Bad

Warning: Spoilers
The film is bad in general. But it has a good idea. Yes , maybe "Recep" is rude but he is doing everything for children and their game area while humans we described kind are stealing children's game areas.

In this manner, the film's viewpoint is successful and meaningful but if we talk about "comedy", the film couldn't pass .

Recep Ivedik film series should be end with this film. Because there is no enough new comic phrase for Recep.

Thanks for "Sahan Gökbakar" for this series.

They were a new approach about comedy films in Turkey.

We hope from his to come with new comedy approaches.

Everything wrong with Turkish cinema
GuiltyJames22 February 2014
Recep Ivedik is an example of cinematic parasitism. It is a product created solely to profit from as many people as possible by providing as little content as possible.

Outliving the sympathy generated by its humble beginnings, the series has become stale, endlessly recycling the same subject matter of a (once) lovable crude protagonist against the elite intelligentsia of the country. A mixture of slapstick and juvenile scat humor, it accomplishes nothing in the realm of comedy.

A crude, cheaply filmed waste of time which is a shame considering the brave and creative strides Turkish filmmaking has taken in recent years.

Technically embarrassing, this is one of those rare films which actually take an entire cinema industry backwards in progress. 2/10

This film just been admitted to a silly way to make people laugh.

The screenplay and editing of the film is very poor.

This film the worst comedies in Turkey.

I would not recommend this movie.

This film shameful disgrace.

Broad Comedy of the Carry On Variety from a Turkish Perspective
l_rawjalaurence23 February 2016
The RECEP İVEDİK franchise is inevitably going to attract a variety of opinions. It is not "great" art but an attempt to create films that are essentially plot less, full of lewd jokes and sexist humor, guaranteed to appeal to mass audiences.

Yet the basic tone of the franchise is no better and no worse than the CARRY ON series, that ran to 25+ films from the late 1950s right through to 1992. There is the same combination of familiar characters, contrived situation and scatological jokes, even though they are slightly ruder in the Turkish franchise, covering all bodily functions one could possibly imagine.

For what it is worth, the "plot" has our hero (Şahan Gökbakar) joining a television quiz program that has him transported to a desert island. Inevitably he comes out first, triumphing over a galaxy of fellow-contestants much prettier and more attractive than he. The only weapon he possesses is that of talk; for the most part he grinds people down through sheer weight of words.

The cinematic style is rudimentary: director Toğan Gökbakar constructs the action in a series of shot/ reverse shot sequences and close-ups designed to show the star off to best effect. Gökbakar takes full advantage of his opportunities; one has to admire his verbal virtuosity, particularly when insulting those who cross his path.

RECEP İVEDİK 4 should be taken on its own terms for what it is; a star vehicle intended purely to make viewers laugh. On such modest terms, it excels in its task.

Good Film

Warning: Spoilers
Recep Ivedik coaches the children's football team in his neighborhood. For training, they use the only vacant area of the neighborhood, the land where he has played football since he was little. Recep learns that this land has been sold to a contractor. In order not to lose this very valuable land for the neighborhood and the children, he decides to buy it on his own. When he couldn't collect the money for the land with the methods he found (collecting money from the coffee people, trying to get a consumer loan from the bank, trying to sell his kidney and other organs), a challenging and laughter-filled adventure awaits Recep, who finds the solution to participate in a competition with a grand prize.

Great Balkan humor
hrisito22 July 2014
The movie contains a lot of fun momentс and humor specific for the Balkan countries. Recep Ivedik is strong and tough, a man of his word. Sometimes he is little silly, but very honest and even likable. His harsh tone is very typical for the country. What makes it so fun is that Recep is actually right with everything he said. The way he achieve his goals is hilarious. There is nothing impossible for him. To understand the movie, you should be familiar with the Balkans manners and customs. Some people with get offended of the rough attitude of the main character. But as you watch more movies with Balkan humor, as normal this will appears to you. Enjoy the great movie !

Great movie but not for all types of audience
danielkapitanov20 November 2014
This film is a wonderful and refreshing comedy. It portrays the typical funny, low class, and stupid in an over-exaggerated way person in Turkey that fits the stereotype of the eastern European low class person as well. Undoubtedly, you will have a much greater laugh if you are a native speaker since Recep Ivedik's use of language is so brutal and simple, not in a too vulgar way which is the thing that makes you laugh the most throughout the comedy scenes. His personality and arrogance are portrayed very well as well and you successfully get the idea of what type of person Recep is. I didn't get bored at any point of the movie and found myself laughing out loud on several occasions which usually happens rarely. Would not recommend to American audience though.
