Great Look at the End of Oswald

Lee Harvey Oswald: 48 Hours to Die (2013)

    **** (out of 4)

For the 50th Anniversary of the Kennedy assassination, The History Channel produced two new documentaries with this one here looking directly at the final forty-eight hours in the life of Lee Harvey Oswald. Based on the new book by Steve Gillon, the documentary starts off on the morning of November 22 and follows Oswald up until the time that he was killed by Jack Ruby. Experts like Gillon, Larry A. Sneed and Gary Mack are among the people who discuss what all happened in his final two days. I will say that I don't recall another documentary where the people interviewed seem so full of energy as if they're jumping out of their seats to talk about the subject. This here is certainly a good thing because they just keep this film moving so incredibly fast and it actually draws you into the material even more. I really thought this was an excellent documentary and especially if you're a history junkie or just want to know more about what happened after Oswald pulled the trigger. Some of the best moments talk about how the lead investigator was trying to get Oswald to trust him so that the suspected killer would open up more and talk. With that said, since there aren't any records of what Oswald said I'm not sure how much I buy into this. Still, this is a highly entertaining look at the various events that led to Oswald pulling the trigger to getting a gunshot himself.

    A lynching in Dallas

The DPD managed to keep LHO alive for 48 hours, then lynched hmm in public, for all the world to see. Of course, the U.S. news media, print and television, didn't think this was news worthy enough to investigate themselves. Move along folks, nothing to see here... To Hell with the Dr's. at Parkland hospital, talking about an entrance would to JKF's throat. To hell with them describing how the Presidents right rear skull was shattered bu an exit wound. That's two shots folks, at least two shots hitting JFK from the front! Never mind the paraffin test that proved LHO had never fired a weapon. No, let's just do a Kronkite, and go with the lone nut assassin...... PLEEEEEEZE
