She’s the type who’d have no problem putting several bullets into Sonny Corleone, that is if they lived in the same universe.

Since 1972 over forty people have gone missing in a remote stretch of Canada known as The Barren Lands. Their disappearance, according to locals, is linked to The Barren Cabin which disappeared in 1963, occasionally reappearing only to vanish again.

That’s what the title card at the beginning of The North Witch, the latest film from director Bruce Wemple and writer Anna Shields. Shields also plays Madison, whose roommates have just given her the boot and needs a place to stay, she calls her friend Gemma and wrangles an invitation to the expedition she’s going on.

So, along with Talia, Alice and Laura she finds herself hiking across the Canadian wilderness looking for, you guessed it, The Barren Cabin. It doesn’t take long for them to see signs that something isn’t right.

A month after unveiling their first tour in a decade, Alison Krauss & Union Station are back with the announcement of their first new album in 14 years: Arcadia, due on March 28th.

Seeing Krauss reunite with band members Jerry Douglas, Ron Block, and Barry Bales — along with new addition Russell Moore — Arcadia will span 10 new songs, including the lead single, “Looks Like the End of the Road,” which arrived today.

The album will also mark yet another collaboration with Krauss and Rounder Records founders Ken Irwin, Marian Leighton Levy, Bill Nowlin, and John Virant, who first signed her when she was 14 years old. Traditional horror movies with an easy-to-follow plot, relatable characters, and a healthy dose of scares are probably every horror fan’s comfort food. That’s because, when it comes to horror, the experimental and abstract genre pieces can be very hit or miss. In 2024 alone, I have come across In A Violent Nature, and I loved its take on the slasher subgenre. Bramayugam’s exploration of casteism and classism on a monochrome canvas was excellent. Oddity’s portrayal of revenge was haunting. And Outside’s use of the zombie subgenre to talk about the patriarchy was worthy of all the applause in the world. ‘The Penguin’ is the latest installment in Matt Reeves’ Batman Epic Crime Saga. The show follows Oswald Cobb played by Collin Farrell reprising his role from ‘Batman: Part I.’ So far the show is a massive success both when it comes to critics and audiences, it’s topping viewership charts for the sixth week in a row now, and this trend is expected to continue for the remainder of the show.

While the critics are praising Farrell’s portrayal of a notable Batman villain, one surprising hit was Christin Milioti’s portrayal of Sofia Falcone.

Following last night's new episode of The Penguin, HBO has released a teaser promo for next week's fourth instalment, "Cent'anni," which promises to reveal "the real story behind The Hangman."

After narrowly escaping with their lives in "Bliss," Oz (Colin Farrell) and Vic (Rhenzy Feliz) plan their next move. Sofia's (Cristin Milioti) fate is unknown after Oz decided to leave her behind at the end of the last episode, but there's a good chance she's been taken hostage by the Maroni family.

It looks like we're also going to find out what really went on with Sofia prior to her stint in Arkham, and what earned her the "Hangman" monicker. Oz indicated that there might be more to her murderous past than people realize, so perhaps we'll learn that Sofia is not the deranged serial killer she's been made out to be?

20 years after forever altering the landscape of dramatic television with The Sopranos, HBO has introduced its subscribers to The Penguin, a compelling dark crime drama with a similar tone and tenor. Based on the DC Comics character, The Penguin charts the rise and fall of Oswald Cobb (Colin Farrell), a high-ranking henchman for the deceased Italian-American mobster Carmine Falcone climbing the ranks of Gotham City's criminal empire.

Premiering on HBO on September 29, 2024, The Penguin has received such widespread acclaim that it currently ranks #124 on IMDb's Top 250 TV Shows. While it has a long way to go to catch The Sopranos (ranked #9), both shows explore the personal and professional exploits of organized criminals and their extended families, the dangers of mixing business with pleasure, and feature stunning tour-de-force performances from its morally conflicted main characters. As such, every fan of The Sopranos must watch The Penguin to witness HBO's 20-year crime series lineage.

The Penguin appears to be a big hit with fans, as viewers tune in to find out how "Oz Cobb" (Colin Farrell) will dig himself out of a number of potentially lethal situations and establish himself as Gotham's new crime boss.

According to Wbd, the series premiere has reached 10.4 million viewers after 11 days, taking The Batman spin-off above all current HBO series except for House of the Dragon and The Last of Us. "Epic Pictures’ specialty horror label Dread presents Beezel, the tale of a sinister secret hiding beneath the floors of a cursed New England home. Beezel will have a limited theatrical run beginning September 20, and on September 24 the film will be available to rent or purchase on video-on-demand (VOD).

Beezel was written by horror filmmaking duo Social House Films, composed of writer/director Aaron Fradkin and writer/star Victoria Fratz Fradkin. Since the 1990s, actress and producer, Sandra Bullock, has been a sweetheart of cinema who gained notoriety for popular movies, including Practical Magic, Miss Congeniality, and Gravity.
