Bad acting done well
Hopstimop1 May 2016
If you want to learn, how to act bad, watch this movie.

I don't know if it's the bad writing of dialogs or the actors having no clue about acting or both together, but it's really bad.

I can't point out why it is bad, because some of the actors seem to try really hard, but they just can't. I assume you can't act good with shitty dialogs, so even if some of them could act, they weren't able to. Just like famous actors couldn't act to Lucas' Star Wars Episode I- III too.

I gave it 3 for effort.

This movie doesn't deserve ten lines of review, but IMDb made it mandatory, so I am writing something here.

Who am I?

Warning: Spoilers
Alex (Dean Alexandrou) is taking an experimental drug for the military in Thailand against his will. He is rescued and relives the same 30 minutes over again like "Ground Hog's Day" as he attempt to figure out what is going on. The drug distorts time, wipes memory and Alex is regaining his memory slowly, although I was a bit confused about why he was reliving his life after he got killed. I mean when I die in my dreams I die in real life.

I kept watching him fight the bad guys who at times would drop their guns and fight hand to hand. They acting wasn't solid. The early exchange between Michael Aston and Richard Dee-Roberts was a tritely written scene, poorly acted which set the pace for too much of the film.

Frankly I got tired of watching "40 minutes ago" signs on the screen with the same scene being done over and over. What did they shoot? About 30 minutes and stretched it into an 85 minute film.? Parkour, martial arts, shoot outs...over and over again.

Guide: No swearing, sex, or nudity.

How did it score a 3.3???

Warning: Spoilers
I've ticked the Spoiler box just in case although I don't really think it does. But in any event, it left me confused as hell so spoil that!

Hmmm... The accusations of fake positive reviews themselves sound fake although the film is full of problems.

Really poor dialogue is the most noticeable. The writer is also the 'star' AND the producer (who's Mummy & Daddy have lots of money, then?) and, yes, the actors could be better and the action scenes are generally hum drum and unimaginative although the performers are very athletic. Yes, the direction is iffy and the script could do with some serious tightening. And, er, well, the sequence of events - ie. what's happening is definitely confusing.

The continuous flashbacks is annoying in the extreme. If I see another movie which starts with a denouement and flashes back X minutes/days/weeks/months I'll not only scream and walk out/switch off, I'll be straight back here and posting a 1 review! If the story's not capable of being told in a linear fashion and needs to show an 'exciting moment' in order to keep the audience in their seats, it needs another writer or another audience. Probably both! But I digress... This doesn't quite do that.

Essentially, the 'hero' keeps reliving the last 30 minutes, but does he remember the previous 30 minutes or is each one new? That's never really clear.

The most totally unexlained thing - and common to many movies - is that the antagonists seem to want the protagonist alive but shoot at him when they're chasing him. How does that work? Come on, writer/director, get your act together!

A favourite line - "Why don't I remember anythink!" Oops, whose accent is slipping? Oh dear...

It's a nice idea - or at least an interesting one - mangled by dire dialogue, poor story flow and iffy direction and editing.

So why watch it? Well, I'm a glutton for anything to do with time travel. This actually isn't (at least I don't think it is) but, alas, with this movie my gluttony got what it deserved!

garbage....positive reviews are fake
raidenspirit29 April 2016
This film stinks pure and simple. the positive reviews are fake and obviously from family, production crew or friends. the action is so lame and been done so much better, this is on the laughing scale, the acting is some of the worst ever witnessed and anyone who says otherwise is lying pure and simple.if i could give this turkey -10 i would of its really that bad..go watch it if you like for s**ts and giggles with mates and some beers and laugh at how bad it is. if anyone says this was good then they wouldn't know a good film if it slapped them round the head.

this film is beyond awful...its pure garbage of the highest order.

hopefully they wont make anymore or if they do firstly get a clue how to act, direct and give it some budget.

super pants pants

Absolutely awful
yordan-319063 May 2016
All positive reviews for this movie are fake. This is a very cheap and poorly made film with amateur acting, stupid plot and they had no idea how to end the movie. After only a few minutes of the start it becomes glaringly obvious that the actors cannot act, the dialog is silly and the whole thing does not convey any emotion at all. It is a struggle to understand what the idea is and you are left feeling that this was a total waste of time. Whoever reviewed it with 4 or more stars is most likely associated in some way with the producers or the cast. There is simply no justification to award it anything more than a big fat zero. Avoid!

-1000

Just two words, Beyond awful. This film is beyond awful without any doubt. the action is so lame. directing is more than lame. story is messed up. the dialog is messed up. the idea is messed up, you can sense that the guy is acting and also acting stupid. the acting is some of the worst ever other than the director himself which i think is 18 years old.

i will gladly give them -1000 if its available. its really that bad. i just don't remember any movie worse than this one.

don't waste your time again don't waste your time. trailer is a trap don't see it.

A great surprise!
baekms10 January 2018
I read the critics and I must say, without doubt not legit at all. Jealousy? or? I watched the movie without knowing how it would be and didn't expect it to be so good. But the idea was nicely done, the filming was great and some fights very very top! I refer for exemple to the big fight scene near the temple between the Captain and Alex: to me one of the best fight scenes. The contrast between both, and an absolute action packed fight. Honestly better then most of the Hollywood martial arts fights seen. Maybe some parts were too long but overall an action movie to be discovered. You will find some hidden action scenes/ fights you will be surprised of.

A "respectable" indie Martial arts flick.
francoismequer5 May 2016
Hello everyone,

First of all I would like to say that I have nothing to do with the production of this film but I am also working on the independent scene (feel free to check my work). I have read some very harsh reviews and I believe this film simply doesn't deserve them. You may like the final product or not but you also have to understand that it is incredibly difficult to make an independent film and these guys managed to make an action/martial arts flick with a story that allowed them to do so (lots of compromise involved I'm sure). This probably meant very little money to make the film and even less/no money to gain. Most independent artistes do what they do for the love of the art (or Action) and not for the money. They created some cool action/martial arts scenes and when you focus on making this kind of film, you don't always have the equipment quality nor the luxury of time to do everything well. Remember this is not a studio film, it's not like they had a huge budget for the film and failed to deliver. They did a small action film with everything they had and worked hard and fast to make the film happen. when you deal with action & stunts, it takes time to get everything right at once and it is time consuming. When doing so, it leaves little place to focus on the acting which becomes secondary. They intended to make an action film and focused on doing that. An action flick with talented stunt actors. Well done guys! Give these guys a bigger budget and I'm sure they will surprise you!

Low budget but definitely worth the watch.
b-8406331 March 2016
This is a clever little indie action movie with an original take on the "memory" concept. Mid-way between a martial arts flick and a sci-fi movie, it has definite appeals to both audiences, with a few slick fight sequences and enough of a brain teaser to keep you thinking for 85 minutes.

The director and stars all do a good job of keeping the plot moving and getting to the next story part without slowing the pace down.

It does look cheap at times, and the dubbing isn't great, but the music score is epic and makes it feel like a much higher budget production.

If you don't mind lower budget movies, then this is definitely a good one to watch.

Bad acting, but good action and a great twist!
sarastro715 May 2016
No, this movie isn't going to win any awards, esp. because of its frequently atrocious acting and dialogue, BUT, those things are just placeholders. The real substance is the martial arts scenes and great stunt choreography on the one side, and the pretty astounding sci-fi/time viewing twist on the other. Ambitiously, this movie is trying to be "Memento" by being based around a plot about an experimental drug which simultaneously makes you forget the past and foresee the future! From a sci-fi point of view, it's not bad at all, even if it does seem to me to end with a logically impossible (but illuminating and satisfying) paradox. This is a pretty good and worthwhile movie if you are a fan of both martial arts movies and sci-fi, like I am, so I actually think this movie is impressive - and, of course, underrated.

My rating: 6 stars out of 10. I might have given it 7 if it didn't have so many repeating scenes. But it was nicely put together under the circumstances. And very cool moves by writer/star Dean Alexandru! Sadly for this movie, it is too smart for its usual target audience of action movie fans, who consequently give it a very poor rating. You actually need to have your brain switched on when watching it. Otherwise you're not gonna get it.

A real action rush!
craigfmason31 March 2016
This reminded me a lot of the old Hong Kong movies with plenty of well choreographed fights, and stunts that make me want to go outside and do something stupid. The lead (Dean Alexandrou) is particularly impressive, and his genuine skill really shows through. In fact the whole cast were great.

Makes me wish more action movies had this kind of raw talent instead of pretty faces who can't roll with the punches (pun intended). The premise is interesting too, and blends a sci-fi element with plenty of solid action sequences.

All in all, a great low budget martial arts movie that i'd be happy to watch again. Highly recommended for all action lovers.

Terrific
harcdorehenry7 April 2016
Terrific little movie.

An original and interesting concept for a small budget Gung-Fu movie. I enjoyed watching it. Selina Lo is gorgeous. It is a pity there is not more of her fighting. Ideally on the beach.

There were tremendous fights and they should have been longer. The plot was a bit confusing, and I am not certain I fully understood it in all the details, however I thoroughly enjoyed the way it played out.

Everyone involved gives a heart-felt performance, giving this film a great shot of competing with more well funded competition. I look forward to the sequel!

Interesting story, impressive stunt
cordelialeite5 May 2020
The main character's stunt is just amazing! The story is an interesting concept although has some confusing points. I found places to be depressing but doing an independent movie is not easy to do. That did not stop them, they did with what they had. Kudos for that!
