Light humor and feel good series.

Norwegian film had absolutely gotten better, and this is a good example of it. Neste sommer (next summer) is a light, feel good sit-com about an extended family going back to their cabins, on the same vacation spot every summer.

This is very typical Norwegian so a lot of us can relate. Of course it's a lot of embarrassing situations all the time, mostly because Evas husband Per Ivar, while good hearted, is very clumsy and a bit proud, so he seldom asks for help even though he's not a very handy man.

Evas rich brother with a light anger management problem also makes a lot of complications with his views on life and way of being.

Put in-laws in the mix and you have complete chaos.

The script is well written and it's a series you can watch with your teenagers. I don't think small children would see the humor in this, but it's nothing you can't show them.

I have loved this sit-com all the way up till season 11. Season 11 and 12 are not as funny. They might have used up the concept or they might have script writers who are sick of the whole thing.

The loveable characters are suddenly not as charming and it's just a long series of embarrassing situations without meaning or humor. Most of it just plain lying which of course don't go well.

I would still recommend it, it's funny, a bit quirky and a way of life I am sure most Scandinavians at least will recognize.
