One of the greatest masterpeice of KDramas. Just like everyone out there who watched this show,I also want more. It is abrupt to end it here. But that wasn't the shows first objective and you can confirm it by rewatching the first 2 episodes. It was about Ha Eun Gyeol and how he can become a musician without upsetting his parents and not leading a double life, him getting out of the trophy cabinet of his father and not being an angel anymore. It was and is about he becoming himself. The emotional seen of Yi Chan losing his hearing was amazing and very important. If yi Chan didn't lose his hearing, Eun gyeol wouldn't be the guy he is today. Having a single parent who could hear and speak would change the burden that eun gyeol ever felt and gyeols character wouldn't turn out the way he is supposed to be. They did an amazing job of keeping a facade of Yi chans accident to be the solution to Eun Gyeols life but it was always about his mother's situation that needed to be changed to make it better. Really nice setup and really great ending but not perfect.
The problem with the last episode is the shows greatness itself. Ep 16 by itself is outstanding but will always be looked down because of it being the last episode. You need to show more. The show setup amazing characters besides Ha Eun gyeol that you just want to know about the rest of the characters story too. There are 3 other important characters too who go through strong arcs throughout the show. You have to answer some questions about them too besides the main guy. What about se gyeong and ji hwans relationship and their conversation with on eun Yu? How did Chung ah help Yi Chan overcome his deafness? How would yi Chan and Chung ah react to on eun Yu who looks like se gyeong? There is no way they can forget both eun Yu and eun gyeol from the past which literally shaped their life. What about metaphor On and Eun Ho? If both Chung ah and Yi Chan studied abroad then how did eun gyeol ever learn guitar from Mr. VIVA? They wouldn't be poor to live in that small place and he won't meet him. Why is the grandfather capable of time travel? There is so much that you can literally extend it by 4 episodes or atleast 1 more episode/special. Come on we need it. Otherwise it will lose its glory.
