Ruth sits on death row, whilst her friends campaign for her on the outside. Ruth has only her memories to keep her company, but she's conflicted, at times she wants to escape her impending death, at times she wants to mount a campaign and leave. John Bickford continues to fight for clemency.

After the previous episode, it felt as though it had reached its conclusion, I wasn't sure where they could go with it, it's ended up being the best episode of the lot, I thought this one was excellent, so good.

One bit that was interesting, Ruth was asked where she'd moved to be, it didn't involve her children, the way they've portrayed her here, she wasn't in the slightest bit interested in her kids.

One thing you truly see though, David is an utter monster, his behaviour was abhorrent throughout, there didn't seem to be any tenderness.

Desmond is definitely shown in a somewhat sympathetic light, sympathetically played by the excellent Mark Stanley, he seemed to try his best for her.

Lucy Boynton was perfectly cast, but I'd argue it's Toby Jones who's stealing the show, as he so often does, it reminds me of the role he played in Agatha Christie's Witness for the Prosecution from a few years back.
