespread viruses as promoted by the World Economic Forum.
