Weapons and The Three-Body Problem star Benedict Wong is ready to brave the post-apocalypse for Ridley Scott’s The Dog Stars. Scott’s next epic is currently shooting in Italy with Jacob Elodi, Margaret Qualley, Josh Brolin, and Guy Pearce leading the cast.

The Dog Stars hails from 20th Century Studios and is based on the 2012 novel by Peter Heller. Initially, Scott was reteaming with Gladiator II star Paul Mescal for The Dog Stars, but scheduling conflicts with his part in Sam Mendes’s Beatles anthology kept him from participating. Mescal plays Paul McCartney in Mendes’s upcoming Beatles film series, making him essential to the project. Mark L. Smith, who wrote The Revenant and the Netflix mini-series American Primeval, is partnering with Christopher Wilkinson to pen the screenplay.

Jacob Elordi has a harrowing experience as a prisoner-of-war in the new trailer for Prime Video’s new series. The Narrow Road to the Deep North is a new five-episode Australian drama TV series that premieres on April 18 on Prime Video in Australia, New Zealand and Canada. The show was filmed in New South Wales, Australia and is an adaptation of Richard Flanagan’s Booker Prize winner. Elordi leads the series as Dorrigo Evans, and Ciarán Hinds portrays the same character as an older man looking back on his experiences.

After working on videos, Kosinski would direct his first feature film in 2010, with the sequel Tron: Legacy. Going into the ceremony, Morgan Wallen led the field of nominees with seven nods to his name. However, he only took home a single award.

The 2024 CMA Awards will be taking place later tonight (November 20) at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.

The 58th Annual CMA Awards broadcasts live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena Wednesday, November 20 starting 8 p.m. Et on ABC and next day on Hulu.

The nominees were determined by eligible voting CMA members comprised of professionals within the country music industry.

Morgan Wallen leads with seven nominations, while other top nominees include Cody Johnson and Chris Stapleton with five nominations, and Post Malone and Lainey Wilson with four nominations each.

Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter, which made history after it spent four weeks on top of Billboard’s Top country albums chart, making her the first Black woman to achieve the feat, has been notably shut out of the ceremony’s nominations, despite qualifying for categories like single of the year, song of the year, album of the year, female vocalist of the year and music event of the year.

The 59th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards announced their official nominations on Tuesday morning, April 9. The awards will be handed out during a ceremony that will once again stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video and the Amazon Music channel on Twitch Live. Luke Combs leads the field with eight nominations for the 59th annual Academy of Country Music Awards, which were revealed this morning. Morgan Wallen and Megan Moroney are next with six apiece, followed by Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton and Lainey Wilson with five each. See the full list below.

Combs, Johnson, Stapleton, Wallen and Wilson will vie for the marquee Entertainer of the Year prize along with Kane Brown and Jelly Roll. The winners will be celebrated during the May 16 ceremony, which Prime Video will stream live from Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas.

The ACMs presents separate awards for Female and Male Artist of the Year, Duo and Group, Female and Male New Artist and New Duo or Group of the year.

Among the highlights are Tracy Chapman’s first ACM nom for writing, as her 1988 hit “Fast Car” was remade by Combs and became a crossover...

The 2024 CMT Music Awards are just wrapping up on Sunday night (April 7) at the Moody Center in Austin, Tex.

The annual awards show honored the best of country music videos over the past year, and was hosted by Kelsea Ballerini.

Throughout the night, many stars took the stage to present awards and there were several performances, including from Kelsea herself, Keith Urban, Trisha Yearwood, Sam Hunt and a huge group performance by both a reunited Sugarland and Little Big Town, who just announced they’re going on tour together later this year!

Jelly Roll was last year’s most-awarded artist at the CMT Music Awards and it looks like he has a chance to repeat.

He’s among the top nominees for the 2024 edition, a list that also includes Cody Johnson (who won the most awards in 2022), Kelsea Ballerini, Lainey Wilson and Megan Moroney. All have three nominations apiece.

Ballerini will host the fan-voted award show, which airs live from Austin, Texas’ Moody Center on Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 8:00-11:00 Pm, Et/Pt on CBS. The show will also stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.

Today’s list includes 14 first-time nominees, from breakthrough artists to out-of-genre superstars. The CMT Music Awards have a five-way tie for the most nominations going into the 2024 telecast, with Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Cody Johnson, Megan Moroney and the show’s host, Kelsea Ballerini, picking up three nods apiece.

The nominations arrived Wednesday, less than a month before the CMTs take place at Austin’s Moody Center on April 7.

As has been the custom with the CMT Awards of late, the lineup of nominees for the top prize, video of the year, is a particularly loaded one, with 16 candidates presented to fans for the initial round of voting, to be whittled down to six before the second round begins on April 1, finally knocked down to three top vote-getters as more voting ensues on show day.

Kelsea Ballerini hosts the 2024 CMT Music Awards

Five artists top the list of the 2024 CMT Music Awards nominees, with Cody Johnson, Jelly Roll, Kelsea Ballerini, Lainey Wilson, and Megan Moroney each picking up three nominations. This year’s nominees also include 14 first-timers: Amber Riley, Ashley Cooke, Bret Michaels, Chayce Beckham, Hozier, Koe Wetzel, Stephen Wilson Jr., Tyler Childers, Warren Zeiders, Zach Bryan, Anne Wilson, Ella Langley, The Castellows, and Tigirlily Gold.

Winners will be announced during the awards show to be held at Moody Center in Austin, Texas on Sunday, April 7th. Kelsea Ballerini is hosting the show, which will air at 8pm Et/Pt (tape-delayed on the West Coast) on CBS and stream live on Paramount+.

Earlier this month, we learned that Game of Thrones cast members Sophie Turner and Kit Harington will be reuniting for writer/director Natasha Kermani’s Gothic horror film The Dreadful… and close on the heels of that announcement comes the news that Turner has also signed on to star in a psychological thriller called Trust, which is coming our way from Twisted Pictures, the production company behind the Saw franchise.

Twisted Pictures has secured a multi-picture deal with Republic Pictures, with Republic Pictures acquiring the worldwide rights to Trust. As The Hollywood Reporter notes, “The Paramount Global housed Republic Pictures was revived in 2023 as an acquisitions only label, and has a slate that includes Samara Weaving starrer Azreal and Jon Voight action film The Painter.” The Republic Pictures name goes back to 1935 and the days when the company was a standalone studio that specialized in serials, Westerns, and B-movies.

Sophie Turner will star in the psychological thriller Trust from director Carlson Young and Saw outfit Twisted Pictures.

Republic Pictures has acquired the worldwide rights to the feature project, the first to be distributed under a multi-picture deal between Oren Koules’ Twisted Pictures and Republic.

Gigi Levangie penned the screenplay, with plot details for the project being kept under wraps. Producing alongside Koules is Miles Koules of Koulest Production. Twisted Pictures’s Dan Heffner and Ketura Kestin will executive produce with Lena Roklin of Luber Roklin Entertainment. Ethan Harari will co-produce.

Turner, repped by CAA and the U.K.’s Independent, is best know for her Emmy nominated role on HBO series Games of Thrones. Her recent credits include HBO’s The Staircase and Netflix feature Do Revenge. Upcoming projects are ITV’s Joan, which will see Turner star as Joan Hannington, the well-know English diamond thief.
