Beauty & the Beast 2012 Blasts Back with S2
KarinBW6 October 2013
Warning: Spoilers
I had to download S2E01 via covert maneuvers because I live in Australia (where we don't get S2 and are not likely to) but all the effort was so worth it! Best season opener ever. It had everything: humor, sadness, tears, hope, a feel of the epic(ness) to come and above all else, the best, most badass and hot Vincent (played brilliantly by Jay Ryan) you could possibly imagine. A vulnerable, totally messed up Catherine (understandable in the circumstances). What would you do to reunite with the love of your life? Kristin Kreuk was amazing in this episode. A tough exterior masking deep, deep hurt and loneliness. Great action sequences, good guys, bad guys, plots within plots. JT (Austin Basis), Tess (Nina Lisandrello) and even Gabe (Sendhil Ramamurthy) were all great foils and provided awesome comic relief. There was no part of this episode I didn't love except for one thing - it was too short. Roll on episode 2. Beauty and the Beast 2012 Rebooted? Bring it! (Watch it on Monday nights at 9pm ET on the CW)

Season 2 BatB is off to a Stellar Start ~ Totally Beasterrific!!!
mercydarcy-706-1325358 October 2013
This might well be the BEST episode of BatB I've seen so far ~ excellent new direction ~ tantalizing mythology ~ killer pace ~ gripping action sequences and the Beast FX ~ scary good! The cherry on top? Vincent and Catherine's achingly angsty encounters as they attempt to reconnect with each other after their heartbreaking separation last season. As always I am floored by Vincent and Cat's intense chemistry which leaves me breathless and wanting more of them each time. Never have I enjoyed a season premiere so much which is evidenced by a personal record of some 100+ tweets from me today when this episode aired. Who Am I appears to have found its identity in the seasoned hands of new show runner Brad Kern who also wrote this wonderful season opener. BatB is packing so much heart and heat that I'm chomping at the bit for next week's episode and wanting many more seasons of this unique love story to enjoy.

Hold on to your hats people

Warning: Spoilers
This is by far, the most exciting transformation of a TV show I have seen. Is it possible to go from EPIC to greater than EPIC? Season one was romantic. It touched a piece of this #beasties soul that no other show in, let's say, 35 years ever has. It made me want more, it had me joining a fandom, entering online polls, getting up early to participate in Twitter trends, it became my muse and brought me back to writing poetry again and showed me a new interest in writing Fan Fiction. Now we have season 2 and I think…. I am becoming even more obsessed than ever. The characters all share the same amazing chemistry and Jay Ryan and Kristin Kreuk as Vincent and Catherine respectively, certainly draw you in again with their chemistry that is off the charts even with Vincent 2.0 not knowing who Catherine is. But Beast 2.0 still knows his Catherine and his instincts still have him saving her even on a separate kill and destroy mission. Beast 2.0's first thought is to save Catherine. To say I am excited for the rest of the season, is somewhat understating it. Great job everyone involved.

Different but good different !

Warning: Spoilers
OK so like every Beastie out there I was waiting this since May !! Finally BatB is back !! We were aware by the promo that it will a change with the arrival of Brad Kern as show-runner , and boy sure it changes !! But in a good way !! I mean the rhythm is up , but we still have those moments to make you feel "Ok now that's how it's supposed to be !!!" I'm not going to reveal anything or writing any spoilers, I'm just going to say , if you're not a Beastie yet , give BatB a try it's crazy good and really different from season 1 !! The actors are damn good, Jay Ryan back in his "bad boy" attitude, just blow me away !!! Kristin Kreuk more sensitive but so strong at the same time , we can feel her pain too ... Without forgetting Austin Basis, who as usual is a wonderful JT, Nina Lisandrello is a fantastic Tess and my "special" mention goes to Sendhil Ramamurthy who is just great in is new "position" struggling to win back trust among everything else !! To be short : watch it , you won't regret it !!

Blown away with S0201
dendy1949 October 2013
Warning: Spoilers
I'm in the UK and as we won't get the Season 2 until January 2014 I watched online. (Couldn't wait that long to see it I'd die !!) And it was so worth it - I am blown away after that cliffhanger of a season 1 finale never thought the first episode of season 2 would be this good. Its slick heart rending lots of action and great acting from our main characters. The beast Vincent (Jay Ryan) is back and supercharged and brilliantly played by Jay. Catherine is torn apart but still fighting like mad (Kristin Kreuk) is brilliant. And the superb Austin Basis (JT) is the perfect foil backed up by the ever present Tess and Gabe yes Gabe (he didn't die). Oh and that brilliant chemistry between VinCat is still there. For those who haven't seen it go watch it on CW website you won't regret it. Can't wait for next week to get here.My fav word BRILLIANT says it all.

Not Sure How This is Going to Play with Non-Invested Viewers
jnmcss9 October 2013
Great new look and feel, changing the production team has brought a bit of professionalism to the production values - could do better still - a few stupid moments and Catherine still not being portrayed as the character needs to be - Kristin Kreuk does have a couple of really good scenes - and her fighting skills are better than last season. Jay Ryan is great and his new super-soldier thing is so different from previous Vincent - and that could be a problem for returning viewers and even new viewers - some of the people watching this episode with me didn't relate to this at all - they were all confused in that they thought this was a LOVE STORY between Vincent and Catherine. Hope the showrunner is not so entranced by his own brilliance that he forgets the real heart of this story - stop keeping Vincent and Catherine apart NOW - remember, together they can overcome anything. Bit worrying when the scene that got the most attention was when Tess is talking to Gabe telling him she is fed up with the Muirfield/finding Vincent angstfest - viewers of the first episode of a long arc shouldn't be picking up on stuff like that - bit worrying for building the numbers needed to keep this show healthy

Loved! Can't wait for more!

Loving the look and feel of season 2!! The first episode of season 2 was epic! The Chemistry between Jay Ryan and Kristen Kreuk (Vincent & Catherine) was AMAZING as it was last season!!! Austin Basis is hilarious and always delivers! Love the character of JT and hope to see much more of him this season. The new beast makeup is so much better then last season and the overall appearance of the show is wonderful. I love that they are shooting in NYC for some of the exterior shots. Looking forward to seeing how Catherine finds out about her dad and what he has done to Vincent. This show is a must see if your looking for great romance and action. Check out the first season on Netflix and tune in on Mondays on the CW.

So not worth the time
texwoman3618 October 2013
Warning: Spoilers
I loved season 1 and I was looking forward to another great season. Unfortunately, this has started out in a way that makes it impossible for me to continue watching this series. Doesn't it bother anyone that Vincent just slept with a woman he doesn't even know, just like every other sleazy guy out there willing to take advantage of a vulnerable women. Also, doesn't it bother anyone that he is now a cold blooded killer? Before, he always killed in defense of himself or someone he was protecting. He has always hated himself for what he was and what he did, but he accepted it because he was saving innocent people. Now, he kills on demand. Not everyone he killed was the head of Merefield. If and when he remembers who he is, how does he live with that? And so I must say goodbye Beauty and the Beast.

Amazing Start!
Season 2 is finally here! All the previews and clips beasties found paled in comparison to actually seeing every action sequence play out on our TVs. The revamped series showed its changes right away with different sets, more action, and a newly charged beast thrown in the mix. Although the police procedural element is no longer in play, it will be interesting to see how the supernatural elements compensate for the procedural loss. Above all, the romance element was still very present in this first episode between Catherine and Vincent, not only in their shared kiss, but also in the amount of chemistry they exuded in every scene together. Kudos to the writers, producers and cast of BATB! So looking forward to the rest of this season!

Way to kick off a season!!
rudk2-520-96055421 October 2013
They really brought this series back with a punch! Loved Beast 2.0. He's a little more assertive, dangerous, mysterious...(all of which is very sexy) and way more unpredictable. Which will prove to be interesting as the season goes on. J.T., as always delivers some much needed, well timed humor. You can always count on him. :) This show was my most anticipated premiere, and I honestly was not disappointed! The last scene with Vincent and Catherine was very touching. Finally she could do what she has needed to do for a long time. Can't wait to see where the writers will take this! The story line, writing, acting, editing, shooting etc were all excellent. I don't want to give anything away, but I will say I really like one of the beasts new abilities. Particularly how it relates to Cat. If you have never watched, do it! It's a great show. Very Well Done!!

Amazing start to Season 2
ruthjc-588-7235099 October 2013
Enjoyed the first episode, very action packed and the beast is ramped up! Beast 2.0! Jay Ryan is very menacing as the beast and convincing us he is not a nice guy this time around. Austin Basis is a strong actor who balances the dark tones with witty comments and humor. Kristin Kreuk will be kicking butt and taking names all season and we can't wait! Liking Sendhil Ramamurthy back and non beastly. He even looks younger! Only thing I didn't like was not enough Nina Lisandrello! She is a good friend to Catherine but understandably a little tired of her obsession with finding Vincent. I think the writers and new show runner Brad Kerns have a more focused approach this year and will be able to offer more depth to the characters and give the audience more understanding of what motivates them to make the choices they have. Can't wait to see more!

Fantastic Start
ruthjc196215 December 2013
It was a much anticipated return and the first episode delivered beyond expectations. So enjoyed the show! I am very curious as to where the season will take us. Hard to see our favorite couple not together but know that they will eventually find their way back. Great to see Kristin Kreuk back in action, that woman is amazing with her stunt work. The pacing was fast and kept you on the edge of your seat for the whole episode. It truly felt like we only got to watch ten minutes not a full episode! It is going to be another amazing roller coaster ride for the beasties for sure! Just hope we can all hang on and handle the ups, downs and loop de loops this show has been known to throw at us!

Coming Back with an Edge
WriterFreak00111 October 2013
Warning: Spoilers
After a long wait, CW's Beauty and the Beast came back with an edge! Better fighting, intense but heart-melting romance and best of all: a new BEAST for Vincent!

As I was watching the show (live, of course) I was texting my friend back and forth, sending her my comments as the show progressed. Both of us agreed that Catherine (Kristin Kreuk) is bad-ass! Her fighting technique has certainly improved and was even more intense than Vincent (Jay Ryan)'s fight with Zao Li (spelling?).

Alongside the intense action, the first episode of the season is definitely "achingly romantic" as said by Kristin Kreuk during ComicCon 2013. I watch a lot of television and never before has a series ever made me shed tears. However, BATB S2E1 was definitely a tear-jerking episode! My heart had reached out for Catherine when Vincent claims he doesn't know whom she is. I also couldn't help but blubber like a baby during the tender scene between Catherine and Vincent when she confides in him for comfort. The best part? He gives it to her without hesitation! He even kisses her! :)

Aside from the episode being a FANTASTIC start to the season, the crew picked great music to reflect the scenes! Hearing "I Can't Make You Love Me" by Dave Thomas Junior as the tender comforting VinCat scene played out made my heart melt even more! Good job, BATB Writers! I look forward to a great season!
