- Attending a wedding with Jessica and Glenn, Stuart tries to reconfigure the seating plan after learning he won't be at a table with attractive, single women. Meanwhile, Jessica waits to hear about her call-back audition for the lead role in a network show.—Anonymous
- Jessica (Christine Woods) is auditioning for a part in a crime procedural, NCIS: LA, and is getting nervous even though the casting director is being kind. The director sends her outside to relax for a few minutes so she can continue her audition in a better state of mind. In the lobby, Jessica sees her frenemy, Amelia (Jenny Slate), who tells Jessica not to listen to the voice who is telling her "I'm not good enough, I'm not pretty enough, I don't belong here." Jessica cuts her off, saying she has to focus.
Stuart (Stephen Merchant) visits Wade (Nate Torrance) to borrow a cooler. He's excited because he's headed off to a wedding where he is supposed to be sitting in a table full of attractive single women. Wade is depressed over his failing marriage.
At the wedding, Jessica is sitting next to Glen (Sean Wing) and wants to know why she hasn't had a call-back for the crime show audition. Glen says they'll hear back by the end of the day. Stuart advances on a woman sitting by herself, only to make a quick u-turn when her boyfriend approaches and kisses her.
During the vows, Jessica and Stuart watch dreamily. Glen texts.
Stuart approaches his assigned seat at table 12 and is chagrined to see it's full of senior citizens and parents with crying children. He spots Table 4 as the one full of single women. He approaches the bride and tries several times to move tables but she explains they have a seating plan and that's that.
Stuart swaps place cards with Luke Watkins from Table 4, putting Luke at Table 12. Stuart joins the attractive women, but Luke approaches
Jessica spots Nicole Morgan (Alison Elliott), a playwright she admires. Glen makes the introductions and Jessica mentions she's writing her own play, "Descent Into Madness."
The bridge approaches Stuart at Table 4 and tell him he has to go back to Table 12. He endures sitting next to a noisy toddler and a man prattling on about Napa wine. He looks at Table 4 and at how much attention the Luke Watkins is getting from the women there. Stuart insults the child at his table and moves to eat alone at the gift table.
Jessica approaches Nicole Morgan and insists she watches her web series on her tablet then and there. Jessica pressures her to give her opinion, but the playwright won't, though she remains polite.
Stuart sees Kimberly, the beautiful model, at the reception. They sit at a table and Stuart listens to her talking about alien sightings. Kimberly compliments Stuart on his listening and suggests they have an after party in Stuart's room as the reception is over.
Jessica moves her chair next to Ms. Morgan who is losing patience. She tells Jessica the plot didn't really make sense and that it was a bit overwrought. She walks away. Glen appears and tells Jessica they still haven't heard from NCIS LA.
Stuart goes up to his room, tidies up, changes into more casual clothes, makes sure he has condoms, and waits for Kimberly. She knocks at the door and comes in. Stuart pours their drinks, then there's a knock at the door. It's Paul (Paul Brittain), apparently a friend of Kimberly's. He and Stuart eyeball each other.
Jessica proceeds to talk to both men but physically moves closer and closer to Paul. Paul and Kimberly ordered a large amount of room service food on Stuart's bill.
In their hotel room, Jessica is worked up over Nicole Morgan's review of Jessica's web series. Glen is trying to seduce her but ends up putting down her web series as well. Jessica excuses herself for a walk.
When Paul is in the bathroom, Kimberly asks Stuart if she and Paul can have Stuart's room for privacy. Paul is sharing a room with Luke, who has taken a girl to it. Stuart agrees to leave his own room and walks down to hotel's empty reception room, where he finds Jessica.
They help themselves to some leftover champagne and Stuart explains what happened with Kimberly in his room. Jessica encourages Stuart to stop trying to date super models and to be with normal people. He says he's not interested in normal people. She teases him about his dancing and he turns on music and starts dancing. Jessica gives him a dance lesson in the empty room. They laugh as they dance together.
After a few minutes, Glen enters the room and tells Jessica she got the part on NCIS LA. She hugs Stuart goodbye and rushes off, happy with Glen and her news.
Stuart gets back to his room to find a naked Kimberly sleeping alone in his bed. He takes a seat on the sofa and sleeps there.
In the morning, Kimberly thanks him and explains how Paul left without even saying goodbye. She kisses him on the cheek, calls him a nice guy, and leaves. Stuart packs up the extra food they had ordered from room service into the cooler.
Stuart is in Wade's hallway ready to return the cooler when he receives a text from Jessica, calling him Mr. Nice Guy and inviting him to a party on Friday. Stuart is elated and does a little dance in the hallway.
He walks in to Wade's room, ready to comfort his friend who is still depressed.
