not bad butnot great

The ladies in the movie are very beautiful and this movie led me to the sinister squad with Lindsey Sawyer as Cinderella. Overall this is better than Sky High and that is about that. Enjoy beautiful people being beautiful and half decent actors....surprise.

UnProfessional Acting and DIrecting Make This Film A Complete Mess
Diane-73676618 May 2015
Firstly, that guy above me who wrote one review for IMDb - for this movie - and gave it a 10 - that guy just about admits to being on the crew of the film.

This is a fairly bad movie and most definitely not worth the time to view. The acting is that of a poor high school drama club, the "special effects" essentially consist of occasional blue glowing eyes and the direction is virtually non-existent.

The plot line nothing you haven't seen before, exposure to radiation gives teenagers mutant super-powers. Right.

The movie openly adopts a graphic novel approach with occasional cuts to an comic book overlay of the current scene. Nice but I'm pretty sure we've seen that before too.

We live in an age where almost anyone can make a film because the tools to do so are so easily accessibly. This film once again proves that not everyone should.

Hard To Watch
livestraightedge26 December 2023
Normally I am willing to extend a little lenience to low budget and DIY made movies but this was hard to watch. Additionally I tend to have a soft spot for sci fi films, which typically require a little more suspension of disbelief. But there are no redeeming qualities here. The dialogue varies from awkward to cringe inducing and the acting is somehow even worse. It's difficult to single out any of the actors as the worst as none ever come close to believable and most boarder on laughable. Admittedly the script and direction seem equally to blame and at best verge on a rip off of other sci movies, most notably "Chronicle." However the comparison is almost unfair as the FX here are cheap and add an element of unintentional comedy. The soundtrack and music are all over the place and mostly ill fitting. The driving scenes are absolutely hilarious and recall the same level of authenticity of 90's sitcoms.

Ultimately even as this looks like it was shot and made by a local group of kids- film making has become so easy and accessible this is no longer a valid excuse. Not only would I advise against watching this, even with a Hollywood budget I think the results would be the same. And such, everyone involved should avoid film making altogether.

Pleasantly surprised
gdespinoza22 March 2016
We popped in the Blu-Ray and the menu came up as expected. What wasn't expected was the amount of work that went into the menu alone, and this surprise set the tone for what we'd soon discover was true of the entire movie! If I only had one word to sum up this film, it would have to be this: impressive. It delivered an entertaining and engaging story with a fairly high production quality for a tiny fraction of the budget of a mainstream production.

There are some really funny moments of writing in this film. When Gwen says, "Us in charge of the world. What could possibly go wrong?" and then we cut to Denny's teacher writing "Mutually Assured Destruction" on the chalkboard. Tasty. Or when the assassin spits out "Shoot an unarmed man? You don't have the..." (nut shot) "Balls!" I laughed out loud. Or when Archie tries to disappear but belches instead. Too cute. I appreciated the silly moments like these in a film that doesn't take itself too seriously.

As for the film's other accomplishments, here is a modest list: the opening credits, chapter titles and transitions, and the special effects were each masterfully executed, and indistinguishable from those of any mainstream blockbuster hit (though the green screen scenes in the car were fairly obvious). The soundtrack was a pleasant surprise, and the car scene with everyone singing along was just too precious and reminded me of that classic "Tiny Dancer" singalong on the tour bus from Almost Famous. The filming locations were varied and interesting--abandoned fairgrounds? Yes, please. The choreographed fighting and accompanying sound effects were fairly convincing to me. The cinematography was reminiscent of J.J. Abrams with his stunning use of light. One of my favorite moments on film was a gorgeous, slow-motion flashback to a bygone Halloween that sucked me right in with a full dose of nostalgia. It melted me.

There is one major fault of the film that can't be directly attributed to the low budget: with the exception of the main star, some of the performances from each of the actors felt forced from time to time. Naturally, that pulled us out of the story. I'm not in the industry, so I may be wrong, but I don't think this can be attributed to budget because the rest of their performances would suggest these were fully capable actors. With an extra take or two, I think the poorly-delivered lines could have been re-shot (though I'm sure that would probably have its own costs). In my opinion, the relatively high production quality and the original premise and creative script were enough to overlook those occasional insincerely-delivered lines and missed opportunities for directorial intervention.

Absolutely Terrible
MoreAir28 May 2017
This film was absolutely horrible.

I'll get to the point. The plot was terrible. I would be surprised if anyone could make it past 20 minutes without turning this mess off. It was extremely predictable, and I do not see the point of watching a movie if you already know what is going to happen.

The acting was awful. It was more like a high school play that was double cast, and that this was the alternate cast.

The graphics are basically non-existent. And the graphic layout has been done in practically every superhero movie, so it did not add anything new.

I'll be blunt, skip this movie. It is terrible. Even if there is nothing else to watch, find something. Don't waste your time on this outrageously awful film.

Also, the director cannot blame the budget for how terrible this movie is. I have seen better feature length films made on a smaller budget.

Lastly, don't waste your time watching this movie. Find something else to do with an hour and a half of your time. There has got to be something better to do that wasting your time watching The Posthuman Project.

one of the best movies i've ever seen
gbu389 February 2015
to think that this movie was made by a handful of high school kids in Oklahoma. this movie far exceeds its own hype. I can't wait for this to be released on DVD. I want to see some behind the scenes stuff on this one. and props to Mr. Lucas Ross on his cameo. I saw this movie for the first time on a small TV news program here in Oklahoma City a few months ago. they were talking to some of the stars about how they shot the movie on such a low budget and I thought the story was awesome. I love that they shot some of it in their actual high school and I recognized a lot of the scenery around Ft. Sill and Lake Altus. The scene where Gwenn is getting picked up from her house was my favorite because it was shot in my neighborhood. I almost flipped right there in the theater.

wael-888-80129414 October 2018
Waste of time, looks like this movie had a really small budget, everything is expected. And the actors looked like they never did anything before, it's just so horrible to watch especially it reminded me of an episode of power rangers or something

Low budget for the 80s
c_sims7624 June 2023
Where does one start. Low budget film making at its best followed up with acting that is worse than the comedy that is porn. The idea behind the movie is actually pretty good. The execution however is another story. It's like honors kindergarten, got together to write a movie. Then took a diaper load on top of it. The best part is the sound track from the 80s. Finding out this was made in 2014 is comical. If you told the world this movie was made in the 70s it may pass as a movie worth watching. Unfortunately It's not and I wanted an evening of my life to this colossal steaming pile of bile and dung.

If you don't leave your highschool acting dreams behind you might end up in something like this...
ericjcant-127 October 2022
This is a movie where you quickly start thinking, "I hope this is a movie where everyone dies." It's just that bad... But based upon the viewer ratings it seems the cast and their immediate families were all very impressed. The acting is unbelievable on the worst level, but everything in this movie is equally stupid across the board. Nothing feels organic or real in this movie. The characters and situations are not quite as fake as something like Birdemic, but it is close. I tend to find that once a movie sinks below a certain threshold of natural delivery or organic characterization, I start to wish everyone would just inexplicably die under horrific circumstances, just to redeem itself for the effort given of trying to watch it.

Chronicle rip-off
Leofwine_draca2 February 2018
Warning: Spoilers
THE POSTHUMAN PROJECT is a young adult indie science fiction feature that turns out to be an open rip-off of the Hollywood hit CHRONICLE. The characters are very similar, and the plot - about them unlocking superheroic powers while on a trip together - is virtually identical. The main difference is that this is an indie feature, so hopelessly rough around the edges in terms of technical values, the calibre of the acting, etc. It's confusingly written and the moral dilemma material is plain boring for the most part.

God Awful movie...
hapkidomonkey7 October 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I really wanted this to be good. I had a long day and stayed up watching this on Amazon Prime. I was so dissatisfied that I had to say something.

I have no idea who wrote this script. They should have at least sat down and did a table read of the dialogue. Most of the lines had horrible delivery, the jokes (there were none), and most the dialogue was way too long or unnecessary. The first act of the film we are introduced to the protagonist but he doesn't carry the film. There's literally nothing of interest about him or the cast throughout a 100% of the film. His supporting cast has more uninteresting dialogue, background, and action than the lead. It took half of the movie to find out what happened to the lead characters legs, his father, and his relationship with his girlfriend.

Nothing holds your interest through the first 20 minutes of the movie. When they do get their powers the lead character isn't even noticeable anymore and he does nothing of interest accept lose his powers at the end of the film; which made absolutely no sense. Maybe it wasn't the intent of the writer or the director but if they were to go back and review the film; they basically took the main characters powers away. The protagonist at the end of the film (at graduation, states that the last blast fixed him, his uncle, father, and his uncles facilities have vanished.

So, he lost his lame healing powers, after recovering from a gunshot to the head, over powering his Uncle with the help of his brother, and getting blasted with the Zero power gun again. Everyone else apparently kept their abilities. I was like what a waste of time!

The other horrible thing, was that the camera kept floating (the jitters) back and forth. (smh)

It was hard to believe that they shot this movie with a RED Digitial Camera. I'm like haven't you ever heard of a Steady Cam, Post Production, Story boards, editing filters, or even lightning? This movie looked like they wrote something, shot something, added lame special effect, and that was it. They couldn't have gone over the script, they didn't re-shoot scenes, didn't work out any of the action or fight scenes, and they didn't work out the plot or the effects.

The production was just horrible. I've seen better filming on Youtube, with an iPhone / iPad, no budget, made with a lot of imagination and real planning. http://filmriot.squarespace.com

It is a great thing that they put something together but by no means is it any good. It is like making a beautiful and very poisonous chocolate cake. It looks good but it's just gonna kill you in the end.

CLONE OF THE HEROES SERIES BAD SCRIPT, WORSE MUSIC, THE WORST ACTORS! DULL ACTORS!
madeinisarel23 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
You can't have a good series without good actors good music good plots this is a flop.

I followed the script from the first heroes high school kids turn superheroes using technology.

Chain manipulation changes them into superheroes.

Med brother-in-law or uncle turns children of his brother into superheroes.

The graphics are used are the worst you don't want to waste your time on this movie.

Whoever did this should go back to whatever they were doing before I thought they could be a movie star or a Director or a writer.

Find another job you can't do anything wright. Time to go back to your old job or find a new job.
