The Futurama Mystery Liberry

I can't imagine I'm saying anything new here, but the latest Futurama revival runs past what made this show so good- the characters ,and their relationships , navigating the most unlikely of sci fi situations as if they are commonplace. The later half of that sentence? Check. The former? Not even close.

The heart of the show is simply gone. I keep watching and hoping to will return.

Then episodes like this come out. Wow. Filler episodes are fine and sometimes fun. This one is excruciating. The characters are reimagined as classic kid's mystery characters. All of whom are interchangeable , which I guess is the point. For 22 minutes, it's the point. No other apparent point.

At least it's not another "topical" episode months or years past the relevance of its concept.
