John Rambo Origin Film Begins To Take Shape With Sisu Director Jalmari Helander
Image
Millennium Media, the force behind action mainstays such as The Expendables and The Fallen franchise, is charting new territory with the Rambo saga.

Currently making waves at the Cannes Film Festival, the studio is shopping a prequel that will delve into the origins of John Rambo, an origin story that notably will not star Sylvester Stallone in the lead role (though a cameo isn't entirely off the table).

Millennium is financing the project and actively seeking distribution partners at the festival, with production anticipated to begin in October.

This trip into the past follows Millennium's previous franchise installments, Rambo (2008) and Rambo: Last Blood (2019). According to Deadline Hollywood, the film will explore Rambo's intense combat experiences in the Vietnam War, with directorial duties entrusted to Jalmari Helander, the celebrated director of the recent action hit Sisu.

The screenplay is penned by the writing team of Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani, known...

Gerard Butler’s 45% Rotten Tomatoes Conspiracy Thriller Will Flee From Streaming Next Month
Image
Gerard Butler has movies scattered across every streaming service, but one of them is due to depart its home soon. Butler stars alongside Dune: Prophecy veteran Travis Fimmel in Kandahar, the 2023 conspiracy thriller following a CIA operative and his translator who flee from special forces in Afghanistan after exposing a covert mission. Kandahar has been streaming on Hulu for months now, but the streamer has announced that it will depart the platform on May 31, which still leaves more than a month for Butler’s fans to check out the film. Kandahar finished its run in theaters after grossing only $9 million, and the film earned a 45% rating from critics but a solid 82% rating from general audiences on the aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes.

Mitchell Lafortune wrote the screenplay for Kandahar, and Ric Roman Waugh was tapped to direct the film. Lafortune’s only other writing credit in his career has come from Last Breath,...

Gerard Butler’s Best Action Movies
Image
Gerard Butler has had a varied career so far, with him playing everything from action leads to rom-com love interests to a singing Phantom of the Opera for Joel Schumacher. But, it has to be said that his most consistently entertaining output falls squarely into the action genre, and as far as Gerard Butler movies go, the action films will always be our favorites… so don’t expect to see The Ugly Truth on this list, but the Jennifer Aniston adventure The Bounty Hunter might scrape by. Or maybe not. Let’s see how it goes:

300 (2006)

Perhaps The film that put Gerard Butler on the map for most people, particularly the action and comic book crowds. Season 2 of the Has Fallen series is now confirmed by Canal+
Image
The Has Fallen series, which was spun off of the Gerard Butler movies — Olympia Has Fallen, London Has Fallen and Angel Has Fallen — will be getting a new season as confirmed by Canal+. The debut season, which was titled Paris Has Fallen, brings a lot of what made the movies successful to the show. Our own Alex Maidy says in his review, “Paris Has Fallen mines so much familiar territory covered in the feature films as well as countless other action shows on the small screen, but it does it with three charismatic leads who seem to be having a blast kicking ass through the City of Lights.”

According to Deadline, Canal+ CEO Maxime Saada confirmed the second season of the Has Fallen TV series in a statement made for Canal+’s preliminary full-year 2024 results. Saada said, “Studiocanal‘s first-ever global TV series Paris Has Fallen, based on the successful Has Fallen film franchise,...

Gerard Butler's Action Film 'London Has Fallen' Is Better Than Critics Say
Image
Quick Links'London Has Fallen' Pits Critics Against AudiencesThe President Even Gets in on the Action in 'London Has Fallen'

Without question, the Has Fallen movie trilogy written by Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt is one Hollywood franchise that should be analyzed and studied. Starring Gerard Butler as Secret Service agent Mike Banning and Morgan Freeman (in various roles), each of the three movies barely passed their budget in North American box office totals and didn’t receive the best praise from critics. Albeit, the first and third films — 2013’s Olympus Has Fallen and 2019’s Angel Has Fallen — actually lead when it comes to the two aforementioned categories. On the other hand, 2016’s London Has Fallen, which sees Banning escort president Benjamin Asher out of the vice of Islamic terrorists, seems to have taken an even greater misstep.

The second action flick in the series not only stands out...

Wtf Happened to Den of Thieves?
Image
If we’re holding up the all-time best bank robbery movies, a special place is reserved for classics like Bonnie and Clyde, Dog Day Afternoon, Heat, and a handful more. But when it comes to the most underrated recent cinematic bank heists, Christian Gudegast’s 2018 movie Den of Thieves ranks right up there with the most entertaining and hyper-violent examples like The Town, Point Break, Hell or High Water, and the like. Now that Gudegast recently unloaded Den of Thieves 2: Pantera on the masses this January, it’s high time to reflect on the making of the original.

While a tad long and baldly inspired by Michael Mann’s Heat, Den of Thieves was released in January 2018 to commercial success and middling critical acclaim. For those in the dark, the story concerns a unit of former Marines turned bank robbers called The Outlaws led by Ray Merrimen (Pablo Schreiber...

“We started prepping in November last year, filming starts I think in about a week or so…couple of weeks. Up until now it’s been a lot of weight lifting and rehearsing, but we’re about to get into it and...

Eddie Murphy Returns to Action Comedy as Retired Superspy in 'Blue Falcon'
Image
Comedy and Hollywood icon Eddie Murphy is all set to return to the world of action comedy, but not as Beverly Hills Cop’s Axel Foley. No, this time, Murphy will lead the original action outing Blue Falcon, which finds the Shrek star channeling James Bond as a retired superspy who finds himself in danger while attending his son’s wedding.

According to Deadline, Blue Falcon will be “a two-hander action comedy,” with Sony Pictures having now picked up the rights to the project. If the idea of Eddie Murphy as a retired superspy is not quite enough to have you excited for the action movie shenanigans to come, Blue Falcon has been written by Chad St. John, whose previous writing credits include the action thriller Peppermint starring Jennifer Garner, the Gerard Butler-led action sequel London Has Fallen, and the upcoming Motor City starring Reacher’s Alan Ritchson.

Eddie Murphy To Play A Retired Superspy In Original Comedy Movie Blue Falcon
Image
We don't know about you, but there was just something about seeing Eddie Murphy back on laugh-out-loud funny form in last year's Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F that felt right. Sure, Murphy's put in solid work in the likes of You People and Candy Cane Lane in recent years, but his return to the role of Axel Foley was a glowing reminder that the legendary funnyman still has it in him to lead and carry a big comedy star vehicle. And Sony clearly got the memo, as Murphy has been tapped to lead Blue Falcon, an original comedy joint hailing from London Has Fallen writer Chad St. John.

Per Deadline's reporting, Murphy is poised to take on the role of a retired superspy in St. John's film, with the rub being that his character will come face to face with an old rival while trying to build bridges at his estranged son's destination wedding.

Den Of Thieves 2 Proves Gerard Butler Has Replaced His $523 Million Action Franchise
Image

Gerard Butler Is Right - This Den Of Thieves Scene Is The Best Of His Career
Image
Gerard Butler once claimed a key Den of Thieves scene was the best of his career - and he's right. Audiences have had a long wait since Den of Thieves ended, which saw Gerard Butler's "Big Nick" O'Brien realize that Donnie (O'Shea Jackson Jr.) was the actual criminal mastermind behind the crew. Den of Thieves 2: Pantera sees Nick change sides, in a move that builds off his persona from the original. Nick was never the good guy, so his "breaking bad" makes a certain amount of sense.

It's been interesting charting the rise of Den of Thieves as a rewatchable favorite, with the film having been dismissed originally as a Heat ripoff. It's certainly that, but it's also got great characters, dialogue and action sequences of its own. Big Nick is one of Butler's best characters; an obnoxiously macho cop whose toxic habits have also left his private life a shambles.

Gerard Butler at an event for Law Abiding Citizen (2009)
Action star Gerard Butler has had many accidents while filming. He discussed this while supporting his new movie, “Den of Thieves 2: Pantera,” on January 10. The Scottish star shared some stories as the film’s director announced plans for a third movie in the series.

During the filming of “300,” when the cast frequently required medical care, Butler experienced his most dramatic moments. Butler told People magazine that “every day, someone was being taken to the hospital.” He talked about instances where players got hurt badly, including one getting a spear in the eye and others breaking their ankles during fight scenes.

The actor has faced danger in more than one movie. In 2012, Butler needed hospital care and a defibrillator after nearly drowning while filming “Chasing Mavericks.” He has also had some close calls, like accidentally hurting Hilary Swank while filming “P.S. I Love You” and nearly shooting Angelina Jolie...

'Den of Thieves 3' Has Already Been Ideated by Christian Gudegast
Image
Gerard Butler and director Christian Gudegast have become one of the sharpest filmmaking duos working in the action genre. The two worked together on numerous projects, most notably London Has Fallen, Plane, and 2018's Den of Thieves. The sequel to that heist film, Den of Thieves: Pantera, is out now, paving the way for a true franchise that could follow the characters Big Nick (Butler) and a clever thief, Donnie (O'Shea Jackson Jr.). In a recent MovieWeb interview about the action-packed sequel, Gudegast admitted that he knew early on that he and Butler would be a good team and would continue collaborating on projects, noting:

“[I knew] right from the beginning… he's a man's man, he's a big dude, and we just kind of got along right from the beginning. He was sort of attracted to the kind of stuff I was writing, and by the time we did Den of Thieves,...

Gerard Butler's $80M Action Thriller Becomes Streaming Hit
Image
Gerard Butler has long been a staple of the action genre, and it seems as if he's only leaned harder into this area of his career over the last decade or so. After becoming a big name due to movies like Reign of Fire (2002) and 300 (2006), Butler appeared in a handful of exciting action flicks, including RocknRolla (2008), Gamer (2009), and Machine Gun Preacher (2011). It was in 2013, however, that Butler's action hero persona really evolved.

In 2013, Butler starred in Olympus Has Fallen, which could be seen as the start of a new phase of his career. In addition to starring in two sequels to this White House action movie, including London Has Fallen (2016) and Angel Has Fallen (2019), Butler appeared in a mix of action-forward movies that varied quite significantly in quality, including Geostorm (2017), Hunter Killer (2018), Greenland (2020), Copshop (2021), and Plane (2023). There was one 2018 title, however, that really struck a chord with audiences.

‘Den of Thieves 2’ Director Talks Sequel’s Many Setbacks and Potential Threequel: “It’s Already Pitched”
Image
Den of Thieves 2: Pantera writer-director Christian Gudegast has the patience of a saint.

2018’s Den of Thieves, starring Gerard Butler, O’Shea Jackson Jr. and Pablo Schreiber, took 15 years to reach the big screen, overcoming the bankruptcy of Relatively Media and various other obstacles along the way. The would-be franchise launcher, despite mixed reviews, then became a modest box office success, grossing over $80 million against a $30 million budget. However, the action-heist film surged in popularity by way of the home market and a particularly vocal social media fanbase. Gudegast is beyond grateful for that audience, but he insists that the sequel was already in motion before their added embrace.

Development on Den of Thieves 2 began in February 2018, as Gudegast, much like filmmakers Taylor Sheridan and Jeremy Saulnier, went to great lengths to research real-life laws, loopholes and incidents to inform his fictional narrative. And just as production was...

Will Den Of Thieves 2 Or Better Man Dethrone Mufasa? Box Office Preview January 10-12
Image
The 2025 box office has so far been dominated by the final movies of 2024, but Den of Thieves 2: Pantera and Better Man arrive with hopes of potentially bringing the new year some early hits. Although the Robbie Williams biopic, where he's a CGI chimpanzee, received a limited theatrical release at Christmas, it only played in six theaters. January 10th marks the wide release of Better Man as it squares off with Gerard Butler and O'Shea Jackson Jr.'s sequel to 2018's surprise action/crime hit Den of Thieves.

The option for audiences to watch Den of Thieves 2 in theaters, and Better Man for that matter, is just what the box office needs at this stage. Mufasa: The Lion King, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Nosferatu, Moana 2, and Wicked were the top five earners at the domestic box office during the first weekend of January. With Vertical's horror movie...

Nosferatu Hits Major Global Box Office Milestone As It Becomes Robert Eggers' Highest Grossing Movie Ever
Image
Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu has crossed $100 million at the global box office, becoming the director’s highest-grossing film to date. Released by Focus Features, the reboot of F.W. Murnau's 1922 classic stars Bill Skarsgård as Count Orlok, a terrifying vampire who becomes infatuated with a young woman named Ellen Hutter (Lily-Rose Depp) upon her visit to his castle. Since its debut on Christmas Day, the film has brought in $69.4 million domestically and $100 million internationally, with its second weekend contributing $13.2 million across 3,132 theaters.

According to Variety, Nosferatu is currently ranked third at the domestic box office, and continues to outperform expectations for an independent film. With its $100 million worldwide earnings against a $50 million budget, it skyrocketed past Eggers' previous films, including The Northman, which grossed $69 million globally against a budget of $90 million, and The Lighthouse, which earned $18 million worldwide against a budget of $11 million.

Gerard Butler’s Critically Panned Action Thriller With a 93% Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score Is a Global Streaming Hit
Image
Gerard Butler has a new action sequel, Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, due in theaters in just a few weeks, but five years ago he starred in another action sequel that’s climbing streaming charts. Butler features alongside Morgan Freeman in Angel Has Fallen, the 2019 conspiracy thriller that follows both Olympus Has Fallen and London Has Fallen. The threequel has become a streaming phenomenon over the last few weeks, climbing into the top 10 Netflix global charts in the #8 spot at the time of writing, according to FlixPatrol. Angel Has Fallen also stars Danny Huston and the late Lance Reddick, and the film currently sits at a “rotten” 38% score from critics but a “verified hot” 93% rating from general audiences on the aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes.

‘Mufasa’ Claws Back At ‘Sonic’ Thursday, ‘Lion King’ Prequel Eyes $58M 5-Day; Focus Features & Searchlight Having Renaissance – Box Office Update
Image
Refresh for more…Mufasa continued to get from the count on Thursday, beating Sonic The Hedgehog 3, $12M to $11.55M. The 3-day and 5-days on these two family movies are expected to be close. Mufasa is currently looking to be the stronger at $58M. Running total through yesterday on Mufasa is $76.4M while Sonic 3 stands at $99.55M.

But enough about those filthy animals, the real story over the holiday are the classic labels, Focus Features and Searchlight which are both seeing record openings. Post Covid, Focus Features rose from the ashes this weekend to remind the town how hip they can make movies, the win here being Robert Eggers’ gothic vampire movie Nosferatu which is eyeing a $21.4M 3-day and $40.6M 5-day after $7.6M yesterday, the pic’s second day of release. At five days, that’s the biggest Focus Features opening ever, besting the Friday-Tuesday take of 2019’s Downton Abbey which did $38.4M.

The Correct Order To Watch Gerard Butler's Has Fallen Franchise
Image
In 2013, there were two high-profile Hollywood movies about terrorists invading the White House, and the brave Secret Service agents who stepped forward to protect a beleaguered President. On June 28, Roland Emmerich's excellent "White House Down" was released in theaters, and it starred Channing Tatum as the beleaguered agent, and Jamie Foxx as the president. The bad guy terrorist was played by Jason Clarke. "White House Down" also starred Maggie Gyllenhaal, Joey King, and Richard Jenkins. It was, for my money, one of the best films of 2013.

A broader audience, however, better remembers Antoine Fuqua's "Olympus Has Fallen," which beat "White House Down" to theaters by about three months. "Olympus Has Fallen" starred Gerard Butler as the beleaguered agent and Aaron Eckhart as the President. The bad guy terrorist was played by Rick Yune. The cast of "Olympus" contained more uncut starpower than "White House," as Morgan Freeman, Ashley Judd,...

How Does 'Paris Has Fallen' Tie to the 'Olympus Has Fallen' Universe?
Image
In 2013, two films were released, both of which featured the White House being overtaken by terrorists, and both leaving the fate of their respective presidents in the hands of one man with something to prove: Olympus Has Fallen and White House Down. The former stars Gerard Butler as a disgraced Secret Service agent looking to save the U.S. President, played by Morgan Freeman, while the latter features Channing Tatum as a US Capitol Police officer looking to save the U.S. President, played by Jamie Foxx. The differences between the two are negligible, but it would be Olympus Has Fallen that won over moviegoers, with the film taking in triple its budget, while White House Down barely broke even. The success of Olympus opened the door for two sequels, 2016's London Has Fallen and 2019's Angel Has Fallen, mercifully saving us from Eiffel Tower Down or MoMA Down. The...

"We’re Building A Franchise”: Gerard Butler Franchise Gets Encouraging Update From Director Ahead Of Second Movie's Release
Image
A Gerard Butler franchise has received an encouraging update from its director ahead of the second movie's release on January 10. The Scottish actor started his career during the mid-1990s with a small role in the James Bond movie, Tomorrow Never Dies. During the early 2000s, Butler continued to star in franchise films, playing the eponymous role in Dracula 2000 and appearing in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life in 2003.

After elevating his status with a lead role in Zack Snyder's 300, Butler went on to star in several more franchises, including lending his voice to the animated How to Train Your Dragon franchise. During the 2010s, Butler starred in the Has Fallen franchise, comprised of Olympus Has Fallen, London Has Fallen, and Angel Has Fallen. Butler's streak of action franchises has continued with Den of Thieves and Greenland, which will both be receiving sequels in early 2025.

Paris Has Fallen Season 2 Has A Great Action Star To Bring Back From The Original Movie Series (Not Gerard Butler)
Image
Warning: Spoilers for Paris Has Fallen below! If Paris Has Fallen's second season wants to tie back into the movie series, then it should bring back newly minted action hero Aaron Eckhart as President Asher. The three Has Fallen movies have grossed over $520 million worldwide (via Box Office Mojo), but in a bold move, the TV spinoff has virtually zero connection to them. It has no cameos or references and instead focuses on new protagonists trying to stop terror attacks in Paris. While a cameo for Gerard Butler's Banning was rumored when it was announced, the star doesn't actually appear in the show.

Paris Has Fallen's ending leaves the door open for another series - and suggests the story will be moving to Africa. The show has received an impressive 88% on Rotten Tomatoes too, and appears to have been a streaming hit across the world. The next...

‘Paris Has Fallen’ Review: Hulu’s Attempt At A Fresh Franchise Spin-Off Is Average At Best
Image
Many have tried, and many have failed; the tale of the “∫” knockoff remains as old as time, at the very least since 1988 when the action pioneer made its way into the public consciousness and initiated that exhaustive debate still ongoing as to whether it exists a Christmas film. This exhaustive, endless list surely warrants its own article, and in 2013 B-movie dynamo Gerard Butler took on the starring role in yet another, that being Antoine Fuqua‘s “Olympus Has Fallen,” one of two “White House under Siege” films of the year (alongside Roland Emmerich‘s “White House Down“), and debatably a far more fun effort; “Olympus Has Fallen” remains an enjoyable throwback to the glory days of ’80s and ’90s-era schlock, crammed with the perfect blend of cheese, genuinely thrilling setpieces and Butler’s well-timed one-liners without any one element overwhelming the others. Unsurprisingly, a franchise would soon emerge, with 2016’s...

Paris Has Fallen Took The Right Approach By Expanding The Franchise Without Gerald Butler
Image
Warning: Major spoilers for Paris Has Fallen below!Paris Has Fallen is a spinoff of the Has Fallen franchise, and the show made a smart choice by setting itself apart from the Gerard Butler saga. In 2013's White House Down vs Olympus Has Fallen box-office battle, the latter emerged victorious; of course, it also had the benefit of being released months ahead of its rival. Butler's Secret Service agent Mike Banning returned for the entire Has Fallen movie trilogy, but Paris Has Fallen takes the series in a very different direction by moving to television.

The spinoff still has all the action and one-liners, but it's able to spend more time developing the protagonists too. Paris Has Fallen feels more like 24 than the movie series that spawned it, with its cast constantly racing against the clock while getting into periodic gunfights and car chases. It even avoids the Has...

Hulu's TV Spinoff To Gerard Butler's $523.5M Franchise Sets Huge Rotten Tomatoes Record
Image
Paris Has Fallen, the Hulu television series spinoff of Gerald Butler's hit movies, sets a new record for the action franchise. Hulu landed the U.S. rights to Paris Has Fallen in October, with episodes debuting in December. The story centers on Vincent Taleb (played by Tewfik Jallab), a protection officer to a French Minister. The French official becomes the target of a terror group, causing Vincent to work with MI6 operative Zara (Ritu Arya) to keep the politician safe. But it's not long before a deeper conspiracy is uncovered, threatening the city of Paris itself.

Paris Has Fallen has the best Rotten Tomatoes score of any entry in the Has Fallen franchise, currently sitting at 86% based on 7 reviews. The score is likely to fluctuate as more reviews are added, though the score is relatively high with only one review leaning negative so far.

Paris Has Fallen Review: The Hulu Series Doesn't Recapture Movie Magic
Image
The following contains spoilers for Paris Has Fallen, now streaming on Hulu. It also contains mention of violence and sexual assault.

Hulu's Paris Has Fallen is the latest attempt to convert a hit movie franchise into a TV series. It's based on the Has Fallen action films, which starred Gerard Butler as one-man army Mike Banning, and deservedly raked in plenty of money at the box office. But this is an international co-production between the United States, France and the United Kingdom, so rather than just adapt those movies, the action is set in Paris with a new cast of characters. And unfortunately, neither those characters nor the story can hold a candle to the originals.

Paris Has Fallen Lacks a Compelling Main Character Vincent Taleb Doesn't Measure up to Mike Banning

The mere existence of London Has Fallen proved that the franchise could move overseas -- but what Paris Has Fallen...

Gerard Butler Action Spin-off 'Paris Has Fallen' Now Streaming on Hulu
Image
A spin-off to one of, if not the best Gerard Butler action franchise, the Fallen saga, is now available to stream in the United States. After originally debuting earlier this year in the U.K., all eight episodes of Paris Has Fallen Season 1 is now streaming on Hulu, and promises to deliver the same explosive action as Butler’s escapades as the intrepid Secret Service agent Mike Banning.

Starring Tewfik Jallab and Ritu Ary, Paris Has Fallen follows a protection officer teaming up with an MI6 operative to stop a terrorist group led by Jacob Pearce, played by Mission: Impossible villain Sean Harris. The cast also includes Ana Ularu, Camille Rutherford, Jérémie Covillault, Emmanuelle Bercor, and Karl Collins. Action fans already sang its praises when it premiered earlier this year, singling out the talented main cast members and exhilarating fight sequences. You can check out the official synopsis below:

Another Trailer for 'Paris Has Fallen' Action Series Featuring Ritu Arya
Image
"Move fast, kill the bad guys." Which is usually the best strategy. Hulu has debuted a new official trailer for the French action series called Paris Has Fallen, which is streaming in the US in December. It already launched a few months ago in France. As the trailer directly points out, this is a TV continuation of the "Has Fallen" franchise of movies - which includes Olympus Has Fallen (2013), London Has Fallen (2016), Angel Has Fallen (2019). Did we really need more of these stories as a TV series? A protection officer and an MI6 operative team up after a terrorist attack strikes Paris. They suspect a mole as they race to thwart a larger conspiracy from a madman threatening Paris. The plot follows protection officer Vincent Taleb who finds himself working with street-smart MI6 agnet Zara Taylor to save the day. Starring Tewfik Jallab, Ritu Arya, Sean Harris as the main bad guy,...

‘Paris Has Fallen’ Trailer: The ‘Olympus Has Fallen’ Franchise About Presidential Attacks Moves To France In December
Image
Who would have thought the rather corny “Olympus Has Fallen” actioner would become its own franchise? After three films in the series, “London Has Fallen” and “Angel Has Fallen,” the franchise moves to television with “Paris Has Fallen.”

Of course, there’s no Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, or Morgan Freeman in this one, but there’s at least Sean Harris (“Mission Impossible—Rogue Nation”).

Tewfik Jallab and Ritu Arya must stay one step ahead of the enemy to thwart a deadly conspiracy in Hulu’s Paris Has Fallen trailer
Image
After making three successful and action-packed films in the Has Fallen franchise, the political conspiracy thriller series is shaking things up by bringing the fight to the small screen. The latest installment of the Has Fallen franchise, Paris Has Fallen, is a TV series coming to Hulu, starring franchise newcomers Tewfik Jallab and Ritu Arya. Hulu debuted a Paris Has Fallen trailer on Tuesday, giving action fans something to look forward to before Thanksgiving madness finds the entertainment industry hitting the snooze button for a few days.

Here’s the official synopsis for Paris Has Fallen courtesy of Hulu:

“When a terrorist group led by the villainous Jacob Pearce (Sean Harris) attacks a high-profile embassy reception, with the French Minister of Defence as their target, protection officer Vincent (Tewfik Jallab) finds himself working with street-smart MI6 operative Zara (Ritu Arya) to save the day. November 29 Is a Frustrating Day for Fans of This Wildly Underrated Action Trilogy
Image
Action enthusiasts will have a hard time watching the Has Fallen trilogy on Hulu. Only the first entry in the Gerard Butler-led film series will hit the streaming platform at the end of November.

Beginning Nov. 29, Olympus Has Fallen will become available to stream on Hulu. Unfortunately, its sequels, 2016's London Has Fallen and 2019's Angel Has Fallen, will not be joining the 2013 movie on the streaming platform which will no doubt frustrate fans of the franchise who subscribe to Hulu. Olympus Has Fallen introduces audiences to Butler's Mike Banning, a former Army Ranger and current Secret Service agent who finds himself in the midst of a national crisis. When North Korean terrorists seize the White House, Banning must use his skills and insider knowledge to rescue the President and reclaim the nation's symbol of power.

Everything We Know About Gerard Butler's Den of Thieves 2
Image
Over the course of his nearly 30-year career in film, Gerard Butler has staked his claim as one of the kings of the mid-budget action movie. The Scottish actor has been a mainstay on movie screens since his American breakout in 300 back in 2007, and while most of his movies are met with indifference from critics, he remains a solid box office draw, anchoring films that frequently outperform their modest budgets. But besides bigger franchises like How to Train Your Dragon or the trilogy of Olympus Has Fallen, London Has Fallen, and Angel Has Fallen, few of them have warranted making a sequel, though that's about to change with the upcoming Den of Thieves 2: Pantera.

Pantera is a direct sequel to 2018's Den of Thieves, an action-heist film that premiered in the notoriously sleepy January movie season, earning middling reviews but making $80 million on a $30 million budget. The first...
