    Cracking second episode.

Kate's daughter Lily is kidnapped, forcing her family to take matters into their own hands, Uma is forced to hand the case to Jim, prompting Crozier to try and discredit him. Jim has Kim'a parents' evening, but opts to put the case first.

I just don't recognise the criticisms aimed at this show, honestly the comments I'm reading, surely don't relate to this show. This was an excellent second episode, it's a cut above most of what I've seen on the box in recent times.

The characters are so strong, each and every one, but I particularly like Margaret and John Blakeley, Stephen Wight has been terrific in this, I don't think I've ever seen him perform like this, so strong.

I somehow don't think that Alves was the killer, I still think it's someone else.

    8/10.

Police boss Uma Dalal hands the murder of Cate Wakefield to Barney Crozier.

While Bergerac gets to deal with the case of the abduction of Lily Wakefield. Both detectives are asked to play nicely and cooperate with each other.

Bergerac is also ordered to attend therapy. He might need it as mother in law Charlie Hungerford wants to send his daughter to an exclusive private school.

Charlie also inadvertently leads him to an important clue. Just who might have kidnapped the baby.

The individual story worked fine here. It was not that deep but at least it did not involve Bergerac moping about and feeling sorry for himself.

It was good that the rivalry between the two detectives was pushed to the back.
