Lacking entertainment contents...

"The Seven Darks" from writer and director Alexander Henderson is a horror movie that I happened to stumble upon by random chance here in 2024. And with it being a horror movie that I had never heard about, much less watched already, of course I opted to sit down and watch it.

Now, I wasn't sure what to expect from writer and director Alexander Henderson, as I was not familiar with the movie at all. So on that account, I suppose that he had every opportunity to impress and bedazzle me with the story told in the movie.

The storyline was sort of an anthology of sorts. And that is not something I am overly keen on when I sit down to watch a horror movie, as horror anthologies are usually dubious. The stories told in "The Seven Darks" were mediocre at best, lacking that particular ingredient to make them interesting, scary and memorable. Sure, "The Seven Darks" is semi-watchable, but it is a rather forgettable horror viewing experience.

Needless to say that I wasn't familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. The acting performances in the movie were actually fair, despite the fact that the actresses and actors didn't exactly have an abundance of material to work with.

The movie was actually nicely filmed and adequately edited, which helped make the movie all the more bearable to sit through, because it wasn't as if the script and storyline was overwhelmingly interesting.

My rating of writer and director Alexander Henderson's 2024 movie "The Seven Darks" lands on a three out of ten stars.

I would definitely recommend this to anybody that's a fan of films like the ring or uncomfortable situations where the tension racks up.

The film which unfortunately yes is only one hour, when you get past the actual premise that every time there's a call something dark happens. The film has parts which actually made me Uncomfortable, The tension and the script were good. The actual moments when things are happening are probably better than most jump scare films I've seen. I do wish the film was an extra 30 minutes, but I did look up the director and he's known for doing shorts or small films.

Once about 10 minutes in and you realise what is going on and the storyline/narrative it is a very good film.
