I grew up with Schofield in the broom-cupboard so when the story broke that he, as someone who was top of the UK celeb' tree for decades, chose to get a job for and then have a 'relationship' with someone he'd first met when they were pre-pubescent I was horrified. When he, like another spacey creep accused of gr0oming and assault, tried to blame the public's disgust on homophobia my blood-boiled. I'm not straight, and whilst in the C21st its really getting old that rich white gay men think its 'heroic' to lie to women they married and impregnated until newspapers force them to be honest, Phil's inability to tell the truth to his family is for his wife and daughters to come to terms with, however him choosing to have sex with someone who attended a stage school/theatre club, of which he is patron, as a child promising and delivering access to the industry to sweeten the deal is all of our business.
This show gives an alleged perpetrator the opportunity to have the kind fo extraordinary experience lots of people would love but could never afford, and reveal himself to be exactly the kind of person who is so self-absorbed, narcissistic, deluded and defensive that they may well commit the abuses of which he is accused.
He is also so vain, vapid and deranged that he seems to think that a) he can be 'forgiven' without admission or repentance b) anyone is interested in his feelings on the matters that blew up his ex-boyfriend's life, his family and his and his 'best friend' Holly's careers c) this jolly is a better use of his time than rebuilding his familial relationships or getting some psychiatric help d) he can con a career out of the British public again e) getting preteniously naked in the final 'scene' (his words) is a good idea.
Really curious as to who would commission this and what they've been up to behind closed doors TBH.

So very, very predictable. You just knew that Schofield would blame anybody but himself for the situation he has found himself in. This is nothing but self-serving rubbish from start to finish. I can't imagine what convinced a TV executive that this was worthwhile programming. If you are a huge fan, no doubt you will find this riveting viewing, but to anyone with at least half a brain cell it is no more than a puff piece designed to justify Schofield trying to get back into showbiz. He talks about being thrown under the bus when, in fact, it was his lies and deceit that have caused all his problems. Save yourself the trouble and don't bother. You're welcome.
Interesting how the few positive reviews dwell upon his unwise relationship or openly say they love him whatever. Personally I think it seems Schofield can be an unpleasant person for whom an unwise move in qeue gate brought his attitude to the fore and started the bus engine. His unwise relationship, which shouldn't be used to cancel him on its own and I don't believe it was, helped him fall not get pushed under the bus.
I realise his personality is not the sole subject of this review but it is highly relevant. Give him a platform to vent and it's impossible to keep up the positive nice guy for the whole ten days plus. The mask slips and we see the narcissist and true person come to the fore feeling aggrieved and victimised by events created by his own hand.
Extremely poor TV as it was netiher dramatic , entertaining nor educating and served only as a soap box.
I don't know who in ch5 thought this was a good idea but they've done no one any favours.

I decided to watch it, in spite of the negative reviews, and feedback from friends and colleagues.
Unlike some here, I was always a fan of Philip Schofield, a very talented interviewer, and someone with a nice guy aura. I was hoping to watch this, and see him put his hand up and say something along the lines of.....I made a mistake, forget anything like that.
All I heard, is woe is me, poor me, I'm the victim, what the man did was categorically wrong, he used his position, his influence to groom, and I'm sorry, but it's just wrong.
45 minutes of why Philip thinks he's innocent, the reality is, it's just way too soon for something along these lines, people have had no time to forget, all this will do, is reignite people's feelings.
Philip, you need a break, and so does the public, this was a massive misfire, and Channel 5 should be ashamed. My sympathy is still with your wife and children.
2/10.

This show has got to be the most narcissist thing I've seen in a long time. What was he thinking!
I've personally never been a fan of Phillip and Holly Willoughby. I even struggled watching them on This Morning. All they ever did was cackle. I looked forward to the holidays and Fridays when they weren't on.
So when the news broke about him and his indiscretions, I was relieved to hear that he may never grace out tv screens again.
Then I saw this show advertised. I thought I'd watch purely for my own amusement at seeing him embarrassing himself.
Yes he had an affair, which is wrong.
I think most people can admit that there's huge age gap relationships going on all the time. That's not the problem. It's the grooming. He knew 'Matthew' as a young school boy, mentored him, helped him progress a career within ITV then starts a sexual relationship with him. Making him sign a NDA. It all reeks suspicion.
After everything, he had three episodes to try redeem himself, but he didn't. He just blamed everyone else for his wrong doing. "Oh poor me, I was sacked and lost everything" Spare a thought for a young misguided lad who is reported to be troubled and has to live with all this.
Hopefully this documentary shows he's done now on TV and won't be presenting anytime soon.
