Exclusive: The Writers Guild of America has placed producer Steve Small and his company Fifty Feet Movie, LLC on the union’s Strike/Unfair List over financial concerns on multiple films.
A memo sent to members on Wednesday points to Article 42 of the 2023 Minimum Basic Agreement, which allowed the guild to demand a surety bond from Fifty Feet “after determining that it is not financially responsible and is unlikely to meet its Mba obligations connection with multiple theatrical motion picture projects.”
Those films include the John Travolta starrer Cash Out, as well as two Sylvester Stallone pics, Alarum and The Epiphany.
To date, the WGA says that Fifty Feet has not posted the bond, prompting the placement on the Strike/Unfair List, which prohibits members from working for or optioning or selling material to those companies.
The WGA also called attention to Small’s other company, Convergence Entertainment Group, LLC,...

Exclusive: Out at the Cannes market, LA-based production company Convergence Entertainment Group is launching There There, which is being written and directed by the Polish brothers in their first collaboration in more than a decade.
The film has begun principal photography and the duo are hopeful it will premiere at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. This would be the sixth Polish Brothers film to premiere at the festival.
On There There, each of the twin brothers will write and direct one half of the movie without the other knowing anything about the other, resulting in two separate storylines that will be interwoven into a single feature-length film. This approach will enable each brother to explore the nature of the twin relationship from their own unique perspective without being influenced or constrained by the other’s vision.
The cast includes Gretchen Mol (Yellowstone), Shannon Sossamon (The Rules of Attraction), Corbin Bernsen (Major...

Featuring Sylvester Stallone in what sounds like a rare villain role, action thriller Alarum has just finished shooting. Scott Eastwood and Willa Fitzgerald also star.
The Shakespearian-sounding Alarum, an action thriller starring Sylvester Stallone, has just finished filming – and like Brad Anderson’s World-Breaker, is another mid-budget genre film looking for distribution at Cannes this week.
Directed by Michael Polish (Terror On The Prairie), Alarum appears to have cast Stallone in a rare villain role. To the best of our recollection, the only other time Sly’s played an antagonist was in Robert Rodriguez’s Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over in 2003.
Alarum’s leads are Scott Eastwood and Willa Fitzgerald, who play a pair of professional assassins who are off on a romantic break when they find themselves pursued by murderous CIA agents – the scariest of them played by Stallone.
