Dead Bowl

Artie O'Farrell causes a massive stir at a grudge bowls match, a son of the town, but absent for forty years, he clashes with several people and after a dust up with local player Ted Haddon, he ends up dead, shot on the green. Could his death be linked to the story of Bushranger Bill, a figure from local folklore. Sergeant Strong being is sidelined as she was present at the match.

I enjoyed it, a good tale of murder, mystery and folklore, I enjoyed the feel and gone of this episode a lot more than recent ones. There was a definite cleverness to this one, plenty of red herrings with balloons and lawnmowers.

It may be a little silly in parts, and they are dragging out Mackenzie's longing for her former love a bit too much now.

Mackenzie's summing up was a really good moment, very clever, I really liked her chilled out delivery. The killer's identity came as a big surprise.

Pretty good.
