Recently divorced Melanie and her son Jason visit a remote island for Christmas, only to find themselves running a real working lighthouse where she connects with the curt but cute owner.

When Heidi's ex-husband lets their son down, who was supposed to visit him over Christmas, she desperately searches for a place where she and her son can go to lift his spirits. She finds accommodation in a picturesque, old lighthouse. There, she discovers that they are expected to decorate the entire lighthouse for the city's traditional Christmas celebration-something she had not read in the fine print. The owner of the lighthouse, David, insists that they must get it done. Meanwhile, he secretly attempts to sell the lighthouse.
