Plodding, corny, and with too much histrionics
shakercoola18 October 2018
An American horror; A story about a young man who is kidnapped and trapped by a winter storm and hunted by a maniac in the woods. Tonally, it is fairly consistent and the setting is appealing but tension is extinguished by the pacing and poor casting. The lead character's brattishness nullifies some of the drama and an unseen villain is voiced without much menace.

Rather boring, uneventful movie
dbranisteanu8 May 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Although beautiful scenery, the movie is sluggish, the main character is unbelievably clumsy and hysterical, the "mean guy" is not frightening in any manner, it really comes from nowhere and has nothing to do with the plot or with the main character's family, although what happens is supposed to be a kind of "lesson" for a spoiled loser, it is difficult to understand how the two victims got in that remote place, the fights are not realistic. The movie is too long for nothing to happen. Do not waste your time.

Awful

This movie is completely flat and downright insipid. The dialogue is banal and the acting is amateurish at best. Most of the film involves a disembodied voice harassing a man and a woman in and around a remote cabin in the woods. The voice is not particularly threatening or scary and the lead actor spends a lot of time talking to himself. Eventually, a woman pops into the mix out of the blue and the lead man and her spend time doing nonsensical things instead of extricating themselves from the situation. The point of this film is not clear; it's not entertaining, it's not scary, it's not compelling in any way. Other than that, it's terrible.

God awful! What gave it a two star out of ten was the cabin was very nice and I love snow. Whoever directed this move has never. Fired a rifle. Been in a fight. Spent a night in the woods. Started a fire . Had a major injury. Hunted anything. Or made a decent film. Please do not wast your time watching this. I've wasted 2 hours of my life so you don't have to.

Very slow and falls into the B movie zone.

It has a 5.4 rating and for me does not deserve that rating, it does not hold my interest. The acting is ok, but the story, like many movies, even T.V. - shows, have no movement that makes you want to stay with them in the story line drawing you in, reminds me of the Ozark T.V. series, the actors are better, but there is a lack of substance to keep you motivated to stay with it.

Pretty scenery.

The scenery is gorgeous. The acting isn't horrible. But music is even ok. But the movie itself is pointless. No intent. No redemption.

Very slow but pretty good
svenjergensen27 March 2017
I almost skipped this one but since all the critics reviews were fairly positive I decided to give it a shot. Firstly, this movie is very slow. If you don't like slow paced movies, you won't like this film. It's also pretty quiet. It doesn't rely on a ton of music or crazy sound effects which just adds to the feeling of loneliness. The lead actor is pretty good. At first I didn't think the acting was all the great, but as the movie goes on and the character begins to change, so does the acting which makes me think it was a creative decision. The lead character is a brat but by the end of the film I was genuinely rooting for him. The photography is beautiful, and the location really adds a lot of character to the story. The color is also something that really stood out, especially how that bright yellow jacket pops against the snow. My one and only real gripe is the accent of the bad guy. I found it a bit over the top and sometimes couldn't understand exactly what he was saying. I think they could have just gone with a regular menacing voice instead of adding an accent to it. Nonetheless the dialog is pretty clever and the story, while not super original, is actually a lot of fun. It's interesting that they decided to take the "kidnapped by a killer" horror trope and turn it into a drama. And it actually works pretty well. Despite it being a slow film I was always kind of wondering what was going to happen next. If you're patient this movie is worth your time.

Terrible

Warning: Spoilers
This is so bad it's laughable. By the end I was rooting for "Wolf" because the one person that was actually likable died.

This is THE WORST film I've ever watch
jpgranera8 January 2019
I'm not kidding nor am I exaggerating. I can say that this is the worst movie I have seen. I saw it with my family and they are not very critical, and they agree with me. I thought that it had to be a joke. The acting is incredibly fake, the main actor has a terrible voice and bad use of expressions. The writing was really boring, the pacing slow and in general very unrealistic. The only thing I like is the cinematography, some beautiful shots, nice stage, but that's all.

Please don't watch it.! At least you want to see it for yourself and have a good laugh.
