Daphne and Maddie are working on a new song that she wants to play for Deacon. Teddy says she's doing poorly in school and until then he's taking away her guitar.
Gunnar meets up with Zoe and Avery and tells them they should not give up on the band. Avery is skeptical of doing the band thing again. He says it's better to stay friends while they still can. Zoe says it might be better to keep it casual and do for fun. Gunnar is bummed.
Glenn and Juliette are welcomed by Bucky, Rayna, and Tandy to talk about her joining Highway 65. Juliette wants to release "Don't Put Dirt on My Grave" as a digital download. Rayna and Tandy think she should use her remaining tour dates as a charm offensive and start work on a new album to redefine herself. They also want to drop Luke from her tour. She and Rayna talk alone. Juliette wants to make a big splash announcement and Rayna wants to hold off on talking about their involvement with each other. Juliette says she wishes she'd known her Highway 65 signing bonus was a gag order. Rayna tells her to be patient and trust her and start by coming to her party that night and start mending country industry fences.
Deacon asks Megan if everything is okay in the morning in his kitchen. She says everything is fine. He apologizes for being gone so much and says he will postpone some dates to spend time with her. She says that sounds nice.
Maddie arrives with Teddy. She wants to play her new song. Teddy tells Deacon about Maddie's grades slipping and wants Deacon to be a positive influence where school is concerned. Megan sees Teddy on the way out. They exchange terse hellos.
Layla comes to Will with a bag of new lingerie to spice things up. He asks her why. She says it's been awhile and she worries that he's bored. Brent arrives on their doorstep to see Layla. He's her new manager. He tells them that Juliette is kicking them off the tour. But he booked Layla a new gig. Will is hopping mad.
Rayna and Scarlett listen back to her three Liam tracks in the studio. Rayna says she has her eye on two producers for the rest of it but they're not available at the moment and maybe she should go back on tour. Scarlett wants to work with Avery as her new producer. Rayna gives it her okay.

Teddy goes to see Megan about setting up a victim/offender reconciliation council and wants her on it. She thinks he's making excuses to spend time with her and says she will give him names. He says he wants to talk about what happened. She says it was a mistake and she's with Deacon and she knows they'll bump into each other because of Maddie but he needs to go.
Will shows up at Juliette's and she tells him she can't reconsider his spot on her tour. She says it's nothing personal. He pleads his case. She says he's great and she wishes she could keep him but it's all business and she's not going to boost Edgehill's album sales by promoting their artists on her tour. She says she's sorry and he says he is too since he thought they were friends.
Layla plays her gig at the Franklin Theatre. It is well-attended. Luke shows up and sees Brent. A fan takes a photo with Will and notes that his older sister knew him back in high school and his band with a guy named Tyler. He asks what happened to that guy. Will says he doesn't know.
Scarlett goes to see Avery to ask about him producing her album. He notes that Juliette and he are dating so it might be complicated. Scarlett says everything is so complicated now so no problem, and she's sold him to Rayna. He says okay.
Gunnar checks in with Zoe and she tells him about her good audition. She didn't tell him about the others because she didn't want him to know if she failed. Gunnar is surprised she wants to sing for a living. She says she doesn't want to be a waitress forever and she likes to sing so why not get paid. She says the audition is for a national tour, she's not sure who yet.
Layla finishes her set and she and Brent tell him they have an idea for them to tour together. He says he needs to check with Jeff since he has a 360 deal.
As Luke and Rayna get ready for the party he tells her that Jeff asked him to bring Luke on his tour. She says as much as she'd like to piss off Jeff and as mad as she is that Luke bailed on her she can't tell him what to do with his tour. She says she's sleeping with enemy, he likes that.
Maddie and Daphne come down to go to the party with Teddy and he disapproves of Daphne wearing make-up and how much Maddie is wearing. She says she's not a little kid anymore. He notes that means he can leave her home alone then. She notes it's Rayna's big night. He says then she better go wash her face and be a better role model for her sister.
Avery tells Juliette about producing Scarlett's album, she's mad that he turned down a deal from Edgehill through her as charity but when Scarlett asks a favor he'll do it. He tells her not to be jealous. She says she's not jealous but mad since she turned down that deal in part because of him and he's saying one thing and doing another by not riding her coattails but grabbing on to Scarlett's. He storms out.
The Highway 65 party is in full swing when Luke and Rayna arrive. She chats with the press and mingles as her new single plays.
Megan, Scarlett, and Deacon hang out in one corner. Megan say she's all his tonight. Scarlett watches Rayna and says she makes schmoozing look so easy. She goes to pop some pills.

Luke invites Daphne and Maddie to come to a show and Deacon comes up and Luke offers him a spot on his tour. Daphne and Maddie tell him to say yes. Deacon says he needs a day to run it by Megan.
Megan meets up with Teddy and tells him to leave her alone. He says he knows she's been thinking about him and living a life with a musician is no picnic and they make more sense together.
Will tells Layla about the Luke Wheeler tour. She's mad he didn't discuss it with her. She asks to get on Luke's tour. She says he's not helping her, sleeping with her, and now he's making plans without her and she asks if he still wants to be with her. He hems and haws.
Juliette chats with some country music radio types, they thought she skipped town for L.A. She says nope, she's here to stay. Scarlett comes up and the radio people glom on to her and literally turn their backs on Juliette.
Luke and Tandy are yukking it up. And then Juliette takes the stage and announces that she was signed to Highway 65 and that Rayna is shepherding her through her next phase of her career. Rayna is livid and pulls her aside to yell at her about her ruining her album rollout. Juliette says her patience was waning. Bucky and Glenn arrive and tell them the press wants to interview them both. Rayna says she will clean up this mess but Juliette is going to do exactly what she's told.
Gunnar and Will celebrate his attachment to Luke's tour. Zoe comes home and is seemingly sad. Gunnar hasn't been responding to her texts. He says he's tired of watching everyone else perform while he writes and now she might be leaving. She says even if she wins she loses because she doesn't want to be away either. He asks what they're going to do and she says they'll cross that bridge when they come to it.
Teddy confronts Maddie about not finishing her school project. He grounds her for two weeks: no guitar lesson and only school and music. She says he doesn't get it and should talk to Rayna. He says Rayna backs him up. She says they both suck and she wants to go live with her real dad. He says she's grounded for a month now.
Avery waits for Juliette at her house after the party. He heard the news. She says she just blew everything up and now she's signed to a label by a woman who doesn't respect her. Avery says Rayna respects her she just might not see her side of things and where one person sees as an opportunity another person sees a threat. She asks if he's talking about Rayna or Scarlett. He says he's going to turn the offer down. She asks if that's what he really wants. He says the album would be a good opportunity and what he really wants is for her to be okay with it so he doesn't have to turn it down.
Meanwhile, Rayna vents to Luke calling Juliette that little narcissistic self-destructive person. She asks Luke not to say I told you so. He asks if he wants him to ask Jeff to take another swing at Juliette and bail her out. Rayna doesn't want that and says she'll figure it out. She asks for something good or distracting to tell her and he says he invited Deacon open for him. She's not thrilled and says "Yeah, you and Deacon and Will go on tour and I'll just stay here keeping the label afloat with Juliette."
Brent comes to talk to Will and says he's been trying to calm Layla down. Brent advises him not to break up with Layla. He says he'll never expose him but the more famous Will gets the bigger the microscope will be on him and people may threaten him with exposure.
Rayna goes to see Juliette and tells her if Highway 65 fails she'll lose her house and they need to go into damage control mode. Juliette says she'll do whatever it takes. Rayna mentions her show at the Opry and she says she's got an idea for them.
Gunnar comes home and hands Will a package that came for him. Will looks at it and learns he gets a 45 minute set which Gunnar notes is "big time." Will doesn't seem happy and Gunnar asks what's wrong. Will tells him always focused on making it and not what happens when you do like people coming out of the woodwork that he's had sex with, like dudes. Gunnar jokes maybe Will's not that memorable. Will wishes he could do something to shut them up before they come out of the woodwork.
Maddie is in her room and when Daphne comes in she yells at her to leave her alone. Maddie then uploads a video to You Tube under the name "Maddie Claybourne."
Rayna plays the Opry and invites Juliette to sing a duet with her and she says it's a song she's never sung before. They sing. The crowd is full of shaking heads but the ladies power through it and eventually sort of win them over by sounding good together on a straight up country song.
Backstage Scarlett reiterates to Avery that she really needs him on the album.
Deacon tells Megan about the Luke tour, she knows it's a great opportunity and he can't say no.
Zoe gets the call. She didn't get the job. Gunnar consoles her.
Will goes to apologize to Layla and proposes to her onstage in an empty theatre.
