Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • A man scrapes his own fingernails off trying to get out from under an avalanche and is shown covered in bloody, with bloody eyeballs.
  • Like in the story 137 Hours, a man is forced to amputate parts of his own body - which is shown pretty graphically (as he screams).

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Jan escapes the Nazis by swimming in below-freezing water, surviving an avalanche and being shot at multiple times. They shoot his toe off and the subsequent gangrene provides several intense scenes where he might die of the infection. The other men who were with him are tortured and eventually killed. Several people who help him are caught and tortured.
