It's Too Late For Absolution Steven

This starts with a man called John Alexander undergoing contemplative brooding introspection:

"I've been a bad man my whole life . If I can do only one good thing in life then that would give me absolution"

Considering John is played by Steven Seagal a more honest appraisal might be:

"I've been an abysmally bad actor my entire life . If I could only make one half decent movie then that would be absolution for the audience"

Unfortunately ABSOLUTION is not that film and seeing the physical appearance of Seagal tells us that it's never going to happen either . It's something of a shock the way Seagal looks nowadays . Try and imagine Marlon Brando in APOCALYPSE NOW with too much artificial hair and that gives you a vague idea of what happens if you're an action movie star who doesn't visit the gym very often . You do wonder how SS is going to kick some ass in his present condition . This is easily explained - he shoots bad guys and leaves any jumping and kicking to his cohort , or failing that a stunt double with his back to camera . It's not absolution that is required but lots of salad and exercise

The film starts with SS being given a mission to eliminate "This Afghan national working for the Iranians and with ties to Pakistan" It's at this very early point alarm bells start ringing that the geo-politics here might be wrong since the Persians and Pakistanis have never really been allies . That said this Afghan national isn't really the main villain , it's a character played by Vinnie Jones and when you're watching a film where Jones gives the most impressive performance that might explain why ABSOLUTION has gone straight to DVD

If you've seen one Steven Seagal flick....

I don't get how this got to theaters.

Last year, Jean-Claude Van Damme had two movies in theaters, Welcome to the Jungle and Enemies Closer, which were pretty decent, mostly because the muscles from Brussels stepped (slightly) out of his element to give us something different than his signature kicks and it worked to make a good movie.

I was expecting the same thing from this Seagal movie (after all, when was the last time this guy had something that did not premiere on Netflix?), but as soon as the movie open with a stupid narration about Seagal being a bad man who does bad things and he's looking to redeem himself with one good deed, I knew this was not that movie.

If any of you are aware of the old fat Seagal era on DVD, than you have herd Steve do this speech in every straight-to-video flick he's ever made. This movie could not be more formulated to the old fat saga, (takes place in Eastern Europe, he plays blues guitar, etc…). The only exception was that the strippers in the film were not naked. Maybe this is how the movie got into theaters?

Don't get me wrong, it's a fine action movie, especially if you at least like Seagal, but I was hoping since this was the first Seagal movie I've seen in years in a movie house, that he would do something different or that it was a return to Seagal back when he was thinner and ran like a girl, but it was neither.

Going to a Gunfight with Just a Knife

"John Alexander" (Steven Seagal) is an assassin who has been very successful with what he does for a living. So capable in fact, that he now believes that he needs to atone for the many bad things he has done over the course of his life. He gets this opportunity following a successful contract hit in Ukraine when he finds himself caught up in the middle of a situation involving a prostitute named "Nadia" (Adina Stetcu) and a murderous, sexual pervert with enormous influence who goes by the title of "the Boss" (Vinnie Jones). However, what he doesn't fully appreciate is just how influential "the Boss" actually is and because of that he becomes a target himself. Now rather than reveal any more I will just say that this movie actually started off pretty good. Unfortunately, it proceeded to get more and more unrealistic as the film progressed with several scenes involving both John Alexander and his friend "Chi" (Byron Mann) willingly throwing down their firearms in order to defeat their fully-armed opponents using only their martial arts skills. Naturally, I could understand this scenario if they were caught off-guard or if they had exhausted all of their ammunition while exchanging gunfire. But professionals don't go to a gunfight armed with just a knife or their bare knuckles. It just doesn't happen. That said, those who enjoy martial arts action for its own sake might really like this movie. But those who want a semblance of reality might be a bit disappointed. In any case, while it wasn't necessarily a bad film, it could have been better and for that reason I have rated it accordingly. Average.

This Mercenary: Absolutely Irrelevant

With a trend of increasingly faster and more brutal action choreography in recent years, there's not much space for Seagal's large frame, no matter how many wrists he snaps. For an action movie, the action scenes themselves are far from believable, a lot of choppy editing and excessive use of doubles make it laughably bad. At least the trademark of Seagal's movie is still here; his near superhuman portrayal, perfect accuracy and untouchable in fight, even though what he does is just randomly waves his hand.

Seagal is tasked to wrap up a potential terrorist by his handler. After an unfortunate event he finds himself protecting a random girl. This is truly an absurd script, the girl literally falls on his laps and then Seagal laments about his existent in his usual erratic mumbling. None of the scenes involving him are convincing, either it's the action or acting. It's just awkward like seeing a grandpa flirt with a girl or a veteran operative waltz in a room and not getting shot because he's wearing plot armor.

Byron Mann and Vinnie Jones are also present, both of them are decent. Byron Mann performs much better despite being a sidekick character. Vinnie Jones is looking grim as always, even though his appearance is relatively short in the movie. The rest of the cast are stiff. At some points the supporting characters sound like they are reading or even spelling the script. Needless to say, the screenplay of elaborate syndicate is nowhere near engaging.

Action is brutally weak. Seagal would do some gestures that probably resemble fighting and the camera cut off to stuntman flying across the room. Majority of the scenes are also played by doubles, it's quite apparent when the shot cuts to their back that not all of the actors are involved in the stunts. It's even worse when Seagal does this transparent excuse of action choreography in a movie where he's supposed to lead.

One must wonder how much longer can Seagal relies only on his fading name because story and choreography are flimsy even by standard of ten years ago.

Seagal was Damn Good in a Damn Good Action Thriller, You Know Exactly What Your Getting.

John Alexander (Seagal) & Chi (Byron Mann) are hired professional killers who are on a mission to execute a terrorists in Romania & they do it perfectly but then they meet a girl who just escaped from a sinister syndicate that torture & traffic girls. Alexander decides to help this girl & kill the syndicate. That's the nice & easy simplicity of this damn good Action B-movie & one of Seagal best in ages. With Low-budget B-movies & Seagal films you know exactly what your getting & that's violent action & no nonsense. The main reason we always checkout Seagal's films, even though their often cheap flicks, is because he delivers easy watching action & we love action. Seagal's cheap B-movies gives us escapism, we get to see evil bad guys of the world get what they deserve. In real life to often the scum escape real justice but in Seagal's movie world they get it brutally & i love it. I had alot of fun with "Absolution" & it gave me exactly what i wanted & abit more (with a very good Seagal) & some damn good bloody shootouts, fights & stabbings all filmed well.

First off the film looks really good & not cheap. It has a slick look & looked no different from the likes of Cinema released Neeson Action films. A decent score & decent performances all round. Hard thug actor Vinnie Jones adds real grit to film by playing a psycho & sadistic crime boss that films himself torturing beautiful girls & of course trafficks them. Byron Mann is very good as Alexander's partner in Action & is a loyal sidekick & a martial arts master who has Starred with Seagal before in A Dangerous Man & Belly of the Beast (both good one's) & the ageing Master himself Seagal is the best he's been in a long time. Here Seagal is definitely into the movie & his character. Seagal puts in a decent performance (best in ages) Seagal is a big tough brutal force here as Mercenary Alexander (a character he's played before in the crappy "A Good Man") & it's so nice to see the big guy actually into his role for a change. Seagal is brutal & enjoyable on screen & who doesn't love a killing machine like Seagal taking out the world's evil trash?

I've noticed in Seagal Direct-to-dvd B-flicks that he's always killing off bad guys in European underbelly places & his films have a harshness to them & are nearly always filmed in sleazy clubs with lots of beautiful ladies & full of tough thugs & i love it.

Seagal became a Charles Bronson type as he got older.

Simply a damn good action-packed Thriller with a decent Seagal & made on a small budget but it delivered. I do genuinely enjoy most of Seagal's B-movies but "Absolution" is definitely one of the best made (cinematography, music, Seagal, action) & is as good as most big budget movies.

Fighting scenes aren't bad! 3/10

Review: This is another one of those low budget action movies, with terrible acting and a silly storyline. Steven Seagal is hired to take out a drug dealer and uncovers a drug ring that involves trafficking and prostitution. One of the girls escapes a torturer and just happens to run into Seagal who, against his morals, uses his skills to save her. She then gives him information to take-down the drug and prostitution lords with the help of his trusted friend, Chi. Seagal, actually wasn't to bad in the movie and I liked the relationship between him and Chi, his sidekick, but the film looked cheap and some of the acting and one liners were awful. The action scenes weren't bad that bad, especially from Seagal & Chi, but it's predictable from the beginning to end. I wasn't expecting that much from the film, so I wasn't overly disappointed. It's basically what it says on the tin! 

Round-Up: It's a shame that Steven Seagal only gets the chance to star in straight to DVD movies because his cool demeanor and great fighting skills were great in movies like Under Siege and Marked For Death. After he started to put on weight, his movies became terrible and he wasn't taken that seriously in Hollywood so he must be starring in these low budget movies to pays the bills. Vinnie Jones has also become a straight to DVD actor who plays the same type of roles all of the time. Since his move to Hollywood from football, he has only started in a handful of big budget movies and his career hasn't really blown up like Jason Statham. It seems like he is also just starring in these movies to pay the bills! I did like Seagals sidekick, played by Byron Mann who starred in the terrible Streetfighter movie and had small parts in Red Corner, The Corrupter and Catwoman but the rest of the cast wasn't that great.

I recommend this movie to people who are into their action/crime movies about Steven Seagal taking down a drug ring. 3/10

A Routine Action Film...

A sequel to A Good Man, 'Absolution' is a routine action film, that has some absorbing moments. The storytelling is very 1980's, although some of the action bits are sharp.

'Absolution' Synopsis: John Alexander (Steven Seagal) is a contract killer. After encountering a girl on the run from a mob boss (Vinnie Jones) with powerful political connections, he is torn between protecting the girl and remaining loyal to the government agency that hired him for a mission.

'Absolution' clearly lacks an innovative script, but all said and done, some of it works. Especially the second-hour, where there is good scope for some hardcore, bloody action. Keoni Waxman's Direction is decent. Cinematography is standard. Editing is okay.

Performance-Wise: Steven Seagal is as usual, but he looks completely out of shape. Byron Mann does some terrific action here & is also the scene-stealer. Vinnie Jones is reduced into a loud villain. Adina Stetcu is average.

On the whole, 'Absolution' is, at best, a passable watch.

You know what you're going to get here...

I enjoyed watching the Steven Seagal movies back in the day, but sort of stopped watching his movies around the mid 2000s or so, and then just occasionally sat down every now and again when I stumbled upon a movie of his.

So it was with the 2015 movie "Absolution", of which I had never heard about before now in 2022 as I stumbled upon it by random chance. And yeah, I found the time to sit down and watch this movie from writers Richard Beattie and Keoni Waxman, but truth be told then I wasn't really harboring much of any expectations.

The storyline in "Absolution" is pretty straight forward, and it definitely felt like an archetypical Steven Seagal movie, for better or worse. And on that account you know what you are getting here. Sure, they guy is older and heavier now, but he still does make fair action sequences.

If you've seen one Steven Seagal movie, then you've essentially seen them all. But isn't that part of the charm of this former great action star?

"Absolution" was an adequate movie. It made for an okay watchable movie, where you just lean back in the seat, munch on whatever snack is at hand and enjoy the action. This isn't exactly a movie that requires your brain to be in overdrive; but then again, were any of his movies ever that?

However, now that I have seen "Absolution", from director Keoni Waxman, I can honestly say that it is not a movie that I will be returning to watch a second time.

My rating of "Absolution" lands on a generic five out of ten stars.

A return to form for Seagal?

Without any spoilers as a direct to DVD film this is one of Seagal better efforts. Please don't listen to the critic's Technically it's a well executed film. Seagal and Mann make a great team together and whilst Vinnie Jones is not in the film a great deal he's a very believable bad guy because quite frankly playing psychos is what Vinnie does best.

I rated It an 8 as an action film because the story and pace and action kept me entertained.

I do recommend this to fans of Seagal.

Please view for yourself and decide.

After watching so many cheesy, make-a-buck movies from Steven Seagal this one is almost better than his earlier make-a-buck flicks.

Maybe it's not entirely his fault that the last succession of movies he's put out were pure money-grabbers; I guess you could blame that on the producers and directors (forgive me if I don't know if he produced or directed them himself).

However, I personally liked this one and would recommend it as a decent watch. I've been a fan since the 80's and will continue to follow his attempts of good film making.

He seems to be an OK guy and his movies don't suck too much. I like them all, even the poor ones.

Steven Seagal needs 'Absolution'

As a longtime Seagal fan, I've come to the realization that his glory days are long over and that I'll have to settle for whatever he puts out since he's been essentially banished to the direct-to-video market. It's had its ups and downs, with more downs than ups, but he's been able to generally maintain a consistent level of quality (for DTV) that's been on somewhat of an upswing in the past few years. I didn't exactly fawn over his last two films, but they were decent enough that I was anticipating what he'd do next. ABSOLUTION is that "next" project, and despite being a slight step back from his previous effort, it was at least watchable and has some elements to recommend it to fans. The plot, as if it really mattered, is quite simple: Seagal is given an assignment to take out an Afghan playboy who might sell weapons to Iran. However, things don't quite go as planned and he ends up rescuing a young woman from human traffickers who decide that they want their "property" back and come after him. First, the good. There were some decently staged and filmed fight scenes that weren't overly edited, even though there were several moments that were most likely stunt doubles. Byron Mann, a semi-frequent Seagal collaborator, plays his partner and actually gets most of the good, longer fights although the climactic fight scene in a club was mostly worth the time spent getting to it and Seagal gets to vary his style a little more than he had previously. I also noticed a few callbacks to previous films, like ABOVE THE LAW and MARKED FOR DEATH. If you're familiar with Seagal's filmography, you'll know when you see them. I also thought that addressing human trafficking in a low-budget B action movie was pretty cool, although it isn't really treated with much depth. The bad stuff is mostly complaints one could draw from any number of Seagal films. The plot really doesn't make much sense and serves as the glue that holds together several action set-pieces. I also thought the dialogue was particularly bad this time around, and most of the actors delivering it didn't do a great job. The standouts were Steven Seagal and Vinnie Jones, who plays the big bad boss. Speaking of Vinnie Jones, he has quite a charismatic screen presence and despite his limitations, he does well given the right material. Having a little more of him (he's only in a few scenes) would have made the film considerably more enjoyable. Lastly, as expected there isn't much character development to speak of, but what little there was felt like padding. There was a scene where Byron Mann and Steven Seagal reminisce about the past and how they came to be friends, which was nice, but all they end up using from that scene is a single piece of dialogue towards the end. It had no bearing whatsoever on the plot. There was also several flashbacks to Seagal and what appeared to be his wife. Again, divorced of context this had absolutely no bearing on the story and just served to extend the running time. Overall, I'd place this quite low in the pantheon of Seagal films. It isn't so bad as to be unwatchable, like ATTACK FORCE, but it doesn't quite have the charm of something like INTO THE SUN. Still, even though occupying a middle ground as far as Seagal's DTV output, fans will probably watch this no matter what.

Third film of the John Alexander trilogy is dark and high-octane but predictable

An American action thriller; A story about John Alexander, a former U. S. special operations forces soldier. This film is a prequel to Force of Execution (2013) and a sequel to A Good Man (2014) where we saw him bring down a Chinese crime lord in Eastern Europe. Now we see him accepting a new mission from a government agency and encountering a girl on the run from another crime lord. Seagal is mysterious and edgy - a mercenary on the distant marshes of anti-hero. Any mystery about him is lost early in the story. Byron Mann's Tong hitman provides some relief for the deadly duo amidst all the violence. Vinnie Jones' cartoon villain and torturer doesn't put up much of a fight.

Grand Father Hero

In the movie industry, all over the world there is an age for the hero but if you take the example of Mr. Steven Seagal who is now 65 and he still come as a hero in movies; than what will happen to young actors when they become heroes? I failed to understand Mr. Seagal is hero in Absolution and his actress is a girl who is much younger than his granddaughter if he has one? This looks funny and clumsy; the same girl is kissing him in the movie that looks absurd and disgusting. I don't know what is wrong with the Hollywood movies these days heroes like Arnold, Bruce Willis, Van Damme, Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren and many other, these all heroes have crossed the age of 60 and they still are coming as heroes; either Hollywood has very less young actors or young guys are not interested in cinema or movie industry. I just wanted to highlight that younger generation should be given a chance to prove their metal and old grandfather types heroes should stay at home rather they are jumping and roaming around like teenagers that bad I mean really bad and it destroys the entire movie, so please look into it. I will rate this movie 2 out of 10 as the main hero is too old to come as hero, thanks.

Is this a Cartoon or a Big Steaming Pile of Ego?

No one has ever accused Steven Segal of being an accomplished actor. Even by the modest modest expectations, this is one of Sega's worst movies in decades.

Someone should take Segal aside and explain to him, slowly if needs be,that it is no longer 1988. That he is now a 64 year old man who is now a generation too old and a hundred pounds too heavy to play roles like this.

There is nothing about "Aging Gracefully" in this movie. Segal embodies every bad cliché' about vain older men from the shoe polish black black black hair to the absurdly ORANGE face make up. He tries to look "butch" and " macho" in a series of black leather outfits. He ends up looking more like an overstuffed sofa.

The only reason to see this movie is to check out what has to be some of the WORST make up done in any movie in the last generation. Segal's face glows a bright carrot orange while his neck is a pale white.. The demarcation line is shockingly evident.

The movie was filmed in Romania with a mixed bag of local talent. Byron Mann plays the "Asian Sidekick" who does all the heavy lifting when it comes to doing actual stunts. He also manages to steal every scene he is in with Segal.

Do yourself a favor... pass on this big stinking pile. IF you must watch this kind of movie, then go back and watch something Segal did twenty-five years ago.

Can't even find a cameraman with steady hands.

I have to admit I only watched it for the first 30 to 40 minutes, so I'm not gonna comment on the movie itself, it's as bad as it can be any way. The point is, they can't even find a cameraman with steady hands, most of the shots/filming, especially those when they were just talking and/or fighting, were too close and very shaky, as if it's a hand held personal camera bring you with me type youtube amateur made video, (most of the youtube videos nowadays have better filming qualities and techniques than this), the camera just wouldn't stay still, this alone makes me feel dizzy and nauseous. I've never seen a worse camera filming in Hollywood made movies, or most main stream movies in any market.

Good Suspense, Enjoyable Action - Few Bad Actors/Actress - Good overall

Apart from his superhuman (untouchable) nature in most movies (even against the best of opponents), I like Segal's movies and this is not an exception. If anything, this is better than many of his past movies and I could not believe the low rating on here.

For the benefit of those that are not that picky and just want some reasonable action, read my brief review below.

FOR:

I am giving it 8/10 because of:

• The suspense (was good enough) - The action (not the best choreography but enjoyable)

AGAINST:

The main thing I have against this movie is the bad acting of some of the actors/actresses especially the non-Americans.

Seagal fans will enjoy this, others probable won't. I will admit that it wasn't horrible, but the end really drug on.

"There are some sick people in this world, but if they have enough money they'll get away with anything." Nadia (Stetcu) is an escort who has just escaped from a ruthless and violent mob boss and is looking for protection. When she meets John (Seagal), a contract killer she thinks she has found her savior. Now John and his partner must not only protect Nadia but also take out the mob boss before it's too late. This is another movie that is almost review proof. Either you like Seagal or you don't. Nothing I can say will influence you one way or the other. As for me, I am not a fan. Watching this movie really shows how he has lost a step. The fight scenes are almost laughable. Rather than the karate he was known for it is just him throwing people around, I wondered why he was always wearing sunglasses when he fought and I think it's because it's easier for a stunt man to cover his identity that way. The dialog and acting is very, very…well Seagal like. There really isn't a whole lot more I can say about this. Overall, Seagal fans will enjoy this, others probable won't. I will admit that it wasn't horrible, but the end really drug on. I give this a C.

Mercenary: Absolution - Bit Better Than Expected.

It's raining today, so I've binge-watched several of Steve O's movies.

The story is quite simple, a Romanian girl (Adina Stetcu) is conned in to being an Escort with her sister; and later is brutalized by a Psycho (ex footballer, Vinnie Jones.) Of course our hero (Steven) steps in and shuts down the operation.

Another in the line of 'Alexander' themed movies and partnering up once again with the reliable Byron Mann. There is a side story of an Afghani selling secrets to terrorists and a bad Intelligence Agent from the USA.

Some pretty tough fight scenes from both Steven and Byron - ending with a pretty ridiculous confrontation between Vinnie Jones and Segal at the end. Vinnie has a reputation as a 'hard man' - but the thought of him even trying to best Seagal in hand-to-hand combat is ludicrous. See for yourself.

Still, worth your time if you don't have much else to do - or it rains hard.

Please SS give it a rest, and do gardening.

After seeing SS in this movie, and remembering him in his much earlier films(when he was younger and trimmer) seems he has long since reached his sell by date He looks absolutely disgusting and should be home changing the diapers of his great grand kids instead of trying for a quick buck with this crap looking the way he does. I would 100% agree with every negative comment by other reviewers on this movie, especially its ''star'' Hope Jason Statham does'not go that route.

Mann & Jones Try Their Best, Seagal Drags It Down

Continuing my plan to watch every Steven Seagal movie, I just watched Mercany: Absolution (2015)

A total mash up of dtv cliches. Vinnie Jones plays The Boss (that's his only name) and Steven Seagal plays John. "The only man who can get the job done" Alexander (Is this a sequel to Force of Execution and A Good Man, where he was also named Alexander??) the writers worked over time coming up with those names

This is one of the worst from Seagal!! There is a LOT of stand ins, stunt doubles and ADR. I'm pretty sure unless you can see his face, it's not him in every other frame. What makes it worse is they do not even resemble him most of the time. A decent Martial Artist named Byron Mann picks up Seagal's considerable slack. The movie could have just starred Mann and been perfectly watchable, in fact is have preferred it. Seagal and his doubles make this movie worse. I'm not sure who watches these movies, but considering I still have a fair few to get through, there must be an audience and they must be mostly profitable.

Seagal is just bored here, he brings nothing to this movie, he mostly avoids eye contact with co-stars, has no energy, no effort, in most cases no presence and except for the odd amusement at his jet black hairline and jet black goatee, he just brings the movie down. Jones does ok with what he is given, but he doesn't stand out like he should, but at least he is trying.

Watchable for Mann and Jones, but despite the editors best efforts Seagal drags it down.

Nice comeback by Steven Seagal !!!!

For fans of Seagal, this is a movie to rejoice....for the normal audience..this is still a good movie.....one has to accept Seagal's craftsmanship with the combat defence and added that with his deep expertise in Aikido..he still looks quite menacing and not a man with whom an average joe can deal with...he is solid, stocky and lethal with his combat skills !!! though everyone complains he is fat and not muscular...i deny this ....he just does not look ripped like stallone or van damme...for his age...he is fine and is convincingly acceptable as a veteran martial artist and a mercenary !!!! The movie has good dose of action scenes and is not boring at all though is predictive easily which is fine with me !!!! A lot of credits also goes to Byron Mann who does a good job as Segal's partner and has an equally meaty role !!!! His combat skills are definitely quite deadly as well and is also very smart, stylish and macho !!!! Overall a good action movie !!!!

good choice of words

I liked choice of words said both by Seagel and by chinese guy. It relates with my schizophrenia or schizoid personality disorders. Even without such conditions, I think they used good choice of words, which are understandible, such as to not trust anyone, and about losing hope. I liked both guys confidence, stunts, action, and graphical killings. I also liked that unlike in other Seagel's movies he did not leave girl but even entered personal relationship. Only things I did not like is bit too typical fighting and evasion of death, and bit unrealistic. But this is inspiring, motivating, fun, and satisfying to watch. Seagel looks like strong, confident, serious man, and has skills, and courage, and I understand him.

it seems Steven Segal knows his style of kungFu. Bryon Mann's kungFu style is weaker in this movie than his other movie. i would give more vote to this movie due to fact that Steven Segal's first wife scene has too much flashback memory. Vinnie Jones is a bit violent character and crazy for sex in this movie, he plays a bad guys in lots recent movies. the night club shown in the movie is fabulous i wish there is one in Canada or USA.

As for how Segel Movies have went in the past he did start with some amazing movies then hit a rough patch. It is obvious that with this movie he is back to the classic 80'2 early 90's action. Most forget that he doesn't practice kung fu or Karate Though he does hold a black belt or equivalent in four different martial arts forms. In his movies he uses a version of Aikido to disable or kill his attackers. It is not the slow snappy fight stuff you see in most martial arts movies. He never kicks above the waist, never attacks first he uses the attackers energy against themselves. Often manipulating joints and breaking bones. Now for the Movie, he does play a Mercenary that was part of a failed mission that did not result in the kill or capture of its primary target in the beginning. Does the movie build from there, yes it has a slow story arch and then its straight into the Segel action of the past. Is the plot horrible, no its actually pretty decent and there's no mumbling his lines are clear. Over all the dialogue didn't make me want to tear my ears off. The fight scenes are actually pretty good, He shows a short Katana in a wooden sheath and tells that its his preferred method of killing. I did see someone else mention that it looked like garbage and someone skipped on buying a better prop, also the same person had no idea what a Raptor Drone looked like with Hellfire Missiles as they showed one in the beginning of the movie. Obviously the design of the sword is for tactical field craft as you saw earlier in the beginning of the movie when he takes out a sentry it was tucked under his KIT that he was wearing. Overall this movie was hands down one of the best movies I have seen him in over the last five years. Great job, now off to finish the Trilogy.

Like His Fellow Former Superstar Nic Cage, Steven Seagal has Acquired a Pre-Conceived, Not Without Worthy, Hate that Gives the Grumpsters Enough Ammunition to Assume that Every New DTV Movie Featuring the Former Sleek Seagal will be God-Awful.

While This May be Warranted in Most Movies that the Multiple Black-Belt, Philanthropic, Kick-Ass Has Made Recently, In This Case He Defied the Knee-Jerks. It is an Action Filled and Brutal Movie that Fans of This Type Can, Without Apology, Recommend to Fellow Travelers.

Byron Mann is Outstanding with Numerous Fight Scenes and Cigarettes and Fills the Screen When the Star is Off Screen. Seagal Seems to Have Lost Some Weight and is More Engaged with the Sophomoric Dialog than Usual. So He has Corrected Two of His Most Glaring Inadequacies of Recent Years.

The Film Looks good and its Garish Colors Work Well in This Gaudy World of the Syndicate and Corrupt Government Agencies. It's One of the Best We Have Seen From Steven in Quite a While.

There is Some Clunk Like the Unnecessary Tacked On Ending Scene that is Inadvisably Ego Driven to Show the Sextagenerian with Sex Appeal and Includes the Often Referenced Musician Anti-Side to the Violent Nature of His Real Craft.

Still, If You Have Completely Lost Faith in This Bona Fide Action Hero, Check This One Out. It May Make You Rethink Current Expectations.
