Ignat, a welder with experience, remains unemployed, and his wife Marina unsuccessfully invests family savings in a financial pyramid. Stepson Sanya offers Ignat to participate in an esports tournament, which has a large cash prize at stake. But the 50-year-old welder has never played "computer shooting games."

At the computer club, Ignat meets the Piranha team: Erik, Lyova and Rustam. Teenagers meet a new player with interest and some skepticism, and for Ignat, training turns into a lot of stress. Meanwhile, Marina, on the advice of a friend, goes to psychological training, where she finds out that Ignat is the source of her stress.

Ignat spends a lot of time with his stepson and learns about his learning problems. Sanya announces to his parents his decision not to go to university, but Ignat proves to him by personal example that there are no unsolvable problems.

Lyova gets involved with bad people and gets into trouble. Ignat teaches the boys what true friendship means. Now they need to protect their friend from real bullies.

Marina decides to return the money she lost in the pyramid, and is going to work in Kamchatka. Rustam's father forbids him to participate in an esports tournament. Ignat has to solve these two problems.

Team leader Erik is not in touch. His search leads the guys to a house full of people with guns. It turns out that Erik is not who he claims to be.

The parents notice that Sanya is behaving strangely. He borrows money from his mother and friends, sold a video card and even got into his sister's piggy bank. Marina suspects her son of being addicted to illegal substances.

Ignat is making progress in a computer game. The team is looking forward to the first stage of the tournament, which is scheduled to take place this evening. But Ignat is being restored at the factory and is urgently called to the night shift.

During the game, the lights are turned off in the computer club. Ignat goes to the factory, to the chief's office, where there is a single modern computer. The welder has to admit to his colleagues that he is playing "shooting games".

Ignat wins the first tournament competitions and becomes an Internet star. He finds out that the blackout in the computer club was not an accident.

Ignat begins to get conceited from sudden fame. He quarrels with the boys and colleagues at the factory. Marina also sees changes in her husband and thinks that he has a mistress.

Marina gets a job at the factory as a cook in order to figure out Ignat's mistress. The rivals in the tournament offer the Piranhas to play a training game. Ignat and Erik agree.

Piranhas are attacked by hackers during a tournament game and lose the fight. On top of everything else, Ignat, returning home, finds Marina in the arms of ex-husband Roma.

The guys gather at the old cottage to train and play together. It turns out that without parental supervision, a team of teenagers cannot establish a way of life. Ignat decides to call for help from an unexpected ally.

Marina puts things in order and creates comfort in the dacha. During the semifinal game, a lightning strike breaks the wires. The team has 20 minutes to restore the Internet connection. Ignat's welding skills and teamwork help the guys overcome these difficulties.

The Piranhas advance to the finals, but Ignat is being taken out of the game by the bouncers of the tournament organizer. He is taken to the police department, and the final game is in jeopardy.

Ignat escapes from the police department to participate in the final game. Unexpectedly, a blogger from Moscow suggests that the guys continue their esports career at a professional level.
