A Mother's Work (#6.13)
ComedyFan201016 October 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Once again the final season episode in this amazing show does not fail to impress me. This was not the season I liked a lot (although it was still high quality compared to most of what we see), but the ending was amazing. I am excited to see the final season after it.

What happened with Tara was so not what I expected. I first thought Jax will kill her, so I was surprised already when he decided to turn himself in for her. And then Gemma killing her changed everything. I am glad though it went this way. I didn't like Jax fir a while now. Him not being Tara's killer makes me go on his side again. Gemma is an amazing character. I love what she contributes to the show, but at the same time I hate her. She is like that evil mother in law that was always trying to control the life of Jax family, and of course killed his life and made him unhappy.

Juice helping her out was of course because Jax found out what he was talking when high on oxy. Now will Jax find out what really happened and what will his actions be after that? Maybe what I want will come and Gemma will pay for everything.

Anyways, in this episode we lost two characters that will be missed: Tara and Eli. I both liked and disliked them depending on the story, they were interesting and contributed a lot to the show. But those losses seem to be leading to an amazing final season.

Hold Onto Your Hats
therunner422 January 2014
Warning: Spoilers
The much anticipated season finale of season six deals out one of the most shocking endings in the history of the much loved television drama. The episode focuses on key issues; the logistics of finally handing over the guns to another gang, Nero falling out of love with both the Sons and Gemma and finally the much discussed problem of Tara. All three issues implode together in a frightening ending which leaves two key characters dead. About three quarters the way in the club resolves most problems and Jackson agrees to turn himself in for the school shooting so Tara can have the freedom she needs to raise her two sons in peace. They really should have called Gemma. Gemma mistakenly believes that Jackson is going to prison because of Tara and kills her before anyone can set her straight. Juice then kills Eli so there are no witnesses to Gemma's crime (there is no certainty for any actor on Sons of Anarchy). The murder is so brutal and so unexpected; it takes a moment to sink in. This episode starts slowly but builds to lightening pace. It is true SAMCRO form; violent, dramatic, funny and heart breaking. …..Only ten months to go until we find out what happens next. I wouldn't advise missing it.

Stellar acting
iamcanadiantoo29 July 2020
This was one of the best episodes in terms of acting technique by Charlie Hunnam. The sheer emotion in the end was perfectly done. So raw. Tears were in my eyes based upon Hunnam's emotions.

Warning: Spoilers
I was just shattered after the season finale. It was so sad. Although it's a long time coming. Charlie hunnam in the last scene just nailed it. It was so real, no doubt he actually felt what the character of Jax teller was feeling. I can imagine what's gonna come in season 7. Broken heart will be broken again, brace yourselves.

Much better on a re-watch

Warning: Spoilers
When I first watched the show I found season 6 a bit slow and boring and not particularly interesting. However, having watched it a second time, I can safely say that season 6 has become my second favorite season after season 4. The complex storylines and the emotional character drama make this season a compelling view. The deaths of Clay and Tara are executed perfectly, maybe Tara's death is a bit over the top in brutality. The acting is still top notch, Maggie Siff delivers her best performance on this show, gonna miss Ron Perlman though, his charisma added a lot this show.

Warning: Spoilers
You tell me this is not the best show ? this episode shows you why it's the best show.

The fact that they killed off Tara is breathtaking:(. I felt sad but it made more excited for the next season. What i think the next season will be about is that that Jax will try to prove his innocence of killing Tara and the officer. Though i think more stories should be added. Gemma? i don't know what is going to happen to her. will the club know about what she did. Let's wait and see. Can't wait for season 7.

Good job Kurt Sutter.

The final episode explains Jax and his predicament.
mm-3926 December 2013
Warning: Spoilers
The seasonal finale is a solid episode which explains Jax and his predicament. Jax is like the Michael Corleone character of the God father movies. A good man who wants the best for his family, and was pushed into the criminal family business. One sees Jax's kinder side throughout the season. Season six explains Jax wanted out, and a clean or cleaner biker club. Peter Wheller's character explains the problem perfectly that everyone wants a piece of the crown when Jax lets go of everything. New problems where created and Jax realizes the position of power slowly has turned Jax into Clay. Jax like Michael Corleone had guilt, and a conscious, which made Jax try and sacrifice himself for the good of the club and his family. The road to hell is paved with good intentions and Jax has created a unintentional hell. A modern tragic story. Nine out of ten.

Day is Gone
yazod-210 August 2020
Take it back I would take it back For just another minute Just another chance with you

Give it up I would give everything up Every last breath Every first taste, for you. Just to make it alright. Just to make it alright.

But its too late, to go back. I can see the darkness, through the cracks. Daylight fading, I curse the breaking. The day is gone. The day is gone.

Run away I ll just run away like a child from all them to you And now I see my most constant mistake is i don't know what I love till its gone

But its too late To go back And I can see the darkness Through the cracks Daylight fading I curse the breaking. The day is gone. The day is gone

Its too late to go back, I let the darkness seep through the cracks. Love is bleeding, I curse my breathing. The day is gone The day is gone

Loyalty and Loss
Slash07120 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
We have all seen a lot of death so far, good and bad came and gone. Opie's death was really sad (and others too), but this episode carries a lot of pain and sadness. It makes you feel it in your bones. Probably one of the saddest episodes in history.

Some might hate Tara for what she was trying to do but she was just a mother trying to protect his kids and had nothing but love for them.

This episode was good despite all the tragedies walked through. Because an image of Sons of Anarchy was engraved in your mind and you will never forget the reaper and the cut which shows how well the TV show was made. Also, it set up a strong background for the next season, making the viewer eager to continue through the anger and frustration.

Katey Sagal created one of the most hated characters and you watch season 7 desperately with anger so that she meet Mr Mayhem like Clay.

We all miss the times when Tara and Jax were together and just simply loved each other.

The Most Disturbing Episode Ever on SOA
Morpheus91113 December 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Without giving away too much of the episode story-line, I was actually mentally damaged by this episode. Just when everything seems to possibly work itself into some sort of a slow forgiving resolve, for all the horrible events that occurred this season. Instead it spirals into a horrible vortex of insanely disturbing events. A super crash of terrible karmic events likened to a supernova death of a star. The star being the whole of SAMCRO imploding and exploding at the same time.

I admired and like how in reality this actually could happen when a viscous cycle of bad events try to resolve itself only to go to the worst spot it almost possible can. It's Murphy's Law setting itself in motion. as the worst possible things go wrong and finally dreadfully does as the episode horribly unravels.

On the other hand I was repulsed and literally annihilated with severe emotional distraught -- I watched the screen thinking of the 1000 yard stare. The thousand-yard stare or two-thousand-yard stare describing the limp, unfocused gaze of a battle-weary soldier. Or in this case a member of the MC. This doesn't really make me look forward to season 7. But I am sure I will watch regardless. Nothing will ever be the same after this episode. I thought when they executed Clay, the worst was over. How wrong could I have possibly been.

Katy Segal & Kurt Sutter's Amazing Technicolor Ego Trip
galvanekps12 December 2013
Sure the violence has been ratcheted up this season and that's kept it bearable amongst the seemingly endless, often pointless, twists and turns but the 500 pound gorilla in the series that makes it less and less enjoyable with each passing season if not episode is front and center again.

Katey Sagal's character, Gemma, has become one of the most unlikeable, contemptuous and utterly contrived ever to appear (let alone remain) in any TV series. One underlying themes of the series from the outset is that betrayal of the club and/or of Jax ultimately leads to death but oh no not for this character ... no matter how flagrant or openly she schemes and deceives, no matter how many lies she's caught in, no matter much damage her treachery does nobody seems to notice or care. Her ability to inexplicably and effortlessly evade the consequences everyone else must eventually face is mind boggling. Since the middle of season 5 I find myself tuning in for no other reason than the hope I'll get to see this singularly repugnant person "get hers" in the most horrifically violent and painful way imaginable as one would reasonably expect anyone like her in real life would have long ago ... but alas it never happens.

Indeed, one redeeming aspect of the season 6 finale is that it confirms my long held and growing belief that the last few seasons and the one rumored to remain have become little more than a vehicle for Kurt Sutter to preen his wife's ego and keep the illusion of her otherwise non-existent career alive ... indeed her next project is of course one of her husband's.

To say this episode has squelched any enthusiasm for a final season 7 would be a grand understatement.

Gemma should have died.
gokbulutnurettin7 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Gemma should have died. This season finale was ridiculous. I can't believe how it scored 9.5. I don't plan to watch season 7. I feel very uncomfortable seeing Gemma. I don't understand how you did such a demonic character. I'm going to have my Disney membership canceled just because of this episode. The same goes for Juigy. He was a character I loved, now he became a slave to the Gemma demon. What did you do to the series. Has it happened now. At least if someone else had killed Tara. It was already clear from the beginning that this episode would be bad. There were a lot of camera angle errors.

Season 6 Finale - Really ?
bethnbill1211 December 2013
Warning: Spoilers
The only thing I can think of to say about the season finale of SOA is…disappointing. It appeared as a showcase by Mr. Sutter of his wife's, Katy Segal, dramatic acting talents, and a far reach to the roots of the original SOA story line of an outlaw MC. The whole " my boys, my boys, my boys " mantra has been way overused, especially in light of the fact that Jax was already in the process of laying out a plan for the future. Oh yeah! Gemma didn't know that, so she reacted by motherly instinct. Way overplayed! As for Juice ( Theo Rossi ) coming in on the murder scene and ultimately killing Eli ( Rockmond Dunbar ), then taking Gemma away, again, his continuous overcompensation will ultimately end in his demise. And it would not be unpredictable to find that he is related in some way to the DA ( CCH Pounder ) . Seaon 7 ( I mistakingly thought Season 6 was the last ) will have Jax arrested for the murder of Eli and a long drawn out investigation that may culminate in the realization that his gun did not shoot Eli and there was a third party at the scene. Enter homeless girl that is a "dumpster diver" ? Of course Wayne ( Dayton Callie ) , who is probably the only one at this point who knows the whole story, is now in a happy place with Clay and Nero out of the picture and ( so he wants to believe ) Gemma all to himself. Jax removal of his colors/cut at the door when he came into his home may be the symbolic frame work for his disassociation with the MC and a change into the life style that John Teller wanted before he was eliminated by Clay Morrow and Gemma Teller. Syndication will likely later have SOA playing in the afternoons, right after Ellen. This saddened me after faithfully following from Episode 1. :(

How could someone be so stupid and So evil to have done such a thing like Gemma did , she is a total bitch i hate her so much. Tara was a powerful character and deserved so much better, I wish I could erase this episode from my memory. It was so disappointing and shocking. How could Gemma do this , she should have investigated the matter ,what a bitch i hate her so goddamn much.she killed her so brutally Tara was And always will be my favourite character along with Jax. Im sorry but this is the end for me i can't watch any further.
