Great movie
thuniw318 February 2016
My film instructor at USC told our class about the filmmaker Mr. Smith, they went to school together. He shared how it often takes years to complete a film, I think it took Mr. Smith over two years. I would have given up, but kudos to him for sticking with it. As a student of film and fan of the horror genre, I was highly anticipating this film's release. I just had the opportunity to see it on Amazon and I was thoroughly entertained. The movie has everything – humor, plot, substance, fright, sex, blood and awesome FX. I think this was Mr. Smith's first film, I only hope he continues to make more of them. Can't wait to see what's next, keep up the great job mate!

Entirely false reviews - again
ranwulfs3 July 2022
Another case of shills jacking up the reviews for a film so bad I at first thought it was a prolonged SNL skit. Unfortunately, it's a real movie. Some deluded person or persons ponied up a couple of thousand dollars to back this stinker, and got a tax write-off in return. Where do I even begin? The acting swings back and forth from community theater level to so bad it actually made my eyes bleed. Production values are unforgivably amateur, even for a shoestring budget. And the plot? Let's just say I hope every woman executed as a witch in Salem rises from her grave and haunts the writers & director for dragging them into this convoluted mess. Look, I don't mind films that try hard and still come up short. The movie business ain't easy, and getting a good story, good actors, a good script, AND sufficient financial backing is a rarity, so kudos to the ones that at least try. What I *do* mind is fake reviews from the production crew. This turkey is currently hovering above an 8 here on 'ol IMDb. An *8*. A clearer case of fraudulent reviews I've never seen. Footage of my 12 year old niece's violin recital was more engrossing, and filmed better, too. If I were you, I'd just keep scrolling through Amazon Prime for something better - it won't be that difficult to find. I hear there's a great documentary on underwater basket weaving that's a real hit...

Prosper Review
venitra_242 December 2014
Very good for Deronte Smith's first film!!! I really liked the special effects, but it wasn't as scary as I thought I would be. I loved the story line. I've never saw a movie quiet like it, and I would love to see a part 2. I can definitely tell that Mr. Smith really did his research on witches, voodoo, and the Illuminati. I believe this film is good enough to hit all cinemas around the world!!! I enjoyed this movie more than some of the scary movies produced by big producers. I truly believe this movie could be a hit. Most scary movies are all the same. The witch, the blood, the snake, and the voodoo doll, definitely kept my interest. I was anxious to see what would happen next. The actors and actresses were pretty good also. Mr. Smith did a good job with the cast.

Refreshing
granadusharris2 December 2014
Prosper was refreshing and a blast from the past. There aren't many horror movies today that revisits the roots of Hollywood. After years of failed attempts to create a true horror movie, someone has finally gotten it right. Going into the movie I was a little skeptical on would this even capture my attention. I was hooked after the first few scenes and found myself deep into the movie. I can honestly say this hasn't happened for a very long time. I applaud the director and cast for allowing me to enjoy a movie again. The cast was very seasoned and believable. You can tell the director was in touch with yesterday but still attempting to bring the younger viewers on for the ride. A definite edition I can't wait to add to my home collection and I'm anxiously waiting for the directors next project.
