Best episode ever, broh!
adampkalb23 February 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I thought it was really cool how 1 plot of this episode with Rick and Morty's adventures spoofs Inception and then A Nightmare on Elm Street. This episode also has some really funny twists and the other plot makes us humans question how we treat dogs and how they would feel about us as a result. It had a lot of great jokes in it and it was a really great start to Rick and Morty. This episode was really creative with both plots, broh. Episodes like this one, Close Rick-Counters of the Rick-Kind, and Get Schwifty can prove than when the show wants to be optimistic, even if only for a few times, they can do that just as well as when they want to be pessimistic in other instances that diametrically oppose these episodes' views on the universe/multiverse like Rick Potion #9 and The Ricks Must be Crazy, broh.

The best part is that this episode is a lot more idealistic and less cynical than most episodes like Rick Potion #9, Raising Gazorpazorp, Auto Erotic Assimilation, and Total Rickall, putting the show off to a great start because in Lawnmower Dogs, you can root for most of the protagonists in the situations they are in and even the antagonists, Scary Terry and Snuffles/Snowball, become nice when the protagonists are nice to them. This episode also reunited Animaniacs cast members Jess Harnell, Maurice LaMarche and Rob Paulsen.

They tried to make fun of Inception and they succeeded. A fascinating and entertaining episode.

These plots are awesome, broh.

Warning: Spoilers
A-Plot is amazing. Rick & morty go down an endless inception-like rabbit hole of dreams to convince Morty's math teacher to give Morty an A in class. Meanwhile in the B-Plot, a past invention of Rick is now being used on the family dog, which gives insane intelligence to the dog. Eventually, the dog finds out how to alter the invention to boost his intelligence, which allows him to build an army of intelligent dogs and basically take over the world. Now the family has got to try to stop the dog, broh. In conclusion, both plots are perfect.

People Are Too Sensitive

So yes, this episode has some things I'm not fond of, but NONE of them are the 9/11 plane scene, which made me laugh and I'm Islam. Learn to take a joke people.

No, Islam does not want you to blow yourself nor others up.

-This episode is efficiently refreshing our minds on pets and animals and our behaviors towards them.

-It was a well-worn as well as a fine move to give dogs self-awareness or should I say the skills to rate our actions?..

  • Rick's calling the homework stupid and trying his way with Morty in sci-fi randomness shed light and raise questions upon our society and its values in raising generations that, when looking at the pixels on this cartoon we feel so touched and responsible at the same time. Good.

(P.S.:While in Mr. Goldenfold's dream sequence, Rick and Morty seem like terrorists, but the thing is Rick shouts out "Allah is the Supreme" and Morty's dressed up like an Arab. Please people, let's don't push each other away by belittling any culture. I know it is tempting as paradise, but don't.) :)

The Dogs Doo-dahs
southdavid3 February 2020
Much better than the pilot. This is, for me, the real start of "R&M" and although it's still a little rough around the edges, particularly visually, plotting and humour wise this is much more like it.

Looking to find a way to increase Morty's (Justin Roiland) maths grades, Rick (Justin Roiland) decided that the pair will jump into his teacher's dreams and subliminally place the idea in his head, "Inception" style. When Mr Goldenfold (Brandon Johnson) proves a much worthier opponent than anticipated, the pair are forced to go more and more inceptions deep to survive. Before starting on this quest though, at Jerry's (Chris Parnell) request, Rick provides Morty's dog Snowball with a device that enhances his brainwaves - naturally, this sets Snowball on a path to world domination.

So yes, this was a lot more like what I've come to expect from "Rick and Morty". It's not quite the "A" story / "B" story format, but it's much closer. Rick both starts and ends the "Snowball" story, despite going on his own adventure for the bulk of the show. It's a step up in plotting though, from the pilot - as it the "Inception" parody goes deeper and deeper, before hitting dream bedrock and having R&M having to work their way back up. Much cleverer and much more like what we're used to. There's lots of parody in this episode also, with the "legally distinct" version of an 80's horror icon, Scary Terry, giving us a look at Freddie Kruger's domestic life.

Much funnier than the pilot, although perhaps not the absolute best that the show would get too. The characters are much more settled and this is a much better place to start than the pilot.

Here We Go Again!
ihala-3911428 August 2020
Would you like it if anybody call the word Jesus out and has his grandson wearing like a sister and just started to shoot! You don't have to insert Islamophobic thoughts unless you know the real Islam! This episode just ruined my day thank to you :)

I couldn't come up with a dog pun for the title

Massive improvement over the first episode. The actual start of the show. The plot is solid and Snuffles (or Snowball) is adorable. Great humor too. For the pilot I chuckled here and there because of the pure madness that was being introduced to Rick and Morty. But this one actually had some solid humor. Oh yeah, and the side plot with Morty's homework is great too. The spoof on A Nightmare on Elm Street is amazing, and so is the spoof on Freddy Krueger. Overall, great second episode and a most definite improvement over the first.

Stop showing Islam like that. This generalization is certainly not well-intentioned.
