A sweet family movie
AmakoaAkana2 November 2015
I am the kind of moviegoer who wants to see a simple, happy family movie and Zoey to the Max was almost perfect for me. Cassidy Mack played 13 year old Zoey, a naive shy girl who can never do anything right and is shuffled from home to home until she ends up in jail, after a misadventure with bullies. I don't think I have seen any young teenage characters being so painfully shy and sweet as Zoey, not even Charlie in Perks of a Wallflower.

The movie is simple kind of silly fare, just the thing for someone who doesn't want violence, sex, drug and/or deeply depressing details to invade their enjoyment. It sort of reminds me of the classic Savannah Smiles. (see) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084633/

A sugar sweet family movie

Warning: Spoilers
Zoe is a naive thirteen year old from Los Angeles. Zoe had a rough time in her young life, moving from foster home to foster home. Nobody seemed happy to keep her. In school she is the odd girl who gets pestered. As such, she easily gets in to trouble, but she has a good heart.

Her life changes when she escapes from an unwanted situation, and ends up in Palm Springs where the local sheriff and his wife take her in when her present foster family returns her to the system.

Determined to not screw this up, she's on her best behavior. Will she be able to stay with this family and friends?

This movie is sugar sweet and the acting isn't that great, but none-the-less, it's a nice family-movie. I enjoyed the movie (yes even as an 40+ adult). Families can watch this without having to worry about bad language, extreme violence, nudity or other unwanted influences.

Good warm-hearted story

A good story about a girl in the foster care way of life, that shares her emotions dealing with simple things in life, even a small side story. Not the best acting, but not the worst. It was good to see Amy Smart in a family movie.

not bad

Contrived script and some awkward acting. Definitely for kids. Overall not bad, once.
