Unsuccessful attempt at combining comedy with relationship advice

"She Has a Boyfriend" is a 13-minute live action short film from 2013 and one of the more recent efforts by Philip Wang, a truly prolific filmmaker in the last decade. But judging from this one here, he seems to be more about quantity than quality. I think there was a funny moment here and there in this brief film, but overall I was not convinced. The film probably already peaked in the very first minute with the introduction to the protagonist and his main problem. Oh yeah, on a side-note this is an American movie in the English language, but as almost all the actor are Asian Americans they provided Chinese (I think) subtitles on the Youtube page. This may also be one reason why this film was seen by millions and millions of people in the last under five years, which makes it one of Wang's most successful. But like I said, I am not sold yet and the mere fact that it's probably better than Wang's other pretty known work "Agents of Secret Stuff" does not make it a quality watch. Potential is there at times, but overall it is a thumbs down.
