Tremendous Love Story
sakram29 December 2017
Well this movie started portraying the general concept of the movie, a love story between a blind girl and a mere ex-badas* guy. It started slow and cool, but midway, it became interesting, such a change of events, revealing of the undisputed facts, but mostly importantly, great acting.

The Story plays a great role here, it is the most essential gem, and it was great. Such good directing and acting, such an amazing execution for the movie, last but not least, such a shame that it's Turkish yet won't get the amount of attention a Hollywood movie would. 8/10

Always only you remake of Korean Film
iramwyne24 August 2023
This story originally first made by Korean films . Its a remake of Korean Film call "Always, only you "(available on YouTube)which is based on an English novel .Many countries make remake of that film because #Sojisub was beyond brilliant in his role as a boxer and no girl could play blind as better as korean actress .their chemistry is just effortlessly real. Indian industry Bollywood made remake of it about 6,7 years ago and same Turkish films make a remake .its one of those love story which I would call it timeless and Purley based on language of love and human emotions.that might be the main reason that many adoption of this story in different languages seems effortless. I like Ibrahim as an actor but I think no one could even little close as good as Soji Sub was (Korean actor) in this role .

A decent Turkish romance

The story is fine and entertaining, but the actors convey almost no emotion.

about love. or only about a meet. one of the good examples of Turkish cinema precision in the art of romanticism and dramatic changes of the story. because, at the first sigh, all is simple. a blind young woman and a boxer. the growing up of love. events who change always, everything. and the shadows of the past. nothing original. maybe few traces of soap opera recipes. but the film remains touching at all. scene by scene. for its honest simplicity. for the admirable performances of the actors. for the tension. for the great cinematography.and this does Sadece Sen one of films about yourself. because it represents one of films with deep roots in your experiences. because preserves the flavor of old stories from the East but, in same measure, the bitter taste of contemporary every day crisis. because it is a real beautiful film. and this is the most important word about it.

Warning: Spoilers
I liked watching this movie during my university years, but later on I started to dislike this movie, it was a very low-button movie that tried to be romantic. Anyway, I'm tired of these kind of movies.

Absolutely Perfect
mersiyeg26 March 2017
Great movie. This is one of the best movies I have ever watched lately. I was totally captivated from beginning to end. Also, I am so against comparing with the Korean version of 'Always', due to different places, cultures, and identities in the countries.

Story was amazing first of all. The stars acted amazing, can't be expected more. Definitely, it will be my number one Turkish movie after now. "Ellerinize Saglik"

Dissapointed
eliara37124 July 2023
This movie has some magical scenes and the main cast are so talented. They have such good chemistry. But the second half of the movie is where the movie lost me. I felt they were really pushing the drama aspect. It had some real bollywood vibe. For example, the water and the swing moment, the boxing thing or like the health thing. Am trying to explain without spoiling. But instead of emotionally affecting me I was internally thinking "COME ON". This had so much lost potential. I would not recommend this movie, I rather send the best scenes on tiktok and people have seen what they needed to see. IT was alright, it made a nice movie night. It was just a miss for me.

A beautiful film and worth the watch
ttandb16 March 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I've seen the original Korean 2011 movie ('Always'; aka 'Always Only You') which was equally as beautiful as this 2014 remake. BOTH films deserving to be seen because BOTH male actors are sublime. BUT in the Turkish version I have to say that Belcim Bilgin (who played 'Hazal') was streets ahead of Han Hyo-ju who played the female lead ('Jeong-hwa') in the Korean version 'Always'.

Han Hyo-ju just didn't really put across the blind young woman longing for love and acceptance to the same level as Belcim Bilgin; the latter really made you believe she was genuinely blind, genuinely desperate to reach past the harsh walls that Ali had raised around himself, let alone his heart - someone who honestly saw the tortured soul beneath the silent, sullen exterior and wanted to soothe him.

Even though I truly adore So Ji-seob ('Cheol-min' in 'Always') and have seen so many of his wonderful dramas and movies, I have to say that Ibrahim Celikkol (as 'Ali' in 'Sadece Sen') absolutely nailed the tortured, introverted, wracked with guilt male lead in a way that, sadly, So Ji-seob just didn't manage. Don't get me wrong So was excellent and had moments where his emotions bettered Celikkol's, but on the whole the latter's portrayal definitely was so much better than So's. Celikkol's whole body language screamed of a man that didn't feel he was worthy of anything, let alone love.

There were moments where one actor outdid the other, moments when you would think 'So Ji-seob was SO much better there; or Ibrahim Celikkol nailed that far better than So'; but in the end Celikkol truly nailed the character. Overall BOTH movies really deserve to be seen - I honestly cannot stress that enough.

BUT if you're going to watch one first (or only watch one) then watch 'Sedece Sen', you won't regret it. But do try to see 'Always' too - it's just as good, background actors are better than those in 'Sedece Sen'; and, as it was the first of these wonderful, sublime and repeatedly watchable movies, you have to know without it you wouldn't have this winner either.

review on this movie
suzana200022 August 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I was planning to watch this movie for a long time. I remember Ibrahim Celikkol (Ali) when he acted in one of Turkish soap opera. Great actor! I absolutely love this movie. Different from I've seen before. The story is awesome.. I literally cried from 50:00 to the end of the movie. I was never so stunned by a movie. i thought that there won't be happy end, i thought Ali was dead, but he wasn't. i love that it isn't a stupid American movie which you can know what's happening and that you even didn't watch it. A beautiful romantic movie, perfect for romantic movie lovers. you should definitely watch it ! i recommend it to all! top 1 on my movie list!10/10 for this beautiful movie! you'll cry like you never cried before...

Surprisingly Good
swtsthng-259-8561304 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Not surprising, was the quality of acting by the leads. Ibrahim is always good, and this may be my favorite performance of his so far. The surprising part is the ending - as a frequent viewer of Turkish series, I was well prepared for a disappointing ending. But thankfully this movie didn't follow suit and all my tears were justified in the end. I will watch this one again.

A Masterpiece! Awesome! 10+ stars!
lindajean404422 March 2017
Lately I have discovered that watching foreign films with subtitles has given me the opportunity to enjoy some above average cinematic entertainment. This is one of the best movies I have ever watched. I was totally captivated from beginning to end.

I was only into this movie (Netflix) about 15 minutes when I realized I was watching a masterpiece. There was only one swear word in the whole movie with no nudity. So tasteful and refreshing. There is some violence, but not gratuitous, and only in part of the movie. Don't let the opening scene shock you away. This movie has a beautiful and uplifting ending. Kudos to the director and production team. They deserve it. I would never have thought I would love a movie made in of all places, Turkey!

Wonderful film, excellent main roles Celikkol & Bilgim
lourenco-6037019 October 2019
In my opinion this is a great film essencially due to the chemistry and cumplicity of the main role actors performed by Bilgin & Celikkol. The role of Hazal is brilliant, she really worked seriously on the blindness and consequently drama of the character. Ali (played) by I. Celikkol interacts amazingly with Hazal, his performance is incredible, not only because of his looks but also showing us a very good looking man can be an excellent actor. Surely all fans of this actors couple would love to see them much more often together on screen. They are just perfect together!

Hollywood doesn't make this kind of movies anymore....
anamontez22 September 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I must confess that now at my age, I'm not a movie buff of romantic movies or even Nicholas Sparks book's adaptation to the cinema , but until now for me the epitome of a romantic movie was always the famous " Message in a bottle " ,a 1999 movie staring by Kevin Costner, Robin Wright Penn and Paul Newman. But I suppose that my attitude is very influenced by the common sentence that " they ( Hollywood ) does not make this kind of movies anymore ". Well... until now ! But it doesn't came from Hollywood, but from a far away eastern European land - Istambul on Turkey! And it came with all the ingredients to make a delicious recipe, romantic movie style! 1 - the story - not a superlative one , but typical of a romantic movie with a lot of twists. 2 - Cinematography - close ups and landscapes , a marvelous job of contrasts. That frame with the couple near a dry tree in the middle of the sea is like a poem. 3 - Soundtrack - absolute divine, mainly Cent Celebioglu's tracks, a young Turkish composer.Take a look to the final theme. It is just amazing! It can't be better. 4 - And the last but not the least, the acting . A romantic movie may have all this previous characteristics, but if it hasn't a couple, with impressive screen presence , and a natural ability to performed it , what we usually call it a " great chemistry " , falls down on the floor. And Sadece Sen has it...and has it a lot! Belcim Bilgin, the Julia Roberts from middle orient , perform the role of a beautiful blind girl in a natural way. We even forgot that we are looking at a non-disable woman . Her eyes are full stopped in every frame. Ibrahim Celikkol, the ultimate romantic hero of Turkish films, excels on a role with extreme emotions, without saying too much lines, just a performance using facial expressions, body language and mainly his eyes. Also the tone of his voice reflects perfectly the emotions to transmit to the viewer. His eyes reflects everything, from deep suffer to the greatest happiness. 5 - two of the most adorable puppies that I've saw in a movie -the dog Simal and the turtle , representing each one a member of the couple. The circle is full only in the last scene.

Kitschy and predictable
sander-noels5 May 2017
I expected a lot because of the previous reviews. After seeing the movie I was surprised... The movie is full of cliché and bad acting. Since the beginning it was easy to predict what would follow. I also annoyed me with the super kitschy love conversations. Do not waste your time with this.

A perfect film
shirleyvineyard4 May 2017
I am totally won over by this wonderful film. The two lead actors are so special - what a chemistry there is between them (I also fell for them in Kordugum TV series until the writers did their worst!). The writing arc hit the spot. We are in the present, prosaically at the start, then slowly the layers of back-story are revealed. Is Turkish cinematography noticeably one of its great strengths? The TV series above I viewed after this masterful production seems to confirm that.

One issue I would take up with one of the reviewers, is the opinion that 'coincidences' were contrived; I don't agree. It could be expected that that ending sequence would quite logically happen. Normal? - not contrived soapiness!

No, I haven't seen the Korean version. I would suggest that some of 'boxer' scenes in mid-film are rather unpleasant, although integral and of kay importance. Eyes shut for me!

Watchng
judit_vega10 September 2017
Well, I saw the original version from Korea, and this one i recently discover it in Netflix... I'm still watching it, so, I hope the same quality, and to shed the same tears as I did with the original, because the story is tender at the same time is original and deep.

Maybe I'm so into dramas and movies from Korea, but at the moment, I'm not so into the adaptations that are out there, but again, I'm hoping this movie to be better than I expect.

Sorry for my lousy English... still learning.

One of worst films.
Behnam-sh205025 October 2021
A very poor copy of the Korean film "Always 2011".

This movie is copied second by second.

I suggest instead of watching this movie, watch the same original movie and enjoy.

Life lesson: soul story, life story
vbild12 March 2022
After the disappointment of the last 5 episodes of Intersection, I was especially looking for an appearance of the two actors. I found Only you .

Exceptional performance, the actors do not play their role, they live the role having completed very well. The script is pleasant, the story is a life lesson. This is a good way to learn not to leave anyone behind and to know that the mistakes of the past will come to you someday. The two actors gave life to the two characters of the movie from one moment to the next moment. You, the viewer, begin to love the actors in everyday life, not just the role of the movie. If I think about it, this is the role of each actor: to be loved in every movie :)

Gut wrenching
geeakyol29 July 2022
I watched this movie last night. All I can say is I am still thinking about it. It is unforgettable. Acting is beyond superb. The chemistry between the main characters is simply incredible. Not to be missed.

I am also relieved that it was a happy ending. I could not have survived another ending like "A girl named Feriha" although that was also a fantastic series.

World needs more of such movies these days.
