Another story about Lies and Deceit. It particularly got a bit repetitive for me as I watched the 9th episode prior to the 8th one, which runs along a similar path.
A fresher in the college is infatuated by a guy, who turns out to be a playboy, meanwhile her mother reluctantly finds a trustworthy friend on the web.
The story is more about common betrayal than "Side effects of Web". The episode breaks the typical "crime investigation and reconstruction" scenario and tries to showcase a rather "confession" of an episode. The cases shown in most of the crime documentaries are common but yet a rarity among many. But this episode shows a everyday story which happens to 90% of us. Not just teenagers, but grown up alike. Having being used and back-stabbed is something extremely common and relatable.
The problem is that the episode deviates from its concept "cyber crime". Yes, the web is involved but to a limited extent, rest is just a common betrayal story. It actually gives the "goods" and "bads" alike. Where the daughter is molested in web, her mother finds a trusting fiancé.
It was slightly disappointing to see the crime expert giving a "Do you know?" rather than "what should be done?". I actually always look forward to after episode tips, which in most cases are quite informative.
Direction: Nice.
Story/Screenplay: Average.
Acting: Commendable acting by the protagonist, special mention for the girl playing her friend. The male lead was pretty bad.
Music: Fitting.
Overall, a nice inspiring episode. Moving on is always the sensible thing to do.
