Rail Pennies

Even though I am the writer and director I feel it is important to evaluate my own work. This film turned out better than I expected; two steps up from a student film I feel. It has its many flaws, such as bad re-dubbing and camera movement mistakes, but the story itself is quite good. If you ignore the bad acting (at times) and bad special effects (the storm clouds and shaky computer generated camera movements)and focus on the meaning of the story, it is an enjoyable/deep film. It gives the viewer a lot to think about after the film is over which I think is very important. Also the cinematography and camera work is done quite nicely and really gives the film a higher score. Some of the shots such as the impossible crane shot without a crane, dolly zoom, and the final fake jib shot turned out exceptionally well for a beginning filmmaker. The custom musical score intertwined with classical music really helps the film and rounds it out to being a solid 7 score.
