    Love the storyline

I took my whole family, ranging from age 10 to 80, to watch the movie, and everyone loved it!

The director did a good job controlling the pace of the movie. All the main characters' backgrounds and motivations were explained sufficiently but not overdone. The pacing is right on the spot, and there are a few unexpected twists that kept the audience engaged the whole time!

The main characters did a great job making each character unique in personality. However, the brilliance doesn't stop with the leads; the supporting roles contribute significantly, enhancing the overall cinematic experience.

In a saturated film landscape, this one stands out as a beacon of exceptional storytelling and stellar performances. It transcends the realm of mere entertainment, offering an immersive experience that resonates long after the credits roll. This cinematic gem deserves applause for its nuanced storytelling, unexpected twists, and commendable acting skills. A masterpiece that leaves an indelible mark on the audience's heart and mind. Highly recommend!

    Horribly Miscasted

This movie was terribly miscasted, which proves that some pop singers should stick to their day-jobs singing and dancing for their audience base. Unbelievable, horribly bad, and cringey acting throughout the entire film. Wannabe badasses but those smooth sissy babyfaces were just unconvincing and comical delivering those streetwise-thug dialogues, which just came across as being totally ridiculous and distracting from the storylines. Maybe try pursuing different genres such as comedies, musicals, and/or romcoms in their next movie projects where their 'talents' might be more fitting and believable. 😂

    The Moon Thieves

Though it does over-complicate the plot at times. I did quite enjoy this daft crime caper set amidst the world of luxury watches. "Vincent" (Edan Lui) is a bit of a whizz when it comes to creating fake watches. He scavenges original parts, though, he is no cheap and cheerful merchant. He's also got a game going validating valuable timepieces for the wealthy, but clueless, folks who rather foolishly trust him to be honest!! Anyway, the plastic jacket-clad local kingpin "Uncle" (Keung To) - who looks about twelve - has his eyes set on a triptych of one-off devices that were supposedly worn by Picasso and lost after his death. They've turned up for auction in Tokyo, so "Vincent" is cajoled into the project along with his handsome buddy "Yoh" (Anson Lo) and two henchmen - the "Chief" (Louis Cheung) and his dim-witted muscle "Mario" (Michael Ning) and soon enough they are in Japan laying the plans for an intricate sting operation. "Vincent" has had a lifelong passion for the "Moonwatch". This is the watch worn by Buzz Aldrin when he went to the moon - but it, too, has disappeared. When it turns out that it, too, is at the same jewellers the whole carefully orchestrated operation goes a bit awry and that causes all of our would-be thieves to think again about what they are doing, why they are doing it - and just what's the motive of their childlike boss back home. Lui is quite efficient here as the boffin-thief, and there's a decent pace as the drama, peppered with a little comedy and an entertaining heist scenario flows along well enough until the lively conclusion. That's a wee bit convoluted, but it just about works with a solid production, not too much script and a few engaging on-screen performances from a cast who looked like they were enjoying this lark.

A Captivating Blend of Entertainment and Surprise

After a string of disappointing movies, Film Director Steve Yuen has made a triumphant comeback with his latest offering, "The Moon Thieves." This film is a delightful combination of entertainment, humor, and thrilling action that will keep you engaged from start to finish.

One of the standout aspects of "The Moon Thieves" is its plot twist. It manages to be entertaining without going overboard, keeping the audience guessing and engaged throughout. Yuen's masterful storytelling keeps the viewers on the edge of their seats, eagerly awaiting the next unexpected turn.

The film owes much of its success to the stellar performances of seasoned actors Louis Cheung and Michael Ning. Their skillful acting brings depth and authenticity to the characters, forming the very backbone of the movie. Cheung and Ning's chemistry on screen is evident, and their performances leave a lasting impact on the audience.

Adding to the excitement is the special guest star, Keung To, who portrays the villainous character of Uncle Roy. Keung To's portrayal is a revelation, as he surprises us with a seemingly innocent baby face and an underlying demonic nature. This unexpected twist adds a layer of intrigue and surprise to the film, making it all the more captivating.

"The Moon Thieves" is a refreshing and enjoyable movie that showcases Yuen's talent for storytelling and his ability to create a well-rounded cinematic experience. With its entertaining blend of humor, action, and an engaging plot, this film is a must-watch for movie enthusiasts.

🌝 A Fun Watch that with a Few Tweaks, could of Improved the Film Further ⌚

Just Got out of a The Moon Thieves Screening.

This Film could of been even better with just a few decisions and certain tweaks.

Things I liked about the Film -

    1. 🎉 Firstly, The Tone, I Love this Style, you're already ahead of the Game when you Manage to Nail a Binary of a Whimsical Tone Mixed Perfectly with a Seriously Sudden Tone. As a Result, It's Just Super Entertaining to Watch.

    2. 🎵 The Score was so Good, Again, it added to the Overall Tone of the Film.

    3. 👪🙋 The Group of 4, I thought were really good, each working off of eachother in both Comedic and Serious Moments.

    4. 😠 Keung To, Such a Good Decision to cast this Guy. He's Got this Boyish thing about him, yet he's Dangerous as Hell. Excellent Decision.

    5. 🔫 The Scene with Chief and the Young Guy at Gun Point such a Great Scene. Great Build up Towards that entire scene too.

    6. 💥 The Action and Heist Elements were Good to watch.

    Things I didn't like -

    1. Sometimes, certain parts felt a little Rushed. The Fireworks Plan for Example, it just was out of nowhere.

    2. The Ending had too many Reveals in my opinion, way too many. I think the Truck Plan was all they Needed to end the film.

    3. Kazuya Tanabe. I wanted him to be Factored a lot more into the Overall Film.

Overall, even with it's Flaws, I enjoyed it.
