Sex & Nudity

- This season features much less fanservice/sexual focus then Nisemonogatari, however still contains occasional fanservice, partial nudity, and sexual humor.
- Two female characters shower together; the outlines of their breasts/buttocks are seen.
- The recap episode of Nekomonogatari Black features a female character wearing the same skimpy lingerie throughout that she did in the original.
- The recap episode of Bakemonogatari features a scene in which a female showers, with close-ups on the outlines of her breasts/buttocks. There are also references to an attempted rape.
- Some occasional jokes are made about Araragi being a lolicon. He at one point happily offers to share a bed with a junior high girl, however is quickly knocked out by another girl, who tells the junior high girl "I just saved you from becoming a mother."
Violence & Gore

- Moderate to strong fantasy violence is present in every arc.
- One scene shows various snakes impaled against a tree, covered in blood.
Profanity

- Depending on the translator, there can be some heavy swearing said by some characters. Lines like "I'll beat the shit out of you" or "shut the fuck up" have been said in the Japanese equivalent though for the English audience's sake has been changed to "I'll kick your ass" or "shut the hell up".
- For the most part it is virtually nonexistent and fairly mild.
- The official subtitles feature one memorable use of 'goddamn', as well as occasional use of 'damn', 'hell', and 'ass'.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

- At one point a character of legal age is implied to be drinking alcohol at the bar in the hotel he is staying at, though it is not explicitly said or shown.
- In a flashback a character is shown smoking just as he did in the original. This character is also brought up again in one of the arcs and is also depicted with a cigarette in his mouth.
- In some of the arcs there are mild references to drugs though can easily be missed or fly over someone's head.
- A young girl is offered and at one point is briefly seen drinking sake.
Frightening & Intense Scenes

- Disturbing imagery and surrealistic animation is present throughout, as it is in any other Monogatari or SHAFT production.
- The darkness may be frightening to some.
- One arc features zombie-like creatures that may be frightening to sensitive viewers. Some of the apparitions may also be frightening.
Spoilers
Violence & Gore
- The recap episode of Nekomonogatari Black features the same strong gore that the original had, such as Araragi's body being torn in two.
- A surprising scene of strong violence occurs in the final arc when Kaiki is stabbed by a junior high student. We see blood pouring from his wound, which is particularly unexpected as the majority of the arc had lacked any violence at all.
Profanity
- At one point a juniour high student loses her composure and uses the word "fuck" several times in a row. She says "I fucking hate the lot of you! But we're still classmates, for fuck's sake!" as well as a case of "motherfucker".
