I found it unwatchable. The competition aspect seems so forced. Fake smack talk between HGTV Hardly-Knowns. None of these people seem to understand the Hotel/Motel industry. The colors they force together are appalling. Hotels need easily repeatable room designs, not one-off, off the wall chaotic designs. I've seen better guest rooms in Alaskan Hunting Cabins.
There is no way the hosts bringing in different "personalities" for each phase of the project can create the kind of rivalry they are trying to foster. The only ones who aren't winning here are the Hotel Owners and their future guests. Do better HGTV.

I watched the final episode that was the judging episode. Wow, those were the worst rooms I have ever seen. Every one was cluttered with cheap trinkets and just stuff. Some of the rooms were so small they would have a hard time moving around. Half of the knick knacks will be broken or stolen. The bathrooms were very, very small and to much foo-foo. They should have combined two rooms into one to make a more comfortable room. The colors and decorating was horrendous. I think I've covered everything that just says this was a monumental disaster and had to be really watch the all of the episodes.
Have these designers (especially the gal's team) never stayed in a hotel room?
Imagine you're the housekeeping staff - Cleaning under beds with dust ruffles? Curtains that puddle onto the floor?
And imagine you're the guests- No storage space for luggage?
No closet?
No desk?
And imagine you're a potential guest?
Would you make a reservation at a hotel with the dark wallpaper hotel room?
I'm in the hospitality industry so was excited to see this new show. What a disappointment! Too bad no consideration is given from the housekeeping and marketing standpoints.
Completely unrealistic for hotel rooms and will need to be corrected by the owners.

Inside and out, the renovations look like a mishmash of ideas from middle-class millennials, trying desperately to look rich.
None of the spaces look functional, welcoming, or inviting to Hotel Guests.
All of the work looks like it's been done by volunteers and weekend warriors, who buy cheap old HOUSES, then slap on whatever they can find to increase the resale value and quickly flip them for maximum profit.
But not only are they unlivable, they're not even usable as a Hotel.
The colors are ugly, the tiles are too busy, there's no storage space. There's no way for guests to take their luggage up the rough, uneven entranceway.
If Guests bother to go inside, the only thing they can do is block the entrance, and stare at a coffee bar which looks like it was added as an afterthought.
Overall, the lobby resembles a cattle chute designed to quickly herd cash cows to their small, ugly, uncomfortable rooms.
