Danny didn't prove anything by eating the mushroom. Most poisonous mushrooms won't do anything straight away, especially if you only eat one.
If you forage, you have to sample the produce and then wait to see if there is a reaction to find out if it is safe for consumption.
The Ashes are the English's way of being massively overdramatic.
England vs Australia is a long standing and ongoing rivalry, that began in 1877 and in 1882 when Australia won for the first time, the English papers printed obituaries because it was the "Death of cricket", and the bails were burnt; like they were cremating cricket and the ashes were placed in an urn, which is what is played for.
Since then the winner of England vs Australia is awarded the Ashes. But they don't get to take them, because the ashes are precious, so they get a £5 trophy from the local shop.
