Theatrically-released in select New York/New Jersey cinemas with Apex Rising (2014) and Hank Is Evil: The Movie (2014)
Over 1,000 cutout drawings were animated throughout the entire cartoon.
Zachary Strobel (Jimmy) and Louie S. Daidone (Waddle) recorded their dialogue together which is nontraditional when recording lines for an animated cartoon.
The second theatrical appearance for both Jimmy Giraffe and Waddle Waddles. However, this is Waddle's first starring theatrical role (Waddle had a cameo in "Jimmy Giraffe's Flying Car.")
Originally planned to be Flash-animated Jimmy Giraffe cartoon centering around Jimmy going fishing. However, when Strobel was granted permission by James Terriaca to release the film with "Apex Rising," Terriaca predicted the film would be released within 2 months. Strobel, known for his perfectionism and commitment, knew he couldn't animate the cartoon he would want in just 2 months along with attending graduate school for a Master's degree in teaching. Terriaca insisted the cartoon to be about zombies and feature the zombies from his movie, "Apex Rising." Strobel contacted his friend, Louis S. Daidone, whose is known for animating fast and carefully to animate Strobel's new zombie-related storyboard. Strobel then edited the film and released it to Terriaca in March 2014. Though the film had a rushed production; Daidone, Strobel and Terriaca were all pleased with the final product.
