Trust me this is not the average hungarian movie quality
hawayjeko21 April 2024
This film is a disaster. The actors act like they are in a YouTube video, not because one character is a tiktoker, but because of the quality of the acting. I'm sure they can do better, but for this movie it was more than enough. The film is a 'visit Hungary' promo film, literally the title should be this. They say things like "Come use the train, the ticket is cheap, it's fast and the consumption of the buffet car is included in the ticket price", or "I hear there are good baths, go there" or "there's that big lake, Lake Balaton go there and relax". The hotel, the cities are shot with moneyshots like a commercial (it is). The script is YouTube level, the story is even lower than that unfortunately. I was literally suffering halfway through the film, I didn't walk out of the cinema so I can write an objective review and because of the respect for the filmmakers. Of the jokes, 1 in 100 was good, hence the 2 points, but that was immediately followed by 3 or 4 terrible ones so I stopped laughing immediately and held my head instead.

And the worst part was that they ended with a cliffhanger made up by a 5 year old and the character literally announced that there will be a sequel. Please creators contact me, I will be very happy to give you tips on what is watchable and what the average viewer turns off at home after the 13th minute.

"Bonus Trip: a different Buddy Cop cliche"
roberthausmerter6 May 2024
"Bonus Trip" promised to be the next big thing in the buddy cop genre, but unfortunately, it falls short of the mark. While it does have its moments of brilliance, they are overshadowed by a lack of both comedy and action, leaving audiences wanting more.

The film follows the mismatched duo of Marshall and Demetrius as they attempt to take down a pety copyright gang but bumps into a notorious crime syndicate. The chemistry between Marshall and Demetrius is palpable, and they manage to inject some life into their characters despite the bumpy script.

One of the film's biggest flaws is its failure to strike a balance between comedy and action. While there are a few standout jokes that elicit genuine laughter, they are few and far between. Similarly, the action sequences, when they do occur, are well-executed, but they are too sparse to keep audiences fully engaged.

That being said, the film does have its redeeming qualities. Marshall and Demetrius deliver solid performances, and their dynamic as partners is believable and entertaining to watch. Additionally, the few action scenes that are present are expertly choreographed and provide a much-needed adrenaline boost.
