It's bad enough that they did a clip show. If you don't have enough material for an episode, don't make that episode.

What's worse though is that the plot was the same plot they've had with these two guest characters repeatedly. Meaning it was obvious from the start what the big reveal was and it's frankly absurd that Murdoch wouldn't know it.

There was only a few minutes of new footage, especially if you take out the dialogue which was obvious set ups for a cutaway to a flashback.

It's not like the clips were greatest hits. They were just various normal scenes showing the the thing one of the characters had just described. E.g. "last time we saw this person x happened and they said y". Cut to clip of x happening and y being said.

It was more like a table discussion of previous episodes with these guests than an actual plot.

Very poor.

Does anyone else share my impression that season 18 of "Murdoch Mysteries" has been a somewhat peculiar one? To start with, Dr. Ogden and George Crabtree have been absent from the show for much of the time; Henry Higgins comes and goes; the new characters (Constable Teddy Roberts and Inspector Choi) are sometimes around, and sometimes not; Detective Murdoch seems to be partnering with (now) Chief Constable Brackenreid more often than with his Station House Four colleagues... Tonight's episode was largely a clip show, with only about half of it being new material; some of the clips used went back several seasons. Regretfully, I've been asking myself whether the series is winding down.
