Sex & Nudity

  • Two naked men huddle for warmth. You only see their upper halves.
  • Full frontal male nudity of one of the old male characters. It is a long shot and it is not explicit.

Violence & Gore

  • An older man is tackled by surprise from behind and taken to the ground. The attacker holds him down and pushes hay into his face while yelling at him. The victim cries out.
  • A man holds a gun to the head of a sheep. We hear the gun go off but the camera is somewhere else when the shot fires.
  • A man is hit on the head with a shovel which makes him unconscious.
  • A drunken man weilds a shotgun and shoots it through the window of his neighbor. The buckshot does not hit the victim but he is distressed and hides.

Profanity

  • 7 uses of "f*ck", 4 of "sh*t", 2 of "d*mn", and 1 of "b*stard" (All in English subtitles as the film is spoken in Icelandic. The subtitled profanity are English equivalents.)

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Alcohol is consumed occasionally, but one character is a drunkard.

  • A man dies from exposure after getting lost in a snow storm.

  • A man drinks to excess and passes out in the freezing temperatures overnight. This happens twice and once results in a hospital visit.
