Decent enough low-budget indie slasher
kannibalcorpsegrinder29 August 2018
With the maniac still on the loose, the lone survivor of his previous rampage struggles to regain his memory of the incident in order to rescue his kidnapped girlfriend as the rampage continues throughout the community.

Overall, this was a decent if flawed overall effort. One of it's strongest aspects is the creation of a fun low-budget atmosphere that leaves this with some rather creepy moments. Built around the idea of the killer getting to play within the community and getting to continue his rampage, there's some fun to be had with the stalking scenes featuring the killer striking various one-shot characters that stumble upon the killer. The ambush on the promoter out in the alley, the individual attacks on the lesbian couple in their home or the sequence with the surprise appearance at the young family all come together into being rather fun style stalking scenes that usually appear in these kinds of features. With a nice finale that also features a fun encounter at a music concert and the final confrontation in the basement lair of the killer which gives this the type of gore prominent in low-budget indie slasher efforts. These here provide this with enough to hold it up over the few minor flaws. One of the weaker elements to this one is the fact that there's quite a pronounced amount of filler material in a film that really shouldn't require any. Despite the origins of stepping this one up from the previous short, the languid pacing of the first half here really makes this feel longer than it should with scenes of the cops standing around at crime-scenes waiting for others to respond, seeing the entire journey of character's going around town talking to each other or wasting endless amounts of time just following the survivor around as he struggles to regain his composure. The other issue here is the rather clumsy setup for the killers' motivation which is rather shocking and somewhat hamfisted by being thrown into the film so late that it doesn't really have any impact or chance to resonate before it's over. Some might be put off by the low-budget quality of the production, but otherwise, it's not as bad as it could've been.

Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Violence, Graphic Language and Nudity.

A fun film that teaches the dangers of lawn equipment when used for Nefarious purposes
bmoviep29 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I've often said that the easiest way to come up with a concept for a B-Movie is to add the word "Massacre" to the end of literally any noun. After watching the the 2016 horror/comedy "Leaf Blower Massacre 2" by T-Nasty Productions, I can now state with absolute certainty that my long held hypothesis was in fact correct.

While I haven't seen the original "Leaf Blower Massacre", I had no difficulties following the plot of this sequel and found watching it to be an entertaining and surprisingly brutal experience none the less.

The story follows a detective duo of questionable competence investigating a series of leaf blower related murders. The murders are somehow connected to professor Shaver Jennings and the recent disappearance of his fiancé.

The film teaches the potential dangers a leaf blower can pose in the wrong hands. The killer seemingly has a penchant for creative murders such as blasting victims to death, impaling victims and even converting a leaf blower into a makeshift machine gun, the killer successful turns murder by leaf blower into an art.

Each murder is accompanied by a chorus of heavy metal music which helped accentuate the brutality of these scenes, while turning each murder into a nonsensical music video one can't help enjoying.

At the climax of the film, Shavar has a final showdown with the murderer, where past mistakes come to light and all dangerous lawn equipment are retired back to the tool shed where they belong.

"Lawn Mower Massacre 2" manages to balance gratuitous violence with absurd humor in a way that never felt forced. The story managed to tie together appropriately, leaving no loose ends or questions unexplained.

If you have an affinity for practical blood effects, murder mysteries, and every day house hold items being converted into deadly weapons, then "Lawn Mower Massacre 2" is definitely worth consideration.

Video store nostalgia
mercmahlin16 April 2020
Takes me back to a time where I sat in the horror section of the video store, out of the radar of my parents eye and checked out the covers of vhs tapes I'd never be allowed to rent. On point with the sticker reproduction on the front. Big Ari fan so you won me over with that too! Cheers! Thank you so much!

Great homage to Slasher flicks of the 80's

Director Anthony Cooney brings us Leaf Blower Massacre 2! A awesome tribute to the Slasher flicks of the 80's. A really fun, bloody and boob filled horror flick. Oh and wait it has the first Jason (Ari Lehman). And fan favorite cult icon Christopher Kahler. Shavar is grieving over the death of his finance. He wants revenge and is searching for the freak who did this. Also in on this case is. A senior detective and his rookie partner are assigned to this case and hot on the trail of this garden tool killer. A great cast does a great job under a really dedicated Director. Speaking from experience a project like this takes a lot. Your working long hours and a small project. But this project gets done and really impressed me. A talented crew and cast made this movie shine! A really cool soundtrack adds to the movie. For a limited budget this movie did well And provides some solid entertainment. This is a great weekend popcorn and beer movie. Give it a try, won't be disappointed and hats off to a dedicated filmmaker, who I hope does a Leaf Blower Massacre 3.
