Chennai, Feb 22: Producer Giridhar says he had to wait for six months to sign actress Avika Gor for his upcoming Telugu romantic drama "Lakshmi Raave Maa Initiki" as she was busy shooting for cinematic debut "Uyyala Jampala".
"We couldn't think of anyone else for the role. Therefore, we decided to wait for six months to sign Avika. When we approached her, she had already started shooting for 'Uyyala Jampala'. We narrated the story and she instantly liked it," Giridhar told Ians.
"Avika aksed us to move on if we couldn't wait, but we had decided to cast her at all cost. So we waited and it finally paid off," he added.

Chennai, Jan 4: Actor Akkineni Nagarjuna-produced Telugu romantic-drama "Uyyala Jampala", which released Dec 25, minted Rs. 6.25 crore in its first week in Andhra Pradesh, thus being declared a hit by trade pundits.
The film was reportedly made under a budget of Rs. 2 crore.
"It's a big hit for a film starring a host of debutants. In its first week, it netted approximately Rs. 6.25 crore and it continues to do well at the box office. It still has one more week of uninterrupted run before the Sankranti releases come out," trade analyst Trinath told Ians.

"Romance isn't the first thing you expect from the film, but in this delightful rural love tale, you will find a daringly different music compositions and dialogues that echo countryside coupled with enchanting live sound," Nagarjuna told Ians.
"It's a story about fun and emotions of a young couple set against the backdrop of a small village called Koonavaram in Andhra Pradesh," he added.
Starring debutant Raj Tarun and Avika Gor, the film is slated for release Dec 25.

"Several of my own films over the years have released during December and have turned out to be successful. Therefore, I'm planning to release my film 'Uyyala Jampala' on Christmas day. I hope this film too turns out to be successful," Nagarjuna told Ians.

Avika has gained immense popularity through "Chinnari Pellikuthuru", the Telugu dubbed version of "Balika Vadhu". It was her debut TV show in Hindi, but she is no longer associated with it.
"She isn't a new face because almost every Telugu household can recognise Avika through her serial now. I cast her keeping that in mind and I know for a fact that it will work in the favour of the film. With this film, she is only going to gain more popularity," Varma told.
