The debut episode of Whitepine has truly set the stage for an intriguing story. Despite the inherent limitations of being recorded within the game of Minecraft, Ivory has managed to create a compelling start. The episode exudes an English cottagecore vibe reminiscent of the 1800s, adding a unique atmosphere to the narrative.
The camera work, shot composition, and editing were all masterfully done, enhancing the immersive experience. The decision to lack in music in favor of the authentic sounds of a wealthy household was particularly effective, making the setting feel as realistic as possible within the Minecraft environment.
I will give it a 9/10, with the only drawbacks being some low-resolution moments in darker scenes, likely due to lighting issues. Also, a minor note-the episode still lacks a title :3.

Minecraft has always been a game with unlimited potencial to me, specially with mods. Sometimes, I think about how cool it'll be to see a professional working in this medium, some people did incredible work with this, people like killercreeper55, ish and another content creators made amazing works of art with their projects. But this... This is on another level.
This series just had his first episode when I'm writing this review, made by the new director Ivorycello, Wich is a conten creator that I've been following for a lot of time, and this is a 100% her Magnus Opus. Even though it's very early to put a 10/10 of the series, I'm convinced that she's gonna do a great job on it, specially after seeing her works in the past.

I'm a big enjoyer of indie film/series projects on YouTube and other platforms. The dedication required for a group of individuals to produce works on such a small scale is always impressive and inspiring - and Whitepine absolutely blew me away.
Period dramas are difficult; the set and costume design required to believably pull the audience into a story set in a different era is incredibly challenging with a small budget - but Whitepine manages to fantastically avoid this issue by... being entirely shot in Minecraft? Genius!! Using a sandbox construction game to build large set-pieces was a fantastic idea, and the entire world within the show is beautiful and well built - the locations are full of life, especially thanks to the stunning shaders that are used to make the whole thing look so stunning.
Visually, the series is beautiful - The lighting and cinematography is beautiful, with great framing and shot composition. This is easily the strongest aspect of the series - it really feels like it was shot by a professional crew of filmmakers.
The story itself seems to have a nice flow, and I'm definitely interested in the mystery unfolding. Much of the first two episodes has consisted of fairly straightforward setup, establishing a fairly large cast of characters, some of whom haven't done much yet but I'm definitely excited to see how the story will unfold. The way that Ivory is characterised feels grounded, and I like how the characters don't always need to say everything out loud to get the point across to the audience. It's simple, but a willingness to use Show-don't-tell goes a long way.
Overall, it's a very fresh, well-made series with a strong, unique visual identity (since, y'know, it's made in Minecraft). The voice acting and dialogue is at times a little weak, but that's a very common aspect of indie series where the voice actors aren't professionals so it can be easily excused.
Whitepine is a genuinely well-crafted piece of art, with clearly so much love for filmmaking and storytelling poured into it. Ivory is a creator with so much potential, I cannot wait to see where this all leads.

In the early days of minecraft, there were lots of machinimas (machinimas are filmmaking but using game software), and even a 40-min feature film (Minecraftian) This art of making minecraft machinimas eventually died, well not really, but kinda just wasn't popular as much as before. Machinima making is still being done up to this day, just not well known(eg. Nations Films). Whitepine changed the machinima-making landscape by introducing a million people into machinimas. Whitepine has served inspiration for countless filmmakers to pursue their dreams of making their own shows or movies. Thank you Whitepine.

This is a masterpiece in cinematography and storytelling.
The setting, visual effects and sound design perfectly complemented and accentuated the mood and tone of the story. It masterfully makes creates an eerie and unsettling atmosphere, perfect for the direction of the story. It is a very high quality studio-looking production.
The story itself is a whole other work of literature. It incorporates many elements of foreshadowing and subtle hints to build up the mystery and suspense. It also gives the viewer a chance to speculate what might happen next and make their own theories.
I can't wait for what will happen next in the story, definitely going to watch the very minute the next episode premieres.

It's better than the minecraft movie, What can I say? The visuals and camera angles are stunning, The outfits match, and the builds are amazing!
It takes care in using the camera as a piece to convey the story aswell, as if *you* are in Ivory's head and feeling her emotions, albeit we don't know what she's thinking.
And did I mention it's uh.. Not live action? Seriously, Mojang why? But, this series is much better than that damn movie, Give the series a watch. You won't regret it.
Now, what I hate about this series.
Nothing! It's a masterpiece in cinematography, it takes everything good about previous minecraft stories and combines them all in just the right amount. Watch it, Rate it. Trust me, stranger, You won't regret it.
