During the NFL meeting, only 31 of the 32 team owners are present. This is because the Buffalo Bills did not have an owner when this episode aired. The team was owned by Ralph Wilson from the team's founding in 1960, until his death in 2014 at the age of 95. After his death, Wilson's estate reached an agreement to sell the team to Terry and Kim Pegula, which was approved by the other NFL team owners on October 8, 2014.
In the previews for this episode, Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III can be seen when Redskins owner Dan Snyder confronts Cartman about using the Redskins name for his company. Early in the 2014 season, Griffin was injured and replaced by backup quarterback Kirk Cousins before this episode aired. Trey Parker and Matt Stone followed suit by replacing Griffin with Cousins in the same scene.
At around 7 mins 30 secs, there is a newspaper with references to the next two episodes written in bold letters. The first says Ebola deaths keep rising, and the second says controversy strikes pop world.
