Here’s When ‘The View’ Returns After Easter
Image
“The View” is off this week, but not for too long. The ABC hosts are just getting an early hop on Easter.

Each season, the ladies have a few extended breaks built in, usually for the summer between seasons and for the winter holidays. While those are several weeks long, this brief spring hiatus will only extend through April 18. That said, you’ll still be able to spend the normal “View” hour with the hosts.

While there won’t be any new episodes, the typical 11 a.m. Et time slot will still feature reruns of “The View,” in case you missed any recently. You can find which episodes those will be below.

Monday, April 14: Kara Swisher; Donny Osmond (Las Vegas residency) — Originally aired 3/13/25

Tuesday, April 15: Mindy Kaling; performance from the women of Disney on Broadway in honor of Women’s History Month — Originally aired 3/6/25

Wednesday, April 16: Stephen A. Smith...

Juror No. 2 sets Max release date; has WB let Clint Eastwood down?
Image
$3.8 billion. That’s the amount of money Clint Eastwood’s films have grossed at the North American box office throughout his career. A superstar since the 1960s, Eastwood is rare in that almost all of his biggest blockbusters, including all the Dirty Harry movies, were all made for Warner Bros. It’s been his home studio since about the time he made The Outlaw Josey Wales. He’s made everything from Oscar-winners to action movies, to movies where he’s chilling with his pal Clyde the Orangutan for them, and they almost always ended up at least breaking even. Sure, he’s had a few flops, but even in his golden years, he still cranked out smash hits for them, with American Sniper making over half a billion dollars, while The Mule and Sully both made over $100 million domestically. Even when his movies didn’t do well, Eastwood keeps his...

Daniela Forever Review: Henry Goldings Sci-Fi Love Story Is Vertigo With a Glitch
Image
Sci-fi has always been a strong, emotional avenue to explore the human condition, allowing filmmakers to successfully weave surreal, futuristic concepts to mirror our most grounded feelings. Films like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Her, and even Reminiscence have shown that technology, memory, and love can intertwine to create stories that resonate on a deep, affecting level. Attempting to follow in their footsteps through the allure of lucid dreaming as a means to explore grief and emotional dependency is Nacho Vigalondos Daniela Forever. Having its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6, the visually striking and emotionally charged film steadily excels on the shoulders of Henry Goldings raw, gripping performance but leaves much of its ambitious, complex concept underdeveloped.

Image
Rebecca Ferguson has become one of Hollywood's most coveted stars, with several exciting projects in varying development stages. The Swedish actress rose to prominence in the 2010s and is best known for her roles in blockbuster franchises like Dune and Mission: Impossible. Rebecca Ferguson's best movies & shows range from science fiction to action to musicals to more, and she'll continue to provide such variety over the next few years with a slew of interesting films, including some major franchise projects.

In the past two years, Ferguson saw her tenure in the Mission: Impossible franchise end in Dead Reckoning, though with that series, it's not entirely impossible that Ilsa Faust could return for more. She began her tenure as the lead on the Apple TV+ sci-fi series Silo, which was met with acclaim from fans and critics. In 2024, she received near unanimous acclaim for her role as Lady Jessica in the sci-fi masterwork Dune: Part Two,...

Jeff Goldblum and Janet McTeer in Kaos (2024)
Full trailer lands for ‘Kaos’
Jeff Goldblum and Janet McTeer in Kaos (2024)
Netflix has launched the full official trailer for the upcoming series ‘Kaos’ in which Jeff Goldblum plays the role of the all-powerful god, Zeus.

Zeus: King of the Gods, ruler of the world. He’s cruel, stylish and all-powerful.

That is until he’s not. From BAFTA-winning screenwriter and showrunner Charlie Covell (The End Of The F***ing World), Kaos is a bold, darkly comic, contemporary take on Greek mythology: exploring love, power, and life in the underworld.

Having long enjoyed his status as king of the gods, Zeus’s reign has never been truly threatened. That is until he wakes up one morning and discovers a wrinkle on his forehead. Believing it to be the harbinger of an ancient prophecy which foretells his destruction, neurosis sets in: Zeus becomes convinced his fall is coming. As his paranoia takes hold, the god of gods – seeing signs everywhere – starts to dangerously self-destruct.

Reminiscence Was a Box Office Bomb but Hugh Jackman Fans Make It a Netflix Hit
Image
Hugh Jackman has had quite a few box office successes over the course of his career. These range from one-offs like Real Steel and Les Misrables to his extensive tenure playing Marvel's Wolverine in the X-Men franchise, including the genuine financial juggernaut (no mutant pun intended) that is Deadpool & Wolverine. There was also 2017's musical The Greatest Showman, which netted a massive $435 million on a budget of just $84 million.

Unfortunately, the film that reteamed Jackman with his Greatest Showman co-star, Rebecca Ferguson, failed to make nearly as substantial an impact. That movie would be Westworld co-creator Lisa Joy's 2021's neo-noir sci-fi mystery thriller Reminiscence, which crashed and burned on the big screen, earning $16.4 million against a price tag of at least $54 million. It's also one of the few movies to have just about the exact same reaction from critics and audiences alike, getting 36% from critics and 37% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

A 2021 Hugh Jackman & Rebecca Ferguson Sci-Fi Flop Is Climbing Netflix's Top Charts
Image
As "Deadpool & Wolverine" continues to obliterate the box office, there's been plenty of time to reminisce about Hugh Jackman's esteemed career. Even "Deadpool & Wolverine" itself included a tribute to one of Jackman's best movies by including a subtle nod to his Oscar-nominated performance as Jean Valjean in 2012's "Les Misérables." The 55-year-old has certainly had a historic Hollywood run, not only delivering critically acclaimed performances, but becoming a true comic book movie legend by defining the role of Logan/Wolverine in his many appearances as the character.

But that doesn't mean everything Jackman has done has been a success. Take 2021's "Reminiscence," for example. This sci-fi thriller was directed by Lisa Joy, who, alongside her husband Jonathan Nolan, co-created "Westworld" and more recently executive produced the massive Prime Video hit "Fallout." Unfortunately, "Reminiscence," which starred Jackman as a veteran and private investigator who offers clients the ability to relive their memories,...

Hugh Jackmans 37% Rotten Tomatoes Mystery With Rebecca Ferguson Has a New Streaming Home
Image
While Hugh Jackman has a movie out in theaters that's absolutely dominating the box office, another one of his recent films is rocketing up the Netflix streaming charts. Reminiscence, the psychological thriller which Jackman stars in alongside Rebecca Ferguson, has officially begun streaming on Netflix. The film has yet to crack the top 10 movie chart, likely due to it releasing on the platform just one day prior, falling short of the least popular entries in the top 10, including Minions, The Lorax, and White Chicks, which has also found extraordinary success on Netflix. In addition to Jackman and Ferguson, Reminiscence also stars Cliff Curtis, Daniel Wu, and Brett Cullen. The film currently sits at nearly identical scores of 37% and 38% from critics and audiences respectively on Rotten Tomatoes.

Hugh Jackmans 2021 Sci-Fi Thriller Is Now Streaming On Netflix & It Reunites Stars From This $461M Movie
Image
Hugh Jackman's sci-fi movie on Netflix, Reminiscence, is worth checking out for fans of the actor's versatile career. Jackman's performance as Nick Bannister is a highlight of the mind-bending neo-noir film that explores memory and love. Despite lukewarm reviews upon release, Reminiscence offers an original concept and entertains.

While Hugh Jackman's return to his superhero persona in Deadpool & Wolverine may currently be the main talking point when it comes to the Australian actor's career, the arrival of his 2021 sci-fi movie on Netflix is another great throwback reference to his back catalog. Netflix's new addition to its library may not be one of the best Hugh Jackman movies, but it's still an enjoyable watch.

Hugh Jackman's net worth has been bolstered by his impressive array of movie roles through the years, with the actor not confining himself to a single genre and refusing to be typecast as a specific type of character.

Rebecca Ferguson's Next Movie Continues Her Best Career Trend
Image
Rebecca Ferguson continues to shine in sci-fi with upcoming film "Mercy" as she solidifies her status as a compelling science fiction star. With "Mercy" set for release in 2025, Ferguson's diverse roles in sci-fi pave the way for another hit that may match her recent success. Although "Mercy" may not surpass the success of Dune, it promises to continue Ferguson's exciting sci-fi streak with high critical and box office performance.

Rebecca Ferguson's recent movies and shows have created an incredible trend, and from the looks of it, her upcoming film is going to continue this exciting streak. Born in Stockholm, Rebecca Ferguson started her acting career with a soap opera, Nya tider, in the early aughts. Although it took her a while to find her feet as an actress and land bigger movie roles, she gained wide recognition for portraying Elizabeth Woodville in BBC's The White Queen. In a few years,...

Rebecca Ferguson's New Sci-Fi Movie Can Redeem Her $16.4 Million Flop 3 Years Later
Image
Ferguson returns to sci-fi with Mercy to redeem a flop from her past, following success in Dune and Apple TV's Silo. Mercy pairs Ferguson and Pratt in lead roles for a near future story of crime and redemption, hinting at a substantial role for Ferguson. Mercy looks to outperform the disappointing box office performance of Reminiscence, aiming for success with Ferguson and Pratt's star power.

Rebecca Ferguson is returning to sci-fi movies with Mercy, and it becomes an opportunity to redeem a major flop from her filmography. After making a splash in the Mission: Impossible movies as an action star, Ferguson has become a budding star of the sci-fi genre. Her role in the Dune franchise brought her a major box office hit, while headlining Silo season 1 on Apple TV+ brought her dominance to the small screen. The success of these projects makes it unsurprising that Rebecca Ferguson has lined up another sci-fi movie,...

Hugh Jackman has had an illustrious career in Hollywood. From playing the adamantium-clawed superhero Wolverine to the great American showman P.T. Barnum, the star has repeatedly proven his acting mettle. Moreover, The Greatest Showman actor’s co-stars often sing his praises.

How to Train Your Dragon: What to Expect From the Live-Action Adaptation
Image
With the announcement of a live-action adaptation of the highly successful animated feature film How to Train Your Dragon, many are quick to question the true intentions of the creators at Dreamworks and Universal. Though some scoff at the mere mention of a new reboot, there should be reasonable anticipation for the potential narratives and creative possibilities of an expanded Dragon universe.

The odds are surely stacked against Universal. Audiences and critics seem to be weary of the exhaustive effort Disney has put into their live-action adaptations. Starting with 2010’s Alice in Wonderland, Disney has repeatedly brought their animated favorites to real life with upcoming releases including Snow White, Moana, and Lilo & Stitch.

Universal has also struggled to launch an expanded cinematic universe. Their unsuccessful Dark Universe, initiated by Tom Cruise’s Mummy adaptation, failed enough to shut down the whole operation. Fast & Furious is currently delayed due to...

Box Office Predictions: Who wins in the battle of Paw vs Saw?
Image
With Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem drifting out of the top ten this week after earning a respectable $116.5 million at the domestic box office, it is time for a new family film to hit the market and that film is Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie. I will be honest, I don’t know much about Paw Patrol, is it a series for toddlers or do the stories skew a bit older? What I do know is that in August 2021 Paw Patrol: The Movie was released to a $13.1 million opening on its way to a $40.1 million domestic finish ($144.3 million worldwide). That number shows me that there is an audience for this franchise, and that was just a movie, it wasn’t mighty! That movie faced off against the second week of the hit Ryan Reynolds film Free Guy which won the weekend while the other new releases of the week: The Protege,...

Westworld Fans Should Watch Reminiscence
Image
Westworld was one of HBO's most inventive and emotionally captivating series. Although audiences might have been confused by its complex structure, storytelling across multiple time periods and use of artificial intelligence, it still found a core fan base that was excited to learn how the war between man and machine would conclude. But Westworld was canceled for financial reasons, and audiences were left wondering how it might have all ended.

Luckily for fans of Westworld, there is a spiritual sequel of sorts that can help them find some form of closure. Reminiscence has been criminally overlooked since its release in 2021 but deserves a second chance. Although it's certainly not going to provide answers as to where the show's famous characters went next, it does, at the very least, carry many of the same thematic points of discussion while taking place in a not-too-dissimilar dystopian world. There are clear parallels to make between Westworld and Reminiscence,...

Lee Cronin Shares ‘Evil Dead Rise’ Concept Art Behind Title Card and Set Pieces
Image
Writer/Director Lee Cronin’s Evil Dead Rise presented several buzzworthy Evil Dead moments and set pieces, including the title card that arrives just as a Deadite rises from the lake. All of it, of course, by meticulous design as evidenced by the film’s stunning concept art.

Cronin took to Twitter today to share some of the concept art for the new entry in the Evil Dead franchise.

The filmmaker said, “Nothing on screen in #EvilDeadRise happened by accident. It took meticulous planning with an incredible group of talented people. And concept art was the entry point into our world. Here’s a little taste.”

Amazon Prime Video New Releases: May 2023
Image
With its list of new releases for May 2023, Amazon Prime Video is increasing its global reach.

The streamer’s biggest original offering this month is a German series. Hohlbeins’ – The Gryphon, based on the works of Wolfgang Holhlbein, will present a sprawling fantasy tale about three teens discovering a fantastical world called The Black Tower where “the Gryphon, a world-devouring monster, mercilessly subjugates all living creatures.”

The only other original title of note in May is Freevee comedy Primo on the 19th. Written by author and journalist Shea Serrano and produced by Michael Schur (The Good Place), this coming-of-age series will follow a teenager balancing “college aspirations, societal expectations, and a hectic home life on the south side of San Antonio.”

And that’s pretty much it for Amazon Originals this month! Thankfully, there is a huge influx of library content to keep Prime Video subscribers entertained. May 4 sees the...

HBO Max New Releases: April 2023
Image
With its list of new releases for April 2023, HBO Max is premiering the final episodes of two major shows.

First up is the continuation of Titans season 4 on April 13. Returning after a four month hiatus, these next six episodes will be the last go around for HBO Max’s gritty live-action DC series. Arriving three days later on HBO proper is the fourth and final season of Barry. Bill Hader and the rest of the Barry team wrote themselves into a fascinating corner with the conclusion of season 3. And judging by the first teasers for season 4, this final batch of episodes will indeed catch up with our favorite actor/hitman in prison.

Other TV shows of note this month include the Pete Davidson-starring animated series Fired on Mars on April 20 (light ’em up) the the Elizabeth Olsen-starring true crime story Love & Death on April 27.

Evil Dead Rise: Bruce Campbell goes all Ash on heckler who disrupted the Q&a after the screening
Image
There’s just no telling when Ash will run into a deadite. At a screening of the upcoming horror film Evil Dead Rise at the SXSW film festival, during a Q&a session with the cast and crew, an audience member became possessed, not by the Book of the Dead but by the Book of Anger, as he shouted out to the filmmakers on stage, “This movie f**king sucks!” Naturally, the audience felt how disrespectful this was and proceeded to boo the heckler as he made his way out.

According to Deadline, the heckler threw his popcorn in a fit of rage and stormed out after he had been approached by staff members following his little tantrum. The cast and crew laughed it off in disbelief, but the enraged audience member would flip them off before exiting and attempted to yell more obscenities as he was drowned out by the audience’s jeers.
