A beautiful dram but so sad...

The drama is good, but there is a lot of sadness and sorrow in the lasts episodes, maybe as a western mindset we always spect that everything is like a happy ending....and I'm not saying that this series doesn't have a good one but after finished the 20 episodes my heart feels so heavy...

I love in general this kinds of series that have love, history and some martials arts/ figths with swords/ katana but seems like this particularly film focus the entire drama in the "bad luck" of some characters of the serie.

Anyway was a very good one, but maybe is not recommended for some ppl that are very nostalgic, for sure you are going to cry a lot.

Somewhat interesting but also somewhat annoying

Acting, costumes etc are fine, but plot is annoying. Essentially a historical love triangle where one of the triangle is a crown prince, one a noble girl he loves, and one the prince's half-brother. Involves political intrigue which separates the 3 main characters who then come together again later in various ways, either recognising or not recognising each other. Unfortunately from a Western point of view the main line of the plot is simply not believable, and is just annoying - the noble girl is essentially a saint who despite injustice and trouble that happens to her still loves a particular character, and rejects the love of the other character who she could run off with and have a lovely simple life with. The girl has no agency (control over her life) - she is a helpless character that bad stuff just happens to, and it appears accidental if anything good happens to her. Made me want to scream in frustration.
