Nice kid movie

This is not a real review, it should be understood more as a collection of impressions on the film.

Horrible special effects, let's start like this, but everything else is very nice, especially the plot which is really well done because it combines a classic youth adventure story with a bit of video game science fiction which gives a little spice to everything. With films like this one must first of all understand that the target audience is children and in my opinion, considering the film as a film for children it acquires a lot of value as it is light and entertaining and even leaves room for a final moral which, even if obvious, is always very important in this kind of film.

The cat... And stranger-danger...

Did they really let the cat die?! It's implicated that by destroying the computer parts they killed the bad guy, there's the note from the typewriter as well, further pushing down on that fact. The movie happily shows us the stupid wooden duck, which made its way out and into the last scene where we see that everything's all good now? Mops didn't deserve this!

The strangerdanger parts are pretty obvious, like you probably don't just let a random guy frolick into your kids bedroom? And making the girl, that actually said something about a man hiding in a bush taking photos secretly, look like an annoying brat also wasn't the best move i'd guess..

Maybe it's just 2014?

They will do an US remake ! This is a hit.

FANTASTIC FILM for ALL KIDS ! This is a jewel!

OK, very often you read reviews that do a film no justice.

Do not believe bad comments from journalists.

This film has it all, it has heart, fun and is paced with good jokes and suspenseful moments.

I had so much fun watching it that at some moments you really feel for our hero and the danger on his path. Even parents got hooked too in the crowd I've noticed.

At a certain moment I felt like I was watching Inception but then a kids rendition. Yes, this film is THAT good.

OK, the VFX are not Hollywood style (the picture was shot in Europe) but the story is amazingly good.

I would not be surprised if some Hollywood big shot did a remake in the US, this is a box office hit for sure because of the good and incredible original story.

Lots of twists and turns and even I was surprised with the great ending (nice one, I did not see that coming, the director knows how to build up a great suspense).

Very rarely I see a tribute to classic feel good movies like an Indiana Jones bridge or Goonies and Back to the Future that we all know from the eighties but my kids don't know.

This is a A+++ movie.

Even with subtitles because the story is very visual and fast paced.

Even for older kids and teens this is highly entertaining, everyone coming out of the theater with me was raving and enthusiastic.

Only sad part is that it is spoken in Dutch and I don't like that language but one easily forgets that once the action starts and the death race for our hero.

I'll by the DVD, my kids loved it big time !!!!

Amazing movie suitable for children of ages 10 and above I believe! I accidentally ran into it and I loved it!

Refreshing, smart and with a heart

The special effects are touchingly limited but the movie shines by its acting, smart storyline, humour and all in all a big heart. I watched it twice already and love its refreshing style and likeable characters, much much better than big budget souless production, highly recommended!!
