The episode Salvage is about a great deal more than just regrouping after the bombing. In this funny and dramatic hour, Jackson desperately tries to put his gang back together. He receives some good signs; a deal is broken with the IRA, Bobby returns to the fold with three new members and another chapter supports his move to get out of guns. However, Jackson's desire to get the club back on track comes at a disastrous personal cost. His beloved Tara (and he is so sweet to her) is moving further and further away from him as she continues in her quest to get their children away from the motorcycle club. After the recent bombing from the IRA you can't really blame her. There is a very cute battle with some corrupt cops whilst Nero remains in jail. In true Sons form this episode is believable, interesting and fun to watch. There is one corny moment but corny moments happen in TV and in real life so it's well worth this episode watching regardless.

I think I dislike Nero just because I like Clay. So I manage to take all the betrayal that happened to him a bit personal. So yes, it upsets me that it looks that Nero will get out of the murder charge. It was also making me extremely mad when Gemma went to talk to Clay about it, how dare she! Her betrayal is why he was arrested. Oh I want to see Clay coming out and blow all the heads off. They can end the show this way, would be a perfect finale for me.
Was great to see Venus again. A nice scene of her and Gemma. Her story even makes me dislike Nero less. Walton Goggins is great in this role, we need more of Venus.
Also the story of Tara should get to a highlight soon I assume, she is really being put under pressure here.

An episode of SoA that doesn't completely suck

As I binge through SoA this episode was a breath of fresh air. It's relatively free of the ponderous melodrama inflicting so much of the series and feels like it gives the characters a day off to actually ride their bikes and have some fun. They get to mix it up with some crooked cops and Jax has a double dose of good news at the biker meetup as he is supported by other chapters on his moves to separate from the IRA and Bobby comes back to the fold with new recruits. Things feel relatively 'normal' for once. Not that this show ever really established what 'normal' was but I feel that the series could have used a lot more 'lite' episodes like this one scattered throughout rather than trying to turn the Doom and Gloom dial to 11 on every episode... because when there is no baseline of what a good day is like it's hard to really appreciate the depths of pain when the bad days come along.
Anyway, good episode... comparatively.

Bad episode

Sons is always between the great and the ridiculous. This episode has a great Gemma Venus scene and CCH Pounder taking her gloves off.
On the very bad side there is an absolutely idiotic run in with some cops which is strsight out of The Dukes of Hazzard and a Jax speech so idiotic that you want to have Clay as the head of Samcro asap. Oh and more Tara being absolutely idiotic.
