Short and strange with video art and strong cuts
Tamas-Banki-DrLinkedin15 December 2015
I'm not a reviewer, but this short movie was one, I wanted to hit the keyboard for. Some 15 years ago I had a chance to work with Bela Tarr, and I have learned the need of strength in the cuts. Bela loved long shuts, while Michael likes a little longer then very short, and this gave his short film the strength.

The Summary tells my feelings: "Short and strange with video art and strong cuts"

So what I've really meant:

Short: You'll fell the need to watch it longer

Strange: Loved the depression and the strange questions (eg.: happy at the funeral)

Video art: The fades, the strings, the shocks...

Strong cuts: Both the director and the editor knew exactly where and when to cut. Nice and strong cuts, with great rhythm.

about fundamental themes. admirable precise cuts. provocative story. bitter poetry of image and dialogue and script. a film about sense. picture of a generation. fascinating, strange, seductive, interrogation to viewer about fears and fragile answers and selfishness and solitude and need of the other and sense of the death. a film who, after a time, must see again. for the state who has its as source. for a bizarre beauty. for the questions, dialogues and answers. and for the status of mirror.
